Wii U only does confusion.My buddy who plays games sent me a text asking what my wife got me for Christmas:
I got a Deluxe with NSMB. I'm pretty excited to play it as I haven't owned a Nintendo since selling my Wii a month after launch. I need to go find a copy of Rhythm Heaven stat!

that is always a banking issue... I have that problem sometimes it depends sometimes a card is fussy about APT Numer or #Number or some kind of combo it always has to to with that second address line just one little error on how you originally gave info to the card company
if you wrote #508 for the bank then you write Apt 508 at an online checkout the card does not accept the charge silly things like that

Finally opened up our Wii U this morning for Christmas. My kids thought it was a controller for the Wii and not a whole new system as well.
So far, all we played was Nintendo Land which was pretty cool. It's nice to finally see Nintendo games in native HD. Right now the system is updating (should have done this before hand, but my wife already wrapped it) and it's disconnected three times and been going for about 2 hours. Wow! The main menu is also painfully slow and I wish I could perform more without the gamepad - maybe there's a way though. Other than that, it's a nice little system. I'm pretty happy with the graphics so far. Can't wait to play some other games on it after it finishes updating.

wait who said it sold well, link? In here we are just seeing the expected children on Xmas day rush on the network slowing shit down and giving us errors but we have no real numbers to be able to tell 60,000 from 600,000
Was at over 2,000 online a few minutes ago. Highest I've seen so far.
Anecdotal evidence from my own store (European): the three first shipments of the Premium Pack sold out instantly. Same with the only shipment we got of the ZombiU Pack. The fourth shipment of the Premium Pack came a couple of days ago, and we sold a few of them. The Basic Pack has not sold well... only two so far. Regarding games, we've sold Mario to a little over half of those who bought the system. We've sold out ZombiU, Sonic Racing, Assassin's Creed 3, Batman Arkham City and Mass Effect 3. In other words: great launch except for the Basic Pack.
The whole being in stock isnt really the best indicator. After launch people said there were plenty in stock and then then nintendo announced they sold 400k 1st week.
I dont know if its done well over xmas in the US but as I said not being sold out doesnt mean its performed badly.

Finished the main story mode on New Super Mario Bros U today. Fantastic game!!

Highlight of my Christmas so far:
Seeing my 60 year old Polish father in law playing the F-Zero game in Nintendoland, with a huge grin on his face, and swearing his ass off in Polish every time he crashed! (which initially at least was pretty often!)

Okay, so I've had my Wii U since the Euro launch and all of a sudden it's started giving me constant error messages. It won't connect to Miiverse, Netflix, Uplay or ZombiU, yet it's connected to the Internet and the web browser seems to work perfectly.
Any ideas?

I'm personally hoping Nintendo give Wii U an equivalent of the Wii's photo channel. I used that a lot. It was a great way to show off your photos without having to print them out.

108 0065 error? Anyone? Me and my friend both have this trying to update.
So I just started setting up the Wii U and I just got to the part where I have to update my system. Its been moving so, so slow and I was wondering if I could have it going in the background while I messed around with the system? I don't wanna push some button and have it start all over lol.
From the looks of it the first update can't be in the background, but later ones can.

My connection is kinda wonky too and I get random errors 50% of the time in each service. Only thing that helps to completely get rid of it is bringing my console closer to the router. On launch day errors were also far more frequent for me and I couldn't even get the update running, it might get better tomorrow when not everyone else is downloading after opening their christmas WiiU.
We ended up using the cardboard insert that came with the Nerf cover...Kid was SO excited it's all we've been messing with today this even Topped Bosstones Hometown Throwdown tickets...
everyone is getting a big kick out the system, and we broke in video with the same video we always break new media devices in with DEATH METAL CAMEL

I expect it's server issues on nintendo's end due to dozens of people attempting to download the update at once.
