I am the opposite, own a shitload of vita games, they are finally releasing 3DS games I want

I bought like 6-7 Vita games from June-Nov. last year, but since FE:A came out i've pretty much not looked at my Vita (I barely touched my 3DS after KHDDD/Harvest Moon till then).

However, I will buy Totori+ in a week or so (need that swimsuit DLC).

First of all, it's a bit pricey at 50 bucks, but I'll pay it. I would have paid 60 for it. I wasn't 100% convinced this was even going to be localized, so I'm happy.

Secondly, people didn't love Devil Surivor's artwork?

Just preordered Soul Hackers. I'm loving Etrian Odyssey IV and that is essentially my first dungeon crawler, so I don't see why I shouldn't try out one of the best games in the SMT series. Although, I'm 100% positive I won't be finished with Etrian Odyssey by the time Soul Hackers arrives, lol

That's okay.

What matters is giving Atlus our money.

If I didn't know better, it could almost pass as a Kaneko drawing with the pointed eyelashes.

Love how even the good demons look evil.

I have a theory he's behind more than we think, although I may just be letting hope do my thinking for me.

You may need to sit down for this...

Overclocked is illsuited as a representation of the series. Soul Hackers is much closer, but if you want to know exactly what SMT4 will be like, play Strange Journey.

I say get Overclocked or Soul Hackers first. Don't think you'll go wrong with either.

Also the games are challenging but not insane outside of a handful of optional bosses across the series. If you're reasonably good at RPGs you shouldn't have any big issues.

Thanks guys. I'll look into Overclocked and Soul Hackers and see which one looks more appealing.

Ew. After P3P Hashino made it clear he doesn't intend to neuter a game that way again.

It would look damn good on the Vita.

Also, both Overclocked and Soul Hackers are good tastes of SMT, but Soul Hackers is easier(seriously), and has a better(re: more unique) story, arguably.

Girl needs to stop cutting her own hair; ears are too big to pull that off, ffs. :p
I keep imaging her saying "Live Long and Prosper"

Soul Hackers is easier than DS:O? That's kinda mindblowing.

Since DS:O is pretty easy. and DS2 even more so.

It's funny cause I played all FES and didn't like it that much, then played P3P and loved it(Female MC, everything was faster, and control of my fucking party)
my dancer buddy, you are too awesome ;)

yeh I agree 100%. I loved both but I'll never replay FES again. Point and click > pointlessly running around. Oh and FeMC. Mentioning her is like an insta win for P3P.

It's still not EASY, but it doesn't have the strict SRPG format weighing you down. Soul Hackers has a few painful bosses, but overall it's not that bad.

I expect some broken 3DSes when everyone gets to

Friendly reminder of how boss SMTIV's design is:

Someone posed a theory that 1492 in SMTIV isn't
the past, but the future, post-apocalypse
, which puts an interesting spin on things.

But then why would there be samurai and everyone using swords...

Or maybe they all realized that they're in a JRPG and there isn't much difference between swords and guns in power :p Though even then guns would likely be easier to get.

Because swords are cool. Or maybe they ran out of gunpowder.

Who's doing the OT for Soul Hackers?

The majority is done by Meguro and Toshiko Tasaki (who also did Devil Summoner 1 and some contributions to Nocturne--she's awesome). Series veteran Tsukasa Masuko, who did the originals, contributes the game's awesome boss battle themes.

EDIT: Whoops, saw an "S" in there when it wasn't. But now you know anyway. :p

Pretty sure he means OT, as in the official thread which gets posted a week before release.

It's nice to know that, regardless. There's a lot of cooks in SH's kitchen. (Where did Tasaki go, anyway?)

Preordered. Now, are there any other upcoming Shin Megami games I need to preorder aside from Soul Hackers? (Which is already good to go) I feel like I'm forgetting something.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
How hard is Soul Hackers compared to Persona 1-4 and SMT3?

Soul Hackers is much harder than Persona 3 and 4, but they're easy games.

It's not as hard as Persona 2 EP, harder than IS and Persona 1 for sure.

I'd say the hardest SMT game, personally, is either EP or Nocturne. SJ is no slouch either.

Raidou 1 devil mode is absolutely insane.

Oh, so it's not that hard. That's okay I guess. Also is the game grindy and long?
