Yes, they said that they are looking into it but as of right now it cant be done.
EDIT: as most fighters use a system that basically copies inputs and replays them for you, but that doesn't work for all stars because apparently the same outcome will not happen twice with just the inputs being captured because of the nature of the engine.

So great to hear that DLC characters will include a story, challenge, etc.
This ought to make pricing more fair:
-Base character is completely free (at least First Party)
-Story, challenges, etc. should be charged in bundles
Basically, sell at two-four characters for free, unless you want the story and challenge and extra costumes/all other unlocks for an easy $10
E.g:
DLC 1:
Crash Free
Spyro Free
Kat Free
Ryu Free
But get all that together with all the goodies for like $10, $6.99 for Plus
Seems fair, no?
I love how hard SB is trying to get Crash for free, but really, if Activision wont budge, I truly would not mind paying for it if it is sensibly priced or bundled. There's only so much they can do, and I would rather have Crash as DLC then have to wait for a future iteration.

You mean like how maps separate the community into different pools? I'm pretty sure that would only occur for stages.
Many people will probably just want to play online after the first few months, which would probably mean many wouldn't bother paying for the challenges and whatnot, unless they have trophies, then you may get some trophy hunters.
Besides Crash, I'm content with paying if it's a fair price, it's pretty much inevitable that they will be paid.

Same here, since I have to import my copy pay shipping and wait one week im really thinking going digital but I really love having my games physical! I don't know what to do...

Go digital and get the disc version later when it's like 5$ if you still want it. That's what I'd do.

It's really starting to feel like release is right around the corner (probably because it is) Gotta hand it to Seth and Clock for upping the hype for this game. That long feed last night was awesome, and the trailer released today was mind blowing.
I'm hoping that trailer gets some more play so more people can see it. A demo along with preordering with Day 1 Digital should get some more customers

Because in theory that means DLC Characters will be released in pairs, (woo 2 at once) but also the content for this game is really gonna keep on giving and be awesome. There should be a pretty decent amount of single player content for a fighter

The latter half is a really good watch. 1 v 1 matches in particular you can really just see more people trying to capitalize on particular strategies rather than the 4 player free for all which is just a instinctive romp of combat

Nah yeah they revealed awhile ago all characters on disc will be unlocked from the start.
I don't think the point of the whole game is to unlock characters though...Do you stop playing games after you unlock all the characters?
As silly as it sounds the point is to have fun. Plus for tourney purposes and things like that people want to have all the characters initially.
