At half-time 60 second TV ad for Ghosts that ended with Xbox One 'pre order now'

Surprising. Pretty aggressive of MS.

If you weren't paying attention it would look like a 360 add, the Xbone logo wasn't imposing enough and it uses the same sound (though they did show the black box at the end, maybe some people noticed).

I am tentatively relieved, but won't be a confident of a Euro release this year unless no delay is announced by October.

Watched the game with a friend and the ad made us talk about new consoles the whole time. Good times. :)

Really smart choice of advertising space. And it felt like there was some actual "weight" or importance to it since it wasn't just a product name but an actual announcement. Well done, Sony.

This is all I wanted really, just a 2013 confirmation.

I guess Sony finally became smart and will let Japan slide into 2014. Or they simply have enough stock for everyone.

If MS were smarter, they'd have preemptively countered tonight's ads, or they will next week in Germany. Because guess who's sponsoring the winners...

I wonder if Redmond even is aware of this. :)

Doing it right. I'm still not convinced they'll be able to make a worldwide launch, but if anything they can just delay in Japan if they have to at this point.

september or august is a good month.
will give it a head start.
It won't release sooner than November anywhere. They want that Battlefield 4, COD etc and generally as much as time as possible for 1st party title refinement. They (like any other console platform release) won't have a problem selling all of their systems shipped in 2013.

Belittling your fanbase is generally not a good idea.

Europe put up with it, and MS was actually a contender here. In Japan its Nintendo or Sony. If Sony felt like it they could delay Japan for 3 months and unless something magical happens with the Wii U they probably wouldn;t even notice a difference.

Not that I think Japan is going to go out and buy the PS4 in crazy numbers.

In Japan in 2006, the PS3 only sold 81,000 systems in the first day, in the UK it sold 165,000 in the first 2 days, France about 80,000, Spain and Portugal slightly behind that, with Germany in the 50-60,000 mark according to Sony.

I expect it to be WW anyway.
