Indie Bundle Thread - There's another one?

Last chance to get the latest Green Light Bundle!

You know what I noticed? I keep debating if I should buy this indie "bundle" or not, if I should pay the minimum amount for that bundle over there even though I only want one game...

Then the Humble Bundle comes out, I insta-buy it, beating the average...

..and then I proceed to buy every single bundle that's still active on that very day.

For instance, I debated myself over and over again about the green light bundle. I decided I didn't really want it. But then I just went to the page again, saw again that the cover is a Master System homage and said: oh well, fuck it. And bought it.

Weird.

The 3DS version got a patch adding all of the new content from the PC version. It also looks really nice in 3D.

I don't think the PC version has anything the 3DS version doesn't have besides a blurring effect to replace the 3D effect and a higher resolution.
Thanks!

This happens when you really want something and try to resist.

New IndieGameStand game is The Journey Down

The Journey Down is a classic point-and-click saga with a black African twist. In a shady corner of Kingsport Bay, at the outskirts of St Armando, Bwana and his trusted sidekick Kito struggle to make ends meet at their run-down gas station. Little do they know that they are about to be thrown into a spine-tingling adventure that will take them far from home and right into a twisting plot of corruption and danger. In the first chapter of The Journey Down, the search for a lost journal leads to forgotten secrets of the mysterious Underland. Follow Bwana and Kito as they puzzle their way forward and begin to uncover the true fate of their long lost father, Captain Kaonandodo.

Anyone that pays over $1 will receive a redeemable Desura key and those folks that beat the average price will receive an awesome exclusive PDF made by the developer for this sale that covers the Art of Journey Down Chapter 1. This full-color mini-book features rants by the developer, concept sketches, artistic inspiration and shows off the entire art process for the game.

Featured Charity: Medecins Sans Frontieres

Journey Down is pretty short even for an adventure game. You can finish it in one sitting, but I thought it was very good. Interesting characters, logical puzzles, overall a good time.

Is there a thread somewhere on GAF to giveaway Steam keys from the recent HIB Android bundle? Wasn't sure if this was the place to do it or not (I have about half of the games from it and wanted to give away the others to GAF members).

I found Random Encounter to be pretty terrible. Random indeed, difficulty is just frustrating and stupid luck at some points. I wish I would've paid $1.

You can beat Random Encounter in one sitting. Steam says I took just under 2 hours. I can agree some parts were irritating. RPGs aren't my cup of tea, but I guess the battles were active enough for me to plow through the end. Any longer and the game would be overstaying it's welcome.

Also if you are looking for the extras, I know that you can play them all free regardless off the Vlambeer site.

I still bought it because I want to support them

Yeti Hunter is a fun little game I'd like to see fleshed out into a full game. And Luftrauser is getting remade into a bigger game that should be on Steam itself.

Any reason why that game is bolded? Is it good?

I did it because I consider it to be the best game of the bundle.

Hmm one game in particular interests me, namely the arabic titled one, is it good?

The game is 2 months and a half old, and I would not have expected it to be in a bundle so fast. I guess the devs just lack publicity despite being among the IndieCade 2012 finalists, so they make this risky bet to accelerate their venue on Steam.

And if you need a suggestion for a second game (you have to choose min 2 games and pay min 1.50$ for this bundle), I highly suggest Quasir (an indie game released in late August, made in Brazil, and finalist for IndieCade 2012) so that you can enjoy the game and upvote it on Greenlight. It is only on Desura for this bundle, but there is a small hope we would find a Steam key on the Desura Steam-keys page if the game is greenlit. There is a demo for Windows and Mac, and I would have expected this game in a HIB if only there were a Linux build.

I've only played a little of Qasir Al-Wasat, but it's a very nice game so far. A stealth / puzzle game with a strong sense of atmosphere.

And if you need a suggestion for a second game

you said that like another game in the bundle would interest me and I would need a second to form a bundle lol
Quasir is the only game that interests me (it looks very sold) and I am torn on what my second game will be... i am leaning towards Velvet Assassin if for no other reason I can have another game on my steam list with a female lead ><'

It's a shame i can't seem to get into strategy games much unless they are strat games like disgaea/fft.

It was a reply to another post about Stellar Impact in the Steam thread, which I cross-posted here.

Velvet Assassin is visually good, but I have read the gameplay is frustrating. Personaly, I took Vitrum, but I have not played it yet, so I cannot say much. The other games do not appeal to me. Apart from Qasir, choose whichever appeals to you most. :)

Honestly, I took Vitrum, but I have not played it yet. The other games do not appeal to me.

oh I figured it was to someone else, it was just a late night joke from me :p but yeah i am glad that you only need two.

the best part... I actually have slight interest in Insecticide but i can't pick it because it's a bonus game.

ill likely just talk to some people and the first person to tell me they want one of the games I will pick that and give it to them lol.

Anyone's Indie Game: The Movie MP3s messed up in iTunes? They're all like three times as long as they should, the opening track iw 14 minutes long for me. They're the normal length looking at them outside of iTunes though. Weird.

I think we've had threads for the previous music bundles. Would it be acceptable/a good idea to make one for the game music bundle 4? How is the soundtrack to Dear Esther, on that note?

Dear Esther's soundtrack is incredible. I actually bought it after playing the game. Jessica Curry did an amazing job with it.

How does this one work exactly? I see Insecticide is #2 after 6000 Bundles sold.
How does one get that game (if i were to buy any of the others)?

After buying everything and listening to a few last night:

* Kanto symphony is too harsh for me, but fans of the Pokemon songs might like it

* Shoot Many Robots sounds like it might have a fun country guitar feel, but I wasn't in the mood to listen through it at the time

* The pack with Zelda, Skyrim piano solo (I didn't really recognize anything about Skyrim in it), a capella Portal 2 song, etc. is decent, though the a capella Portal 2 song is very short and better with the video.

The "Humble Bundle for Android 2" was added to the current Humble Bundle (except Snuggle/Smuggle Truck)...

Crap, I knew I should have picked up the Humble Bundle in case something good got added to it. I'd regretted not picking up Avadon in the Android 2 bundle, but the beat the average price is a bit high now.
