Know why? Cause they were considering a trailer and backed out at the last minute. I don't care if that's not believable, because that's what happened.

edit: wait- does that mean that versus is actually a PS4 game? there was a poster that did a drive by through one of the old orbis threads and SWORE this was the case.

I can believe him on that since Kagari posted similar stuff in the past about them planning to showing the game at E3s/TGSs and then backing out of those as well.

There are two different arguments here and I feel like you're joining the two. Whether you have confidence about what Kagari talks about is dissociated from your prediction of Versus showing up at the PS4 conference.
As for them backing out of a trailer I can see that this is a possibility you haven't really proven that it indeed happened.

Honestly? No idea. But it's clear it was made at the last second. The poor guy didn't know if they were supposed to roll the tape or just improvise some shit.

Well, I don't think he is a liar/troll, I am just wondering what would be some justification as to not show it at the last minute. You would think an event like the PS4 reveal would have its ducks in a row.
I did wondered if something like this had happened, it was just such a weird thing to present Hashimoto the way they did only to have him say 'wait for E3, then again they've been acting weird/crazy for a while, so I figured it was that.

It's a definite possibility. While I'm not sure if this was the case for Versus I'm confident that this was the case for FF15. My guess was that the CG trailer for 15 wasn't ready in time for the PS4 conference but since SE said they'll be there they just made an announcement of an announcement. Whether this is true or not, we'll never know.
It was an extremely important conference dedicated SOLELY for the PS4. It had important people attending attending for the unveiling of the next gen console. I'm pretty sure this wasn't the case.
I absolutely believe it was. Showing the Agni's Philosophy trailer in place of Versus was 100% obvious to me, so that's why instead of announcing details of the release of Versus after the trailer...he just sort of mumbled things.
I can actually believe that. I've been critical of you before, but Hashimoto's uncomfortable look was really the look of a last minute change.

The entire ending to SE's presentation seemed really off.
That's why I believe you that something else was initially planned to be shown.

the PS4 hardware was in a serious state of flux leading up to the conference. if versus is now a PS4 game, it simply could not have been in a good enough state to show- especially if it wasn't as polished as some of the other demos (deep down) getting shown.

SE is not gonna release 3 FF titles in four months, that would go against the way they have been planning their major releases for years, also goes against common sense.
Also they don't have plans for Versus localization at this point? I refuse to believe a company can be this stupid.

This isn't an uncommon thought. We've discussed this before in the PS4 SE thread. It's not like this theory is anything revolutionary or new.
Honestly just relaying the confusion I heard from some of those a bit 'upper' from the conference. Those higher level people expected to see Versus and then said to me "what the fuck just happened."
I don't want any kind of credit or fame here. I just wanna know what happened as a gamer as well.

Yes of course. A noob on Gamefaqs of all the places has THE insider info on one of the most secretive and sought after games in recent memory with airtight NDAs in place. It makes perfect sense.

One thing I'm certain is they fully know the consequences of playing a last year's trailer on a conference about the next generation. If what you said is true, they chose that to Versus, for whatever reason. Probably bad.
This new guys information conflicts with the previous guys info (the Versus XIII not being considered for localization thing) so even if he is legit, he didn't really read "Aryllies"'s post properly then.
Anyway, I won't give this guy anymore thought unless we hear about FFXHD coming out before June... if that happens then I'll believe him but until then, nope.

It's because SE has truckload of cash lying around so they fly their final fantasy head to US just to say "Please be vewy excited!" Dude probably flew first-class too and did cocaine on the way. This is what happens when you fuckers keep buying Lightning crap.
Playing Agni's trailer was perfectly fine. Epic showed the same Unreal 4 trailer and nothing else and no gave a shit.
