We have a new Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance trailer

I know Bayonetta on the PS3 was blasphemous/an abortion/etc., but is it patched/manageable enough to playthrough? I always see it so cheap on the game shelves nowadays.

Patch fixes the loading times, which are fine. The spotty framerate, awful tearing, and comparatively washed out graphics are the big issues with Bayonetta 2. But if it's the only way you can play the game, then you should play it. It's how I did.

Is this game even canon?

Yes

So GAF, watching this trailer makes me want to itch my action game spot until the release.

I played through it a couple months ago for the Platinum and had as much fun as I always do.

Had to adapt to the framerate after how much time I spent with the 360 version but it's whatever.

After the patch it's playable but infinite climax mode isn't. Get it!

Seriously though, I'll never understand how you guys like games like these.

Have you not seen the gifs? Also the Zone of Enders HD collection demo was pretty fun.

The terrible, obnoxious moustache on that one police officer is all the justification I need to slice him up. But man, what a vicious game.

Looks ok. If this was made by say, NT, I doubt anyone would be saying how great it looks.

NT has a completely different design philosophy from Platinum

if it was made by NT it wouldn't be the game we see before us

After the patch it's playable but infinite climax mode isn't. Get it!

I beat it on NSIC on PS3 :x

Aww man, Bayonetta 2 has these issues too? ;)

I still need to finish Bayonetta. I have it, but I was slightly turned off by the ridiculous story (nothing against that type of story, I just was in the mood for something else when I started playing it).

EDIT: ARGH, darn you Sn4ke_911! lol

At least we know Bayonetta 2 is coming to the PS3. :p

Yeah, I'll do it sometime this year when I find the time. I also found a used copy of Vanquish but wasn't sure if it was worth it.

YES it is definitely worth it. A great shooter, fast paced and challenging, not to mention its got some pretty cool boss scenarios.

As a side note, play Binary Domain.

The framerate/tearing was what I was most worried about. But hey, the game is like $12 new now. No excuse to not play it I guess :lol.

Because not everyone plays videogames for logical realism.

It's been patched and it's much better now. But the 360 version is still the best version of the game. If the PS3 version is your only option, then go right ahead.

Looks even cornier/cheesier than I thought it would. It's the wrong kind of cheesy....just doesnt grab my attention at all.

Holy shit the voice acting is HORRID!!! I had that same "what the f...." feeling I had the first time I heard Bane's voice, but it never went away.

Regardless, I'm getting it day 1.

This still looks awesome, more then likely it'll be the first 2013 release I pick up. Played it at pax with a konami rep giving me pointers on top of the in game stuff so I learned how to do all the cool shit.

So first Platinum gives us the real Devil May Cry, now they're bringing us the real Ninja Gaiden III.

We were talking strictly graphics, lighting effects, shaders, etc... which is flat out average (I would say bad) in this trailer.

If you're talking about gameplay or animations or combat, those are completely separate issues.

I think that's pretty much just the price of getting 60fps on current gen consoles.

I'll never understand how people can playthrough a game skipping all the cutscenes. I understand they just want to get to the gameplay but at least let the game give you some sort of clue as to what the fuck is happening.

Caved and watched the trailer but skipped over the cutscenes at the beginning.

The "I think it's time for Jack to let 'er rip," line at the end was straight from the VGA trailer, cool to hear that again. It sounds better than the other lines.

Raiden sounded like he did in MGS4 in the demo, I'm really curious as to what makes him completely fucking lose it.

Combat looks so good, as expected. I wonder if Jack the Ripper mode will be a Devil Trigger like mode. It looks badass, whether it's only story related or triggerable.

I don't give a fuck what's happening.

I will be, too.

Why? I'd rather but fighting shit than watching shit.

I would understand it for a second playthrough but first? jeez, you guys will be missing out on a lot of cool stuff i believe.

It's a Platinum game, you won't miss anything. Everyone here is in it for the combat.

Yes it is, but they worked closely with KP especially for the cutscenes.

If there was any game that would warrant skipping cutscenes....it would be this type of game. It's just bad. It's kinda like the old arcade games where you didnt care about WTF was going on in the universe, you just wanted to shoot/stab shit. Think Time Crisis

Still at least some context would help the game from being incredibly jarring. The demo also described some key gameplay elements (collecting arms) in the prerendered mission briefing.

I believe Kojima is in charge of the cutscenes/story. If you hate MG cutscenes though, even more reason to skip them.
KojiPro is working on the story but I don't think Kojima himself has anything to do with it.

To each his own, I guess. Platinum usually has some cool spectacles during cutscenes. Story doesn't interest me much but I'll play along.

A seven minute trailer? I'm glad that Platinum has nailed the typical MGS complete lack of restraint at the very least.

Except that, like, 5:30 of it is gameplay.

You don't understand. I give zero fucks about the story. If a bum walked up to me and said hey, do you have any fucks to give me? I would be like, nope. I'm all out of fucks.

It matters not at all. I don't care. Not a whit.

I'm here to do cool ass shit with Raiden. Not watch Raiden do cool ass shit.
