Halo |OT9| One Final Effort Is All That Remains

Some stand out pics:

It's a weird thing to say, but I like the female Spartan's face. So much better than whatever her name was in Reach.

So now Frankie recommended to start Forerunner on Normal instead of Heroic. I am happy that the counts of my deaths will never be revealed.

As you may notice on those new beautiful screenshots I am bad at describing things. At least you get a pretty cool view on Complex which definitely looks a lot better than everything from Mass Effect 2-3.

Does Complex play an important role in Spartan Ops?
The objects have some similarity.

Those new screenshots really are quite striking. Beautiful game. Also, for some reason I hadn't realized that crawlers were that big. Not that they are huge or anything, but they are more substantial than I had thought.

We just got pics during night, no build-up or anything?
Nice. Positive surprise, like it.
The Flood looks interesting. Certainly an improvement over green or black players in Halo 3/Reach. Not very scary though. Or particularly disgusting (though nothing in video games disgusts me really).
Now, gotta check them all.

I feel like the people expecting a Classic playlist are going to be very disappointed come November. When Frankie said there will be playlists with restricted settings and loadouts I figured that meant things like Snipers and SWAT where AAs and Support/Tactical packages obviously won't be available.

Will there be a place for people who prefer a more stripped-down type of Halo game in Matchmaking at launch? -Overdoz1z

Yes. And Halo 4 Matchmaking modes will be more streamlined.

I very much doubt this refers to SWAT or Snipers. It won't be a classic playlist though, just stripped from some elements of the game.

Also, the Flood look like they're ripped straight from Doom or something. They look way too... clean? I don't know, they don't look like they're infected at all.

Complete?

Come on French folks, do yer thang.

Be careful of what you wish for, we don't want the ending leaked before the release.

Hmm. I wonder, maybe i should go to blackout till Nov 6th. Morrowind and World of Warcraft will keep me well occupied.

I was wishing for french fries, what you talkin' 'bout.

Fuck. Those screens. Can't believe we've got just over a month to go!

I've tried to not let the hype get to me, but...screw it. I am excite! :D

Bulletin should be good tonight! I hope they go into detail regarding the flood multiplayer mode, as well as a Promethean Weapon Trailer with added Wub-Wub.

Fingers crossed.

Holy shit the flood and spartan IVs look incredible. Still feeling a lil salty about the Knight's lackluster design though, especially when the are going to be the core enemy unit for campaign. This would have been far better

Wish the combat forms looked better. I think the things that are bothering me are the less-whiplike claw and the fact that it doesn't look like the infection is sprouting out of the character--I loved Halo 2's Flood because it was the first time you could actually see how it pushed aside the Marine armor.

I guess the lack of over-armor is just so they don't have to deal with all the armor permutations, but it still seems like a misstep.

I wonder if they classic Grifball and Infection gametypes are still around.
RIP CTF ;_;

CTF? Get out you BK.

Infection and Grifbal have existed since Halo CE and are gametypes that require tremendous skill.

CTF is just some noob crap you play to boost your K/D

Well, it's an improvement over not having any sort of difference for infected players I guess. I don't think they should be compared directly to campaign representations because they're being designed to accommodate gametype needs and being played by people, but I'll agree that the aesthetic of them is very unlike the Flood we've known.

Still no visible secondary weapon in the HUD?
Frankie made a post mentioning how that came about, but yeah secondary weapon isn't going to be there.

Haha, we get the idea Gui! But you're right. While everything looks great, I wish their multiplayer a was little more focused. There are too few maps to work with such varying gametypes. I like normal team slayer and I feel like Reach kinda shafted me there. 4's maps are hopefully better in general, so i won't mind as much playing the same 5 maps over and over and overdoz.

So, there's still some things we know exist in some form or another that we're still waiting on a reveal for:

- 2 new vehicles (unless Mantis is one)
- 4 more MP maps
- 2 more Forge environments (and additional pieces, color schemes, tools, etc...)
- Groups
- Ranking system (?)
- Detailed progression system breakdown
- Challenge system
- Theater
- Bungie Pro equivalent
- Custom game options
- Spartan Ops customization (beyond difficulties/skulls ?)
- All skulls
- Full medal list

(Additional new game modes like Dominion, revamped CTF, etc..?)

What else?

Ahh, ok thanks. Haven't been around here much lately. :/

It was found to have been redundant. Players would have always just switched to find out or simply remember they had it. When shrinking the secondary weapon icon, many silhouettes looked too similar to one another.
