Not much of note that wasn't in the gameplay demo, but....this looks so dumb, and so great. Can't wait, marry me Platinum, etc..

A few new moves

That enemy hop he used at the start of the encounter and that punt launcher weren't in the demo

and it seems they've changed the point values for arms and legs and given the Zandatsu weak spot an audio cue when your cut line overlaps it.(good addition I found myself missing alot when visually I thought I lined it up perfect)

How bout a jetpack. Jetpack ninjas are always cool, and fast, and you won't get pulled over by cyborg cops either. And you won't look like a cyborg ninja driving a car.

"Guess I'm a two percenter, huh."

God his voice is cracking me up.

I can't watch the rest of the trailer because I keep going back to that part.

Just another painful reminder that I need to go reserve my copy, just gotta get the cash to do it. Loved the demo that came with ZoE HD, and I love the meshing of KojiPro and Platinums' styles. Totally hyped and will be playing the crap out of it next month!

Sure was a strange trailer

Hopefully we'll get more information on the other weapons, the devil trigger and the dog soon

Some of the detail is sparser because it's trying to maintain 60 fps. Same reason enemy limbs and shit explode rather than stay on the battlefield. The tradeoff is silky smoothness you can't appreciate on 30fps-capped YouTube. In practice I suspect we'll be too busy beasting and hunting for our next high-flying kill to nitpick the color palette or detailings.

It's not about the details. IMO, the game environments are flat out ugly and unappealing.

But that is some delicious combat.

I immediately assumed the cops thought it would be more satisfying to beat Raiden to death. Joke's on them, lol.

Yeah, that shit was dumb.

* Guy in a fucking triple-armored cyborg suit with a giant glowing sword jumps out of car unscathed after tanking a rocket and being blown 100 feet across a road* "We can totally take him, guys!"

But that action looks sweet, and I am amazed every time he zandatsus something. Can't wait for this to come out.

They pull out batons because super buff cyborgs like Raiden can't really be damaged by bullets, so it makes more sense to just beat him with sticks because the robocops have cyborg strength too.

I wish Gamespot will re-encode it with proper contrast, you can tell it's off because of how bad the gradients look on the title cards that were edited in. The game's visuals aren't going to impress anyone unless they're seeing it in full 60fps, but this one does look way grayer than the rest of the trailers they've shown.

Other than the voice acting that look awesome and I think Platinum is incapable of making a bad games *fingers crossed*

Also looking forward to trying the demo out sometime before the game is released.

Dayum that looked so good. I love stupid cutscenes like this, as long as awesome shit happens I don't really care about the cohesiveness of the scenario for games like this.

Correct me if i'm wrong. But unlike the demo. It doesn't look like he's needing to reapply the parry stance here, after each hit. But rather, just keep it up for all the hits. Perhaps some upgrade?

I'd need to run through the demo again, to make sure there's a visual difference though.

There is something hilariously funny about a killer-looking guy dressed in full android/robotic suit driving an ordinary car through an ordinary highway.

Imagine how it would be for a police officer to ticket him for something, for example, ahahah.

Looks great, but...

that was not necessary.

Agreed. I love the way this game looks, got it preordered, but I'm kinda hating that it's MGS. I mean, say what you want about MGS' story/writing, but it ain't THAT. Good thing it's gonna be fun as hell.

Man, I fall every time for this shit. Read "New" and "Metal Gear", got excited clicked the trailer and quickly got disappointed.
Completely dismantling Raiden's character and making him some blood thirsty psycho. Great. Not to mention that the game really looks hidious. Look at those car models and those plain empty streets of nothingness.

Rather play DMC than this.

Bayonetta has a huge amount of moves and upgrades, so I wouldn't be surprised.

It's hard to tell. You can see his stagger frames being interrupted by Raiden going back into the parry, so that could be an indication that the player is pushing forward and square each time to do it.

I knew you'll have people still saying it's a Metal Gear Solid game.No matter how many times they call it MGR you'll have people like this.I guess it's konami's fault too for waiting so long to put out that developer diary.. tsh oh well. It'll still be great in my eyes.

Well some people rather take a hit to graphics than play a 30fps action game. The MGS:GZ trailer is cool you could go jerk off to that.

There were streets and car models? I was too busy watching Raiden be badass to notice.

Also, maybe you should read the entire thread title before clicking the trailer. Might save you some disappointment.

I see a idol poster on the right wall in the first battle. Good to see there is still a bit of metal gear left in the game

I'm down with this game, but this trailer sort of worried me for the first time.

- Combat didn't look that different/evolved from the demo, and I'm assuming this is much further into the game.
- Raiden's bloodlust better make some sense (who the fuck am I kidding?).

- Raiden is all like "I'm a normal guy working as a bodyguard for a company, trying to leave the past behind, but putting my skills towards honest use."
- Enemies are like "We're going to commit atrocities and cause mayhem that pushes you to your limits."
- Raiden says "I can beat you!"
- Enemies are like "Nope! We're too evil!"
- Raiden then goes "The only way to beat them is to confront who I am, and become like them!!!"
- Raiden is apparently a psychopath.
- Psychopath Raiden psychopaths.

Why did they put down their guns even though they saw he was armed with a super hightech sword that can cut Metal Gears?

- PlatinumGames

Because CQC is the basis of all combat. Derr. Did Big Boss teach you nothing?

Looks like he's battling with his past and maybe the new body implants is messing with his mind.

I guess my problem with it is that, like, he already got over all of his issues in MGS2/4. And now he's been reset. Again. It feels like watching Snake go from experienced badass in MGS2 back to a doddering tool in 4. Nobody can progress past their archetype in the MGS universe; it's just reset button, all day, everyday.

...

I really should stop caring about the character development/narrative integrity of this series so much.
