Weird, did anyone ask for this port?
I'm shocked this wasn't first 2 replies.

What have they added though, or is it literally just a port of the original game and DLC?

I'm gonna assume it's just the DLC too.
The only thing I can think is that they maybe hooked in the Missing Link so it's playable all in one. It needs off-TV play added at the very least.

Unlikely, though.

Such a weird choice for a port. I'll consider the game if performance, visuals, and the additional features\content and stuff are worthwhile, but I'm not expecting much.

What if this port works as an introductory chapter for the Deus Ex series for those that didn't play it before because they only had a Nintendo console?

I'd expect a new Deus Ex on this years E3, for everything out there (current gen, Wii U, next gen, PC).

Nah, they're working on Theif 4 at the moment. Eidos Montreal. Expect a new Deus Ex in 2-4 years.

Seems like he never asked for this.

well I mean, for the people saying Tomb Raider

Eidos Montreal =/= Crystal Dynamics/Core

it's not like its the same people behind it. Im sure the publisher is ultimately the company that makes the decision or decides to outsource it, but it's not that "GOSH WHY NOT TR ITS SO OBVIOUS!". Crystal Dynamics could just not want to do it.

Did Eidos not do this with Hitman on the GameCube?

They released it way late, and it sold like fucking shit. They proceeded to use that as reason to not make anything else...

This is the first in the timeline, and completely accessible to someone who hasn't even heard of the series. And to be honest, the only consistent platform of Deus Ex was the PC -- part 1 wasn't in Xbox, part 2 wasn't in PlayStation.

Not that I'm against the idea! Somehow, I doubt they'll ever remake any of the first two game. Releasing a DLC for each, to play as JC and Alex in a mission remake or something, would be gud.

If this game DID have re-tooled or cut bosses, would anyone's interest be piqued?

Not at full price. Re-tooled boss fights would get me to play the copy I already own again, or possibly purchase a "Directors Cut DLC" that modifies the PC version bringing it up to scratch (in new content terms) for 15 bucks or something.

Yeah, most likely. Eidos HATED the gamecube, I remember tons of interviews back in the day where their mouth pieces would just bash it.

Something that would cause me to double dip is if they re-did all those awful FMVs that the game was packed with. When Deus Ex got it's first actual trailer, there was that GORGEOUS FMV made by a Japanese studio with tons of cool imagery. And the final game had these artefacting, low-res, low-detail atrocities that looked liked they belonged on a first gen PS2 game.

The Missing Link DLC has to be there right? I heard that one is really meh.

So this is the PAX east announcement...

At this point it would have been more of a surprise if it wasn't this game.

May buy it if it plummets in price or I'll wait to get a better PC and buy it on Steam for a fiver in the future.

Finally, someone is paying attention to the massive cyperpunk-stealth-game-enthusiast-who-only-buys-Nintendo-consoles demographic.

this. I forgot to buy this game and I might get it, but DLCs are not enough to me to pay 40 bucks at all. Let's see what they have done, if I'm not satisfied PC it is.

If this game supports IR, then I'll be there day one. Otherwise, I have no interest as I have it for the 360. I do think the box looks cool, though.

20€ eShop release with all the DLC included, I'd bite. Even 30€ would still be "fine" as the PC version is almost 27€ when adding DLC and not accounting Steam sales. However this...

These late ports are amazing because it's a doomed if you do, doomed if you don't situation.

Wii U owners buy it = encourages publishers to release more old ports
Wii U owners don't buy it = encourages third parties to not bother with Wii U
