Originally this video was to include all major PS3 exclusives, however, half way through editing and after many hours I realised I was running out of time and the video was dragging. I wanted to get this video up as a source of extra hype for wednesday. So with that in mind, there are things missing. uncharted 3, Resistance sequels - stuff like that. I wanted this video to show the range and scope of Sony's exclusives this ten, and as it runs mostly in chronological order, you can see a step up in graphical fidelity over the years too.

To be completely honest, the thing I am most interested in seeing is a slew of new IPs. Quite frankly, I'm not going to be impressed if all we get is next gen versions of today's franchises. Sure, I'll still get excited for them, but I'll only end up comparing whatever is revealed to previous entries in the franchise immediately. I want there to be a fresh slate for the first few years of the console's life before old properties start to be revisited. I kind of want that element of mystery to reappear in the gaming press. With sequels, I already have a really good idea of how they are going to play beforehand, so the sense of wonder really won't be there for me.

So, new IPs are definitely what I feel need to appear.

Honestly, I never had any problems with the controls before the patch. Of course, quickly adapting to control schemes has always been a skill of mine. I personally really loved all of the peripheral stuff (setting/atmosphere/etc.).

8GB of RAM would mean something other than GDDR5 which would mean they would have to rework their entire set-up. Not happening unless almost every single leak for the past year has been wrong.

I really think rumors like this are out there to create unrealistic hype that Sony will be unable to live up to. When ram was at 2GB everyone said they would be happy if only Sony would double it to 4GB. Then it was 4GB and people were hoping for 6GB or 8GB. Rumors of 8GB+ start coming out and now when it comes out with 4GB people are disappointed instead of being excited that it wasn't 2GB like originally intended.

But if its going to be out for 7-8 years before a successor is out then it needs more ram! Also people will never be happy with the amount of ram a console has

Is there a template of Kaz faces at different angles that people can use for their GIFs? I want to make my own and would like to know where you get all this stuff from.

Any idea how long this will be? I'm thinking probably an hour since there will be ~1200 be people.

So, here's how I think the whole event will go:

  1. Introduction followed by PS3/Vita sales figures for lifetime (5-10 minutes)
  2. Discuss upcoming games for PS3/Vita briefly, along with Europe/US Vita price drop (10-15 minutes)
  3. Introduction of the PS4 detailing the system to a certain extent (15 minutes)
  4. PS4 gameplay sizzle trailer followed by live demo of whatever game(s) (20 minutes)
  5. Final overview, general launch window given, "one more thing" ending(5 minutes)

I'm excited. I have enjoyed this current generation to the fullest I can experiencing as many different titles among each platform as possible. It's time to start looking to turn that page and bring on the next generation.

I just do a google image search and look for a face that looks like it might line up. Then I open it in paint.net and use the rotate/zoom/skew to line it up with what ever I am kazifying.

It doesnt make any sense, that same money would be spent a lot better on other things plus it would rise the cost of console, considerably overall.

The only way the PS4 will have 8GB ram is if it's DDR3. The same as Durango leaked specs.

I read your tag. I'm now worried. Do I need to get tested?

Shayan has also said that some stockholders were shown the PS4 on Thursday. I've not seen that anywhere else.

So he either has solid info from somewhere, or is soon going to be the possessor of a long nose and fire damaged pants.

Micron in their Stockholder meeting stated they would be making custom memory for next generation game consoles.

Jan 2013 Beyond 2.5D FPGAs, TSMC recently taped out a Wide I/O device. To enable Wide I/O, the company requires DRAM from a third party. Originally, it was working with Elpida, which is being acquired by Micron. Now, TSMC is working with Micron and SK Hynix.

Elpida Develops Faster Wide IO Mobile DRAM Product 11/2011

Micron recently purchased Elpida Memory after they developed Wide IO memory and Micron is producing memory for TSMC and Amkor which are assembling Wide IO memory.

Elpida Memory, the third largest Dynamic Random Access Memory manufacturer in the world, has developed the first 4-gigabit next-generation mobile memory chips for smart phones, tablet PCs and other mobile devices.

The new DRAM achieves compliance with the "Wide IO" international standard for mobile memory and has a data transfer rate that is four times faster than current mobile memory chips. Hence, it supports dramatic improvement in video and audio functionality.

The new Wide IO Mobile RAM uses a 30 nanometer manufacturing process. Sample shipments will begin in December 2011 and volume production is likely to start in 2012. Also, sample shipments of a four-layer 16-gigabit product are scheduled to begin in March next year.

Wide IO Mobile RAM has around 1200 interface pins, including 512 I/O (Input/Output) pins, to enable SoC (System on Chip) connections. Through Silicon Via (TSV) technology that can stack together multiple chips in a vertical configuration is necessary to meet the demand for higher memory density. In June this year (2012) Elpida began shipments of the 8-gigabit DRAM (four layers of 2-gigabit DDR3), a product manufactured using TSV technology. (Divide by 8 = 1 Gigabyte with two = 2 Gigabyte)

At present Elpida is developing a 16-gigabit DRAM based on stacking four 4-gigabit Wide IO Mobile RAM chips (with two Wide IO chips would equal 4 GBytes). Compared with existing PoP (Package on Package) products, the 16-gigabit DRAM is expected to be thinner and smaller by using TSV. The current memory package for mobile devices (SoC plus a 4-layer PoP) has a height of 1.4mm. However, Elpida's TSV technology package (SoC plus a 4-layer TSV) has a height of 1.0mm, which makes it about 30% thinner.

And we have our rumored 2 Gbyte and 4 Gbyte PS4 memory sizes above. 1024 bits wide (512 bits per wide IO chip) with two chips on Interposer. 2 Gigabyte already shipping 6 months ago with maybe 4 Gigabyte ready to upgrade the memory specs.

2 or 4 Gbyte Wide IO with two chips each 512 bits wide has support but not 8 GByte

1200 people are going to be bored to death by powerpoint and then shown a PS4 with a next gen wonderbook demo. Thats it.

After the show rumors will leak that they were going to show AAA games but they are being held for E3.

Maybe its the hype; Sony is so great at generating it, but it feels like we're going to see the Sony from PS1/PS2 days as far as aggressively competing at every angle this coming launch. That has me giggly.

Let the mud-slinging and Nintendo headquarters desecration, BEGIN!
