- It explains why the two are never in the same frame together
- It explains the bandages
- It explains why the game being on the Fox Engine was the big reveal.

1. Maybe Joakim's part was pre-recorded? He could have sent the finished recording to Keighley. He only has to sit in a hotel talking to a wall. Then GT goes on movie maker and cuts in Joakim's part. It's not like this is new.

2. Maybe because the character from the trailer has bandages too?

3. Could be, but an engine is always a big reveal.

Oh well, the fact people even think about this makes Kojima a winner.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
No... Especially when we've already seen how a similar model looks in that game... 10000x improvement in a few months?

The interview is obviously a ruse, but not because it's CG, because it isn't.

You guys are single handedly bringing the quality of GAF down a notch with one thread.

Think about it, even if it were possible, how would they get the funding to pull it off?

You think Konami would approve what would cost at least a million dollars for some obscure show?

Ridiculous.

Oh god the music....seems to be the most epic head in the history of heads.
Looks great but the face isn't animated and the eyes are closed.
That's where it would be extremely difficult to trick the human eye.

Never ever is Mogren CG.
It's a nice idea but he's to human...more than any CGI used in movies.
How should that be possible?

Come on... Kojima must do MG stuff, so I suppose this a recreation for him, being allowed to do shenanigans, especially with Konami using Fox across its studios, I can see them paying for a highly detailed, highly animated head.

Nobody is saying this what 720/PS4 characters will look like in the short term.
Just that Fox is Hollywood grade.

I honestly think it's kinda cornballish that Geoff is in on this ruse--all for which is hyping up a game--shameless promotion.

I get the whole thing is kinda neat--but he might as well be a hired PR guy for this whole thing.

Oh please. Post in other threads then, sorry for making NeoGaf a less honorable place or whatever.

I don't think it's true at all, but saying it costs a million dollars to do it is pretty silly. It's an engine they already have, graphics they're already using. They stick to a script and give Geoff the questions to ask. It would be pretty easy for them to do it probably.

"the shading on his cheek looks suspicious"

...how? The reason the guy has his hilarious reaction to the Fox Engine comment is because we'd had no confirmation (even though it was obvious) prior.

Geoff is perfect for that crap though. Wouldn't feel good to see another one fall to his level, and he's already there so.

For playing up to a fun promotion?

You're right, it completely compromises his journalistic integrity.

Good lord.

"the shading on his cheek looks suspicious"

...how?

CAN'T YOU SEE THE PIXELS, MAN?

well he seems to be the go-to PR guy in the industry lately, the fact that geoff does the interview is the only part of this that makes me even consider it being CGI

I think I'm done with my ride in this carnival.
I've come to the conclusion that most of the oddities are a result from the compression in that gif where the shadow disappears and that people are actively looking for reasons that it should be CG

Not a chance, but this sounds exactly like something Kojima would want to do. The whole Phantom Pain thing is wildly eccentric and fascinating.
