I don't remember what my gamertag at the time was, but I'm pretty sure my first game of Halo 3 was on Isolation. Surprised I didn't trounce my 360 right there and then.

Because last post of the last page:

It is the Sandbox Sparkast fyi.
Wow, I forgot all about that. He teased it like two months ago, haha.

I hope that the last few maps are kept secret til launch.
Multiplayer maps? No way. I want to know them all! As long as they don't spoil campaign locales.

Btw, I haven't really kept up with H4 news, but was a Waterworks remake confirmed? That was my favourite in the series

The remake hasn't been confirmed yet. Waterworks would fit extremely well in Halo 4 as is.. Some of the other maps people mentioning wouldn't really fit unless they were reimagined (ie: Sandtrap's vastly open areas).

First Halo 3 game was CTF on Valhalla. 9/26/2007.

My team won 3-0, I went 9 and 4 with 7 assists- which is a pretty typical game for me as a middling support player.

No one knows what the remake is yet, only hints have been given out. Did we ever figure out what the restaurant Frankie was talking about was hinting at?

Talents, if it makes you feel better about it, noone thinks too highly of you as of now, so don't worry about a crappy old gamertag surfacing.

Haven't posted in this thread for a while, but I just wanted to say how much I hate the gamertag PuR3 TaLenTzZz

Did you really need 3 'z's? One 'z' is too much

That is all

He actually fell asleep while finishing the gamertag.

What Halo's fictional history from the Forerunner Society to the Reclaimers destiny as Guardians of the Mantle have specific fictional elements that also exists in Sci-Fi shows like:

Stargate Atlantis: "The Ancients" built highly advanced technology.
Babylon 5: Mimbari Society:Warrior, Religious, and Worker Castes
The Alliance of Humans and Aliens became Guardians of a New "Younger" Generation in protecting the Universe as the previous Ancients stepped down of their War in dispute of this position.

Halo has very close similarities to these:
Forerunner Society consists of Builders, Warrior-Servants, Life Workers, and etc.
After their War against Ancient Humanity and the Flood War they too left the "Mantle" for the Reclaimers "Humans" as Guardians of the Universe and all what they've left behind.

I wonder sometimes if the HaloGAF Hivemind used to be bullied as kids and are now taking that out on other people over an internet forum..

ITz DarkBR MDK isn't THAT bad, but nuoh my gawd if anyone found out my original tag somehow I would leave the forum out of sheer embarrasment.
Mine isn't my first choice but I'll wait until I've got enough free points to change it.

Some people pick crappy tags, important thing is you had the sense to change it.

Eh, I don't care. I just write my opinion's and if that means people don't think 'highly' of me, so be it. It's a forum, stuff like this doesn't get to me.

If it makes you feel any better, you've posted pics of yourself, so you're on Sai-kun's favorites list by default.

Here we are. Five years ago today. Thanks for all the wonderful memories.

I still have my cat helmet on a table here at work. ;P

My fondest memories of Halo 3:

* Driving along Tsavo Highway in my brute chopper for the first time as that huge Covenant ship passes by overhead.

* Playing my first solo legendary run of any Halo game, and especially the feeling of beating that brute pack in Crow's Nest. Felt like such a bad-ass completing that encounter. That moment sealed my love for the series right there, and it hasn't abated since.

* Playing co-op with each of us having our own vehicle, sprinkled with heavily armed allied AI. Convoy time!

* The Covenant mission. Still mind boggling to me how epic that level is.

As a Forger it makes no sense to lock people to a certain part of the map unless it's to make Objectives work. In Slayer, I shouldn't be locked to a small part of the map because I'm not defending an objective, player, or location. Teammates should spawn close to each other, out of danger, and with more than one exit out of their spawn.

Players should be spawned safely and in a way where they can regroup and attack, not in a way where they get spawned and die within 3 seconds because the other team was able to set up a spawn trap because they can't spawn on the vast open spawns on the other part of the map.

Narrows is not big enough nor has enough player pathing to support sidelocked spawns in Slayer. A notable amount of people seem to want sidelocked spawns on smaller maps just so they can have the chance to set up a trap and get easy stomps. These same people, of course, come into this thread and on Waypoint and HBO and complain when it's done to them.

As it stands, it's fairly easy to set up a trap on OG Narrows where the other team always spawns behind their mancannon. Yeah, have fun killing the sniper across at the other cannon or the BR on top mid. Take the mancannon where you're a sitting duck on a fixed path as you fly across. Just swell, AAA gaming right there. Amongst the ranks of CTF Zealot, 1 Flag Burial Mounds, and sidelocked Tempest. I really enjoy when enemy players sit on top of the rocks in my base and kill me before I can get more than one shot in on that one. Apparently it's too fucking hard for players to figure out that once they kill the other team on one side of the map, that team is now going to spawn safely on the other side of the map, so push that joystick until you done turn 'round and get ready for the next battle. You can have a world class spawn system and it doesn't mean a goddamn thing if people pour sand and concrete into the engine.

If a map is going to be sidelocked then it better damn well be able to actually support it.

There are lot of nooks in a Narrows base that allow it safe spawns, especially from top mid. In fact, to effectively lock down spawns on Narrows, you can't just sit top mid. You need people in the base running around. It takes real coordination. The man cannon and the man cannon jump to top mid are serious monkey wrenches in the setup. It also takes real coordination to break a setup.

With the spawns changed you could be the team with top control and middle position and be caught in a sandwich because how often do you get 4 players down at the same time? It changed player behavior. You saw more people sitting back to force the enemy spawning in front of them. And because spawns were so easily effected, those killed spawned essentially in random locations. YAY WE'VE BEEN BAILED OUT. Bullshit. You like it, I don't. We'll just have to agree to disagree. *offers handshake*

Lucky for me then there's no way of anyone finding it out. :)

why do you taunt teh Intertoobz?

You realize that someone with a lot of time on their hands
Elzar
is just going to browse your games from the early 08 time period to find where someone took a screenshot that shows your tag in the killspam, yes?
