Kojima Pro podcast is back, called KP Alert

The first topic that was discussed was the Moby Dick Studio PR-stunt, for which they interviewed composer Ludvig Forssell.

Being Swedish, he helped create the Moby Dick Studio / Joakim Mogren thing, such as setting up the website. ‘Joakim’ being an anagram for ‘Kojima’ was a coincidence, or maybe a subconscious decision.

David Hayter (Big Boss), Robin Atkin Downes (Miller), Christopher Randolph (Huey), Antony Del Rio (Chico) and Tara Strong (Paz)

Tara Strong did some great voice work in those audio tapes from PW. So did Vanessa Marshall as Strangelove (wish she was returning, but I doubt it).

For what it's worth, Kojima tweeted two hours ago finishing a Japanese voice recording session. Were present: Akio Otsuka (Big Boss), Tomokazu Sugita (Miller), Hideyuki Tanaka (Huey), Kikuko Inoue (Chico) and Nana Mizuki (Paz).

This is really a boss cast, my god.

Guessing this is limited to the prologue if Chico is still voiced by a woman.
Could be finishing off the GZ portion.

Kojima is teasing the theme of MGSV.

4 letter word that ends with 'e' which is not "love", "hate" or "fate".

If we do the maths:

26x26x26x1 - 3 = 17573 possible combinations. Of course not all of them are english words.

I wrote a program in java that filters out the non-english words using a wordlist of 40000-50000 words and the final list of english words composed of 4 letters ending with 'e' turned out to be much smaller in size which narrowed down the possibilities to 372 words in total.

Here's the list of possible candidates for MGSV's theme:

How did you come up with math problem? I know there are 26 letters in the alphabet, but why use 26x26x26x3-1?
Also, how did you write a program in java? That's some cool as shit stuff. I want to learn that.

Sorry about that. It's just that with Sugita and Mizuki also being there, I doubt it's a recording for anything other than GZ (or maybe PP, who knows). But maybe Inoue voices YET another character. It would only be her, what 6th Kojima character?

Read about permutation and combination here: http://www.mathsisfun.com/combinatorics/combinations-permutations.html

The calculations I did is a permutation with repetition.

You subtract 3 from the total permutations(all possible cases) because Kojima said that "love", "hope" and "fate" are not part of the cases. In algorithms, we care about reducing the cases(space) for faster(efficiency) computations. Imagine how fast it would be if for instance Kojima said that the theme is composed of vowels only; that would reduce the space dramatically and you would have a total of 5x5x5x1 possible outcomes which is 125 themes to choose from instead of 17000. Out of those 125 only a few are english words so guessing the theme in this case would be a piece of cake.

I wrote the program in java because I am a programmer and java is my favorite language :p

Hate is my guess, also ties into Phantom Pain. AKA Pain can create hate. I agree that it sounds like the building of Outer Heaven.

"It will be open world unlike previous Metal Gears where you just show up at a stage and go in a linear path. Instead they want it to be "realistic infiltration", you choose how to infiltrate, where to infiltrate, and what time is best to do it. There could be side missions along the way that affect your objective."

Awesum.

IF this game is really for ps360 color me impressed. It looks way better then anything I've seen for next gen.

I have to agree, it looks very impressive for a PS360 title. Almost too impressive.

I think it's a cross gen title or at least started out as a current gen title and then maybe moved to next gen with an announcement for this at the E3 conference?

What if the word of the MGSV theme is in japanise this time but written with abcd letters ?

What if is an japanise acronym ?

If some possibly answers like Life, Hate, Rise, Home, Vice ecc are written in japanise instead of english how many of them could be displayed in 4 letters with "e" as the last one ?

C'mon "Japanise Gaffers" i/we need your help!

So, like, how is ground zeros going to be distributed? On separate standalone disc? Day 1 DLC? They already said MGS V: The Phantom Pain was for 360/PS3, whether it gets ported to PS4 is a different story.

It's not going to be a Japanese word unless the trailer has translator's notes.

They aren't telling. But I think it'll come earlier, the only hint could be Kojima talking about downloadable 'pilot episodes' a while back.

Because of the way the game has been demoed so far, I really want a next gen or PC version. I want something as smooth and crisp as these trailers

The reason the FOX Engine was developed was to make things smoother on a larger scale game(ex: open world). FOX was created for open world games first and foremost so Kojima and his team must have figured it out somehow. Kojima is a perfectionist and he won't release something that is not working or that is not golden. Golden rule: Whatever Kojima touches turns gold, deal with it.

MGS 4 ran at 20 fps most of the time, I really hope this game runs better than its predecessor, the game looking better than MGS4 shouldn't be its only achievement in the graphics/engine department.

PS4 title hopefully. MGS4 is nowhere near what we saw from the MGS5 trailers and gameplay.

That level of detail is not possible on current gen systems.

I LOVED the look of MGS4. It had it's short-comings though.
It had great art, but it wasn't the technical marvel that MGS 2 and to a lesser extent 3 were in their days. Installs certainly didn't help either. I wish they kept the lighting and filter from the E3 2006 trailer, but you could already see the technical issues they were having (that was already after being downgraded from the TGS 2005 demo) and they eventually downgraded it again. It should be different with MGS V. Now they've had plenty of experience with HD development and are working with an engine that is designed to be very flexible and scalable to many platforms.
