I wonder if it's possible for anyone besides me to actually like GTA IV. One of my favorite games this generation...
A lot of people on gaf like it. Some that weren't fans of the GTA3's. It just really bummed me out that they went in a totally different direction from the gun random stuff of GTA3. Apparently there were hints from board members that GTAV will be returning to the fun, but with them holding everything to their chest until possibly everyone find out how the game is for themselves after they unlock the ability to freely do stuff in the world, we'll probably find out if it's fun very late.
The Diablo 3 effect, which should have been called the GTA4 effect. This term was never made, I'm just going by the most recent example of this. D3 sold off of the popularity of D2, and it sold buckets. I hope people that didn't like GTA4 take their time in buying GTA5 unless Rockstar give them information about the gameplay (not spoiling story for people that care about that in a gta game lol). I know people that liked GTA4 will friggin love this game. They can take road trips through the hills and valleys of a California setting. This can be like their sight seeing vacation from the city life game.
Edit: Oh crap didn't mean to derail the thread. I'm sorry about that. The GTA4 thing is a hot flammable topic, I usually ignore the GTA5 threads. I messed up, I'll wait until it's released or something to post in another thread about it. Hopefully it really is GTA SA HD with even more random stuff to do, like I heard it might be (I got GTA:SA on PC finally but the controller support was all messed up
).
A lot of people liked gta4, what the bloody hell are you talking about.
They tricked a lot of people this way for GTA4,
I said they tricked a lot of people, not 50% people, not everyone. I didn't say no one liked GTA4. I read over my post, to make sure it wasn't as bad as it sounded from the posts after that quoted it. Come on, you guys have to admit, GTA4 left sour tastes in some people's mouth. I spent a long time trying to find ways to like it since the series introduced me to the sandbox genera that I ended up loving and play mostly now.
The reason I want the press to have time to review it fairly is if it's a great GTA game I want Rockstar to know it, if it's not as good as GTAblah blah I want Rockstar to know it. I want good things from GTA, I'm not wishing it to be bad. I like what Rockstar does with it's world, I don't know if they would listen to feedback, but I know they'd listen to metacritic.
