Sonic Lost World Wii U Exclusive

During the Direct I thought the screenshot was part of Mario & Sonic, and when GAF was excited about it I thought the title Lost World was for VC...

Now that everything's cleared up, I'm hyped! What a great regular partnership this is.

Here's a little tidbit for you, Sony turned this down for something else. I think this is a really impressive move from Nintendo though, and they've obviously gone even further in securing future prospects. It'll go a long way in building the Wii U identity. I know some folks are laughing saying Sonic doesn't sell millions, but I think Nintendo should be focusing on the larger collection of quality titles to make the system appealing. This is a step in the right direction.

Just a reminder:

Colors and Generations are considered to have broken this.

I'd say 50% (ok, 30ish) of Sonic Unleashed also broke this. Still an excellent game if you can work through the dull werehog stages.

I agree. The day stages, while not as polished as Generations (or even Colors for that matter), were enjoyable. It was also the game that I ended up getting used to Jason Anthony Griffith's portrayal of Sonic only for them to change him, lol.

At least we know the game should look nice enough with the bright locales the Sonic series brings to the table.

If you think about it, this partnership is basically the same we got on Wii with the Sonic/Nights/Olympic set of games. It's nice to see Yakuza in HD on WiiU although we've seen that (in Japan) on PS3 already.

Hm... Interesting concept art. I wonder if the hexes indicate that you can kind of create the world on your own.

Maybe each hexagon is a level and similar to the stars in Mario 64 you'll find new landmasses that you can place at one of the edges of the hexagon, which then becomes the next level. Or something. Kinda open world-ish, but still structured in levels.

I hope it's nothing like the last 3 games. I prefer the vastly superior Sonic Adventure Sonic gameplay and controls over what those other games provided.

Sonic Colors was the best Sonic game since the Genesis, and the first one since then I would rate as a good all around game, not just an acceptable Sonic game.

Damn I would give SA1 some love, I can understand the others after that being meh. Good news though seeing as I have a Wii U and could sure use some kind of exclusive content or content at all really.

Sonic Colors has shitty, slow platforming on most of it's stages. Generations did it better, IMO.

Still, an excelent game.

Anyway, I'm fucking pissed off about this exclusivity shit... god, why!? I was really expecting to play Sonic this year, now I'm never gonna play it. =/

Something else from Sega. New project.

you got a source or credentials or something. i don't see what SEGA has to offer someone like Sony besides PSO2 and Sonic. if they wanted talent, there's plenty of cheaper western talent with a higher hit record.

Hahaha! I remember that, the one game he was decent in was his last. I still like the new one better because he's not as serious sounding don't have to listen to CHAos emeralds :p
