Holy shit, just had another idea for the name that's just as crappy as anything else:

Xbox Imagin8

It's so bad, it might just be true!

Would this require players to sing the Imagination Song to their Kinect's simply to turn on the platform?

This logo is nice, do you think this will be the logo? It's similar but there is a difference.

So I was bored so I google'd MGS studios and is it true that Lionhead has two teams and Rare has three teams? Where have I been?

I'm not sure, but I think Rare had two teams and opened another studio or something like that. At least I sort of remember reading something like that. Not sure about Lionhead.

More content than times?

I don't know how believable such a claim is, especially when you factor in the event on May 21st. Still, interesting times ahead I guess.

I'm sure they already planned out the reveal and that is 60 minutes to talk about the console, features and some games.

Even if you don't like Microsoft E3 shows since Kinect, they do run a tight ship when it comes to presentations.

Seen this Phil Spencer tweet regarding the reveal being close to E3.

I believe that. Keighley said the reveal would be 60 mins -- so if you figure E3 will be 60-90 mins, that doesn't sound like a ton of time considering they've said nothing. Sony took 120 mins in Feb and held back a ton (without it feeling even that drawn-out to me). So I suspect the after conference(s) stuff will give us a bunch of interesting goodies.

Too 3D for todays modern, minimalistic tastes. It will probably be just the X symbol in a green circle. Or.. go ahead and remove the gradient to let the cut-out X match the background green.

Yup one Rare teams makes the avatar shirts, the other team makes the pants, and the third works on avatars themselves.

I don't see the spherical logo remaining (in any form) if the new system is dropping the 360 moniker - which it surely will. Mostly likely it'll be a metro-themed X in a square.

I like IT, looks nerdy looks like a atom.
Yup, I like it too. Like, the X in the logo is no longer looking into a sphere (aka Earth?) or flat bit of... something, it's encapsulating it. Wrapping itself around it, perhaps as a reference to inter-connectivity around the globe?

Shit, I should work in marketing.

I'd be surprised if they don't stick with the current metro-style flat logo with the new darker green. This image colour is a bit off but you get the idea.

Yep they will. Fits in with the rest if MS' branding, and is just beautifully simplistic to boot.

Very recognizable at this point.

They won't change the logo (too much) from what he have. It's very recognizable. I think we will see a new style for XBOX und the new name, if we even get one.

They will likely spend most of the time explaining apps, media options, new controller, the console itself, partnerships, new Live features, debunk or explain always-on connection, Kinect, a bunch of tech demos, 3rd party games, PVR abilities and launch window.

What they likely won't show will be the price, an exact launch date, 1st party exclusives, barely if any actual game footage other than possibly a Battlefield 4 reveal, full hardware specs. I think they will leave the exclusives until E3 but will want the word out that the next Xbox will indeed get games by EA, Ubisoft and all that. They are likely to wait until E3 for final pricing and it will be two models. They may also take a note from Sony and wait until E3 to show the system itself but Larry Hyrb made a sarcastic remark about Sony's press event by unveiling the PS4 but not actually showing it. So I'm not sure they want to eat crow by not showing it on May 21st. They must however explaining the online connection requirements to disperse the rumors. They won't want to drag that until E3.

I thought they simplified the Rare teams. Team 1: Kinect, Team 2: Avatars, Team 3: Kinect 2.0

I think the Metro style Xbox logo looks great. However, flattened graphic design doesn't seem to register well with lots of, uhh, nerds. I see a lot of people complaining that they don't like MS's removal of the glass window effects and drop shadows in Win8 online. I could see them relaxing some of the more austere aspects of the UI to appeal more to the aesthetic sensibilities of gamers.

To be fair, WP8's instantiation of the Metro principles is leagues better than Win8's, or the 360's current dash.

http://www.vgleaks.com/rumor-video-sharing-new-friends-system-and-enhanced-achievements-for-durango/

The first part seems just quote from Polygon, but is the second part means vgleaks very confident about Durango won't require online?

Its official, Microsoft will present its Durango/new Xbox in May 21. That day rumors will become reality (some ones). Polygon has new details for Durango, like you can reckon, the machine will share some aspects with PS4. Alike in some parts, sworn enemies in others:

Video Sharing: Capture and share your videos through Ustream and Facebook. This system will allow the player to configure this tool under different parameters. You will be able to turn it on/off or record some certain moments. Moreover, this system will work like a DVR, so, you can record everything and just select certain moments to share, the highlights of your game.
Achievements: Once the games hit the shelves, the publishers will be able to add more achievements. This function could change slightly the players behavior.
Xbox Live: Microsoft wants to improve this service to get a better align with Facebook or Twitter. Forget the friends cap, this time you can choose to follow whoever you want. Xbox Live meets Twitter.

We want to stand out these points; we keep our word about the always online. Durango won’t need internet connection to run games or apps (Games & Apps that you can run without internet, obviously).

Thanks, Gematsu.

This is why I hate VG Leaks since they started and actually had news. They are just re-hashing/aggregating posts of others for Google Ads money.

Yep. Loved back when Mr. H (legit) posted.

Now that Mr. X has been caught re-posting other rumors as "facts" without any shred of insider information at all, you shouldn't trust him at all.

I'd be surprised if Microsoft didn't continue with their current, minimalistic branding for the system.

Given that the only official confirmation of the existence of this thing has referred to it as 'Darwin' and not 'Durango'...

Imagine if 'Durango' has never actually really existed :O

I don't believe it'll be always online either. However, Edge seemed pretty damn confident that it will be and that is strange to say the least. Maybe it was scheduled to be always online earlier in the game and they changed their minds?
