Halo |OT9| One Final Effort Is All That Remains

Seance

I'm buyin Halo4 (std ed.) = $75NZD
And the season pass = ~$30

That's it for my 2012 gaming haul. LOL. Got standard copies of 3 and Reach too.
I'm still rocking a fat 2009 360, which is a free replacement for the '07 one (the only xbox i've "bought"). I feel like I haven't spent too much on Halo, guess I don't really see the point in any of the extraneous content.

I'm in a bit of the same boat Seance. Still rocking my classic refurb Jasper 360. Just getting the standard edition, not getting the season pass; I'll have to wait and see how much I end up liking the multiplayer.

Other than that, I already have Dishonoured fully paid for and preordered on Steam and that seems to be it as for planned gaming purchases for the year.

Halo 4 Limited Edition - €70
Dishonored - €45
Assassin's Creed III Special Edition - €45

= €160

Decent, waiting for the rest when prices drop.

Where's RE6, the greatest game of October.

I'll probably end up grabbing just the Halo 4 LE and nothing else on H4. day; maybe some Korean food too for lunch.
Rest of the year is mostly import games and green tea Kit Kat bars.

I will buy the Halo 4 LE somewhere (I should probably reserve one at a store near work), and possibly Dishonoured, though I'll probably wait to buy a pre-owned copy. Gotta save money for Far Cry 3. And wedding rings. And spare myself from getting Football Manager 2013 and so losing another few hundred hours of my life.

Also, I still haven't played Mark of the Ninja, or Fez, or whatever other good Arcade games have come out this year.

How the hell do you pay for all that crap? I only have about 600 euros left for the whole month of October :(
I've spent all my disposable money on trips this year, luckily everything was made possible by splitting the costs with others.

I originally wanted to get the LE game and the LE OST, but I'm downgrading to the SE game and on the fence about getting the standard digital version of the OST. That will do it for me for the rest of the year.

I just started going to university and also moved out of my parent's house so everything suddenly became a lot more expensive :p I'll probable withdraw 80 euro's from the bank sometime so I'll have enough money for Halo 4 when the time comes :lol

Halo 4 was the only game I wanted this side of Christmas until I found out the Zone of the Enders HD Collection was coming out October 30th. Although I probably won't pick that up until quite a while after 4 comes out anyway cause I won't have any time for it.

I am happy that I started saving money for Halo 4 since PAX Prime last year. I haven't bought many games this year(compared to the previous years). But yeah the most money I'd earned through my job went to the trips I did this year. Unfortunately I couldn't continue working since Aug 1. Damn. Trainee. Why do they have to kick a part time worker?

Oh yeah good point, forgot it!
Haha :p

There are no words for how disappointed I was by that game. I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Meh, it wasn't that bad, IMO. Sure it wasn't very satisfying, but it was still a decent game (aside from the multiplayer required for best ending BS). Though saying that ME/ME2 were much better.

Anyway... ACIII comes out in a few weeks! Trying to finish that before Halo 4 will be a bit hard. Wish these big titles were more spread apart... All year I've been bored with the games I've got, and now there are too many good titles coming out at once.

I'm buying:

Console - £280
LE game - £60
UNSC Pad - £35
Warheads - £200
LE OST - £58 (already paid for this though)
Art book - £15

£648

I will pick up some action figures too, though I've not really scoped out which ones I'm getting just yet. I feel like there's a surprise or two they've yet to drop on us yet. Will there be a UNSC branded Surface tablet? A Forerunner Lumia 920? I wouldn't be able to resist either of those.

@bungie @Monolith_Gui Hate to break it to you guys but Bungie ain't making Halo 4

A question about sprint and bumper jumper. Do you have to hold sprint or (a) the whole time to continue sprinting or is it like reach where you can press the button and sprint till you stop holding forward?

Sprint is on left stick, so either way it's not uncomfortable. I would make the assumption that it is hold to sprint rather than Reach's psuedo-toggle.

Ohh so sprint is still on the left stick for bumper jumper? damn, prolly the best place for it though I guess.

The Button Layout from the buleltin says A to Sprint and LS to crouch for Bumper Jumper. Please, don't say that they have changed this already... :(

Sprint is on A for Bumper Jumper. I doubt you'd have to hold it, that would make no sense. But then again having to hold down a button for the hardlight shield doesn't make much sense either. I really hope they've changed that for all AAs since the E3 build because it really hinders the usage of them for people who use Bumper Jumper. Not getting my hopes up though.

Totally agree. Would make Jet Pack way easier for Bumper Jumper player, although I didn't play Jet Pack at all.

I tried bumper jumper last night, but only to see how sprint on X would feel to me. Felt quite comfortable.

Looks like I'm sticking to recon on H4.

There's too much stuff in the game for Bumper Jumper to be efficient. (AAs and Sprint specifically)
I'll probably just use an Onza with the extra bumpers as sprint and AA.

RT: Fire
RB: Melee
RB2: Sprint
RS: Scope

LT: Throw Grenade
LB: Jump
LB2: Use AA
LS: Crouch

A: Sprint
B: Reload/Action
X: Use AA
Y: Switch Weapon

DP: Switch Grenade
BACK: Score board
START: Settings/Loadouts

Generated with Controller-Layout-Designer

Seems efficient.

I really do not like the look of this.

I guess I figured that the mechs would simply be an upscaled version of MJOLNIR armour, kinda like this

Of course there would be changes, but the design we have doesn't really make sense. We know MJOLNIR armour can basically move itself more efficiently than any human can, so why not use it? The current mech design we have looks so restricting and so... clumsy - especially for something apparently 500+ years more advanced.

The thing is, the MJOLNIR is already a "mech" more than a suit, IMO.

You already have a genetically engineered cyborg with the Spartans, then you put them in MJOLNIR which is basically a bipedal tank "suit." Then you're gonna stick THAT into a bigger bipedal tank?

That's a bit overkill.

So yeah, I agree with you.

The one thing I've been clamouring for from the start is for jump to have the dual purpose of activating jetpack if equipped. Red Faction Guerrilla does something like that, though I don't think anyone's tried to see if they added something like that in con builds or cares.

Well obviously the mechs are designed for humans too... not just the Spartans (right? haha). And I was just thinking about it from a design standpoint. The mech we have now looks clumsy - which is odd because we know that the UNSC has the tech to make them as proficient and as swift moving as MJOLNIR armour if they wanted too.

Yeah, I was agreeing.

One of my favorite parts of the books was when the guy gets liquefied testing the MJOLNIR armor.

I understand it's gonna be fun in the game, I just see it as more logical if a regular marine was in that mech (Overdoziz and I already had this conversation).
