For me personally I only buy games from other sites that will activate on Steam. Saves me much trouble. Only time I've ever double dipped was when GMG had a great deal on Batman: Arkham City and alluded that it was the Steam version. They then announced it wasn't the Steam version and the only way to get the Steam version is to buy it on Steam. I felt the double dip was necessary because I was under the impression the Steam version was devoid of GFWL in favor of Steamworks not that they would BOTH be in the Steam version.

So to this day I have a key for Arkham City from GMG that I have never used and unfortunately no one wants to trade me something for it. So it continues to sit :(

Can't you get GMG credit from that?

2D titles will run fine. Also, Mark of the Ninja.

That's all I needed to hear. I've been listening to the Hotline Miami soundtrack, because I'm dumb and felt like spoiling the soundtrack for myself. Regardless, I'm totally pumped for Hotline Miami.

Also, I've been listening to Knock Knock every day for the last 5 days and I'm getting super hyped.

Is it any good I mean. Heard a lot about glitches and bugs..
They did alleviate some of issues with it being glitchy/crashing by having the game save your progress at every checkpoint. Originally you had to start the whole chapter every time it crashed. Unsure on if the main game is any more stable than since when I last played it (they mentioned bug fixes in patch notes) but the The Stars Are Left DLC crashed a lot when I played it not too long ago.

Still fun if you have a couple of people to play with. You'll be killing each other in no time.

Miasmata looks interesting, but I have to admit, I don't really even know what it's about. The premise on the Steam page is interesting though.

Anything less than every single one is not enough!

You might get your money back, but that deal'll be long gone before it's resolved :lol.

He can just put the money into his Steam Wallet and buy the pack when it's on sale again. ;)

Hey, look at that. I remembered my Steam username and password.

Any recommendations for games to play on a 6 year old laptop? I've been eyeballing Hotline Miami for weeks, but if I can't run the game that well, I won't buy it at all.

posting your labtop will help you know...

Wow, that's a lot of repeats. But at least I finally got Miasmata, it feels like I've been waiting forever for it to come up.

I also just won Duke Nukem Forever on SteamGifts, and I feel compelled to play it since I won it in a giveaway against people who actually wanted it. What have I done?
It's a good game. Yes, I said it and I mean it. IT'S A GOOD GAME.

That said, it's nothing more than that: a good game. Nothing innovative nor revolutionary, and nowhere near as fun as Duke Nukem 3D. Not worth waiting 12 years to play it, but it isn't bad at all.

I agree. People keep escalating how bad it is.

Next summer! We could all be dead by then. And then he'll have died knowing he never purchased them. Be a terrible thing to flash before your eyes.

...What a horrible sale. :( I want fallout.

Bethesda's been extremely schizophrenic this sale. Skyrim's been on sale three times now (at least two were sure-things) and the Elder scrolls series all got a daily. No daily or flash deals for any of the Fallout stuff that've been heavily discounted before. id's stuff stayed at -40% except for RAGE, the Doom franchise, and Quake 1, which was a community vote miracle of sorts (that I'm sure most everyone thought was for the entire franchise). Kind of an incomprehensible mess of decision making from this side of it, unless they're just trying not to lowball anything that doesn't have a direct tie to something current (which seems crazy to me).

So should I get The Longest Journey + Dreamfall or just The Longest Journey? Dreamfall reviews don't seem to be as good.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the game is good (more decidedly average), but, yes, for all the vitriol, I was expecting something far worse. For a few bucks, it's worth playing through once.

i picked up FO:NV GOTY for $7.50 during the summer sale...i would imagine IF it goes on sale, it would be around that price

Wtf? I just bought the Tomb Raider collection last night for 19.99. Today its 9.99.

Any chance I could pull that UK law excuse to get a refund?

Why didnt you wait for the daily deals? I'm sorry but this is your own fault and I really hope you dont get your money back. Otherwise what the hell is the point of the daily deals.

Shouldn't we wait until the last day of Steam sales in case they offer it cheaper?
I'd be laughing here if I weren't crying right now due to today's Dailies.

You make things look like we were on GAF.
It's not like the hate for that game is exclusive to GAF.

That said, I don't know what is it that so many people hate. Is it the character (hey, what else did you expect from a Duke Nukem game?), the level design (this is definitely a huge step back from DN3D, I can't disagree with this), the overabundance of arena-like shootouts (something I also disliked from F.E.A.R. 3), the weapons (straight up copied from DN3D, but if it ain't broken, why change it?) or... what? What exactly is it that makes everyone claim it's one of the worst games ever made?

You start the game in the middle of an island, with only a partial map of your locale. You have some sort of disease. The gameplay consists of walking around, collecting flowers and fungi, and carrying them to laboratories that you've discovered in order to discern their properties and turn them into medicines. You also need to do a lot of orienteering; triangulating your position (literally opening the map, and clicking on two "known" landmarks that are within your vision) in order to map out more of the island.

First rule of Steam Sale: Always wait until the last day if you're deal isn't a daily deal.

that actually sounds amazing. 7.50 is a bit high for me though (dat backlog)...will wait for 75%.

any Magika DLC worth it?

Is Dreamfall: the longest journey any good? most reviews say the puzzles were easy but the story is good. If it's as compelling as the walking dead I don't mind the gameplay being lackluster. Problem is I played the longest journey and I couldn't stand the dialogue and voice acting in that game. Did Funcom step up their game in the sequel?

Overall the sale wasn't too good but honestly I still ended up with some good games from it:

Gal Civ II
Space Marine
Endless Space

I was going to add Fallen Enchantress to that list but realized I got that from GamersGate for $8 lol. Thought I got that from steam. Oops.

Not terrible. The only ones I wish I could have gotten for a better price was Anno 2070 and FarCry 3. Those will have to wait.

How would he complain about what a huge let down daily deals are then?!

Sorry Dizzy, really hope you'll get your money back :p

I was overall disappointed in Diablo III.

How comparable is Torchlight? Would I be better off jumping straight into Torchlight II?

Torchlight is pretty forgettable. Torchlight 2 is stellar. Just make sure to play on Veteran or Elite difficulty.

This is bothering me so much haha.

Of the two, Torchlight 2 is the better of the two games. It's still very much a Diablo-like, but with Diablo 2-esque multiplayer and the ability to set any of the difficulty levels from the start (instead of New Game + being the exact same game on a harder difficulty). The downside is that loot doesn't depend on this initial difficulty setting, but rather how far though the game (or New Game +), and this might be a deal breaker to some (despite also being exactly the same as how Diablo 3 does loot, minus the option to make the game hard from level 1).

Has anyone (or any website) been tracking/recording all the daily deals? I'd be interested to know the counts for all the repeated deals and the average ratio of repeats to new deals. It might help us estimate how many more previously unseen deals will be offered in the remaining days of the sale.
