This actually works the opposite way you want I thinj. You should act as if you believe he's real because, if CG, you just say "Wow, fooled me!". The CGers, at least the adamant ones, are the ones who stand the most to lose if they're wrong. And that's the whole point of the link, right? Backing the side that has the least "punushment" for being wrong.
