Although I think people giving it 1/10 are being hyperbolic, I'm just as surprised at the people giving it 10/10.

Gave it a 6/10. With E3 right around the corner and only a 1 hour presentation I think they did a fair job. We saw the console, a demo of the user interface, a couple games that appeal to "gamers" and a couple games that appeal to a wider audience. The TV stuff looks cool as does the multi-tasking and I'm interested in seeing if it actually works like it does on stage. My problem with their presentation is that they left all the concerns people have been having since the first rumor trickled out unaddressed. We still don't know the extent of its required internet connection, we don't know how used games are going to pan out, and most importantly we still don't know what's hidden behind a paywall.

3/10. Their vision is ambitious, so I'll give them points for that. Everything else was pretty terrible.

This was actually the sticking point for me and the core reason I found their showing to be poor- their level of ambition was sorely lacking. They want to "own the living room", but it's so blatantly a goal based around market share and current trends in technology industries. You can see it in the use cases they present- looking up movie tickets whilst watching a movie (no-one will do this), chatting over Skype whilst watching a movie (no-one will do this!). Games + Skype could be cool, but the fact that the one obvious, novel use of the feature set they have built was clearly oblivious to MS when figuring out how to demonstrate it to the world goes to show that there is very little proper thought put into why the Xbone has the features it has.

I left with no clear an idea of why the Xbone was the way it was than a bunch of MS execs thought this would make them a bunch of money, because market trends! Their vision? What vision!

Yeah agreed. MS's vision as of late is 'what would publishers/advertisers want', not what the public would want, or in which way they would want to transform society. It's radically different from e.g. Nintendo's vision, who have this clear idea of wanting to bring the individuals of a household to engage with each other.

I'm afraid that MS's cynical approach may be more successful though, at least in the short run..

I'll give it a 3/10. Some of the stuff they're doing with the OS and quick-switching between apps/games/etc was pretty cool, and I'd be excited for that if the PS4 didn't beat it in, like, every other area. Everything else in the conference was PR fluff. And the news after the conference has been all sorts of terrible.

Normally I'd agree but there is nothing hyperbolic about giving it a 1/10 if you're a gamer who doesn't care about cable (or in a lot of cases don't even have it like myself), hate the kinect, and don't care about sports - or live outside the US.

As someone who only buys consoles to play their exclusive games, Microsoft's current direction hasn't offered much in the past few years.

3/10

1) They showed the console
2) They showed the controller (as ugly as it is)
3) ...ummm they showed the console

I got nothing else. Abysmal showing yesterday.

I gave it a 5 while only owning PS systems. Didn't go in with gigantic expactations on the gaming side of things and it helped.

Scary/10 :(

Too many things that are not needed and helps nothing, i really don't even understand wtf was that TV thing :s

8, pretty nice job.

Revealed the console and main features. Setting the stage for a game extravaganza at E3. Plus no akward BS, like in the pasts E3's. Well maybe the begining but what do you expect from an American company XD

1/10

They showed nothing of interest to me, absolutely nothing. This has to go down as one of, if not the most, underwhelming shows I've witnessed.

Haters gonna hate.. 7/10...not enough games. But e3 around the corner, so meh at the hate.

Question...the Xbox mini is a 360 that connects to the Xbox one to use its hardware? Confuse on this.

Please explain why you think they deserved a 7/10

No megatons.

No amazing features for everyone outside of america.

1 decent gameshowing.

A bloody tent...

If I took in to account the post reveal news, 1/10 with all the crap we're hearing about pre owned, accessories and power.

Really not looking good for X1 in the future.

1/10. Nothing important was shown. Too much "experience" and "content" (thank you Kyle Bosman) and not enough games. Don't care about Call of Duty or a Halo TV series or watching live TV through my XBox. Interest in buying next-gen XBox has flatlined to 0.

Just got an email from EB games here in Australia saying I can pre order the one for $899 AUD!!!!

Games are also down as $120 lololol

For showing off the features of the console, 7/10. They know what they want to make. But for showing off things relevant to gaming, 3/10. Nothing very appealing to me personally.

I don't buy the "left the only the core parts for e3"

It's never, ever ever ever been the case for anyone.

Microsoft will outline a few cool exclusive games but 60% will be apps, UI and kinect. Companies don't give up PR magnifiers like e3 so easily.

We have seen their last 2 E3s and there also was a bunch of entertainment horse shit in it. Also Kinect...

How many percent thought it was "good" vs "bad"?

If we see summarize the votes from 1-5 as bad and 6-10 as good, this is the verdict:

Bad: 89,25 %

Good: 10,75 %

That's a pretty large gap... Either E3 will save them or that's it for Microsoft.

Hmm, I'm catching up to speed with the Xbox One stuff. Seems I should just not bother with this conference ... I saw a tiny chunk with Spielburg talking about some Halo show thing.

I like the fact that they revealed the system, and showed us the UI, how you turn it on and use it with common tasks.
Its one of the most important thing to show because it is what customers will do a lot.

and thats it.. ! because i hate the minority report crap, i dont watch TV, i dont play COD and i Hate EA sports game.

5/10.

It was better than PS4 conference, but that is more telling about how bad both events were rather then how much better this one was.

A few days later, and I can't believe how much MS gave us the stick, and no carrot!

Are they stupid??

No Microsoft ... no.

3/10. That's all for the announcement of the 15 exclusives only though. Who knows how many are Kinect mini-games or generic sci-fi shooters.

1/10 where I live most of the features they showed are useless to me, then CGI trailers and some COD. I enjoyed the COD reveal trailer though...hence the 1.
