TRUTHFACT: MS having eSRAM yield problems on Xbox One

Well obviously it remains to be seen, still they seemed confident about what they'll be showing at their supposed "games only" E3 this year.

In the end, people will bend... if they can stomach it.

Wouldn't be surprised if the "games journalist" play turncoat.

There's a big difference here.
ONE game that you won't play endlessly compared to a system with so many flaws you need to endure the entire gen.

I find it extraordinary that Microsoft would stumble at silicon+heat *again* at a new console launch. I mean, they really understand silicon business wise. The shrink roadmap and IPR ownership structure of 360 was masterfully executed, and an integrated single die solution from day one on a new console has insane potential for their bottomline, competitiveness and pricing. Yet they stumble on something as trivial as yields out of control...? Does not compute.

and what about those on the other 16 pages? Did they get MW2?

and

Is easier buy in a impulse a 60 dollar game than a 200+ game machine.

To be fair, the poster may have been lurking ALL THE TIME for that year. There are hardcore Jaffers that don't post.

To be honest, they could have just been approved after a years wait.

The thing is there is way too many fucking juniors running around at the moment who seem to have just popped up and are extremely vocal against the big bad Neogaf Bullying of the Xbox one.

And they all tend to have accounts that were created around about a year ago.

Im getting too aggressive with suggesting they may be astroturfers but something is definitely up at the moment, that is for sure.

DITTO! I want the 2005 MS. Not the 2010 and onward MS! This is truly unbelievable!

Sadly, the Xbox brand from 2001-2008 has vanished once J. Allard, Peter Moore, & Robbie Bach along with the old Xbox team had either left, or gotten the boot.

There's nothing but people in suits running the show now.

I am still in shock at how big of a clusterfuck this is.

● The worst most, mis-communicated reveal in game industry history other than maybe Saturn.
● Once every 24 hour internet check just to be able to continue to play your games
● A horrendous proprietary used game system that gives pubs and Microsoft a 10% of the profits, thus ensuring the deals one can get on Used games are reduced and having less options for every gamer
● Complete inability to rent, lend or borrow games without paying a "fee", since every game must be installed. And the fee is the price of a brand new game, which Phil Harrison tells us to "think of it like a new game", because he is an abominable retard.
● Complete fucking tall tales and fabrications regarding the "Infinite Power of Cloud" which they did because...
● ...their system is a woefully underpowered trojan horse arbitrarily increased in price because of...
● ...a piece of shit dead-end gaming technology called "Kinect 2.0" which on top of being complete garbage for most genres, also is packed in with every system and...
● ...is also a horrendous invasion of privacy since it cannot be shut off without unplugging the system.
● A console which is also, after all this time, having massive eSRAM yield issues because Microsoft is caught rushing the One to the market.
● And they wasted their reveal talking about TV, TV, TV, TV, TV to do a function that nobody in their right mind would do if they had a DVR, to talk about sports and Kinect and have only two real games at their reveal.
● And is now liberally peppering all their attacks with a unhealthy dose of aggressive arrogance.
● On top of that gigantic shit sandwich, they have now also canceled their post-E3 media roundtable, presumably because they're tired of being eviscerated and embarrassed non-stop since January 2013. Once again, because of shit they did and no one else.
● Plus their presentation of their OS at the media reveal was confirmed to be completely fake, which wouldn't have been terrible except the entire time of the reveal they were trying to convince people it was real. "See how fast this thing moves!?"

DID I MISS ANYTHING GUYZ? Because holy goddamn shit at this point. This has been without exception the most biblical epic failure of console reveals, even topping the PS3's $599.99 just for its sheer confounding, aimless nonsense since the beginning of 2013. Not a single day has passed by without some relentless bit of tortuously negative Xbox One news.

The kicker? This is ALL Microsoft's fault and they should have seen the reaction coming a mile away since the problems they introduced of their own free will has been eviscerated among gamers and the press for years now, to say nothing of things like the Sim City or Diablo III debacle.

The proof is in the pudding. Holy goddamn fuck

Yep, Cancelling Pre and Post e3 Roundtables, Adam Orth fiasco, what about the current high yields and rumored downclocking.

Thanks. Here is the full list right here now, so it's even more inconceivably awful. you guys are right.

Of course, it is all sourced and most of it is definitely not speculation anymore, but whatever you need to tell yourself to keep yourself together, have at it. I don't require living in that particular dreamland to get by, so whatever floats your boat.

I still don't understand why Bish hasn't followed up on his post about it all...

Wow, I'm a Xbot but if this shit is true then I'm heading over to the Sony camp. I don't want to hear about cloud making it a level playing field. Your about to lose a diehard customer...

This motivated me to go through the recent posts of our favourite insider, here's a summary of all the truthfacts (can't guarantee the interpretation!):
  • Dead Rising 3 = exclusive
  • ALL XB1 titles must have smartglass features
  • The only reason EA is killing online passes is because they are going with mandatory online activation
  • MS is 6 months behind in software development
  • Respawn's new game is a timed exclusive on XB1, may also be on PC
  • XB1 used to be always online, changed to every 24 hours after outcry
  • Dragon Age 3, Mass Effect and Battlefield 4 are not exclusive
  • Primal Carnage: Genesis is not a good game (ok, that one is not a megaton :p)

Plywood

NeoGAF's smiling token!
That could happen if they can actually deliver on what they show off at E3. I'd hope they'd be smart enough to show off actual gameplay on finalized hardware, but if there is degradation between shown and final product, the Internet won't forget for some time.
I don't disagree, now would be a good time to try and show what the hardware can do and people aren't exactly going to jump for joy over CG trailers.
Is easier buy in a impulse a 60 dollar game than a 200+ game machine.
There's a big difference here.
ONE game that you won't play endlessly compared to a system with so many flaws you need to endure the entire gen.
People always find ways to justify the cost and caveats of whatever they buy. While others plain and simply just don't care and put up with it because they can.
and what about those on the other 16 pages? Did they get MW2?
I'll be honest I wouldn't know. :p

I only care so much because I have supported them for two generations and hate where they're going.

To these people, they should be allowed to endlessly and repetitively state as many positive things about Xbox One as they want and that doesn't make them a fanboy, but others are not allowed to endlessly and repetitive state as many negative things as they want over the system - even if it's excruciatingly sourced, even if the problem in this case is monumental in comparison to the problems introduced by prior platforms - and then they're a "troll."

These people are not to be taken seriously, obviously.

Can't speak for all, but I was largely Xbox-centric last time around ago and 360-only this gen. I think I have, perhaps not a right, but certainly a privilege to complain about and/or laugh at Microsoft's missteps.

Don't take this mess personally. I don't think you're on Microsoft's game payroll.

Unless you are, of course. I don't know you, so I guess it's possible.

Of course. Phonomezer is simply a flag holder trying desperately to place himself in a field of fairy dust, rainbows and unicorns because it's easier for him to do that then face what is the cold, stark reality about Xbox One. It doesn't matter what you tell him, he'll just try to convince himself of something else so that it doesn't break the narrative needed for him not to have a nervous breakdown over how bad things have been for Microsoft.

Everyone knows 360 was my favorite console of the entire generation up until the last year and a half of its life, and that was simply because of Kinect and the changed focus of the system. Before that, my favorite was PS2 with Gamecube close behind, but I had lots of Xbox games I loved (true Phantom Dust and Orta OG, nizgos!). It doesn't matter, because to someone who plays companies instead of games, it's a foreign concept buying games instead of companies.

A reader who has all the systems minus wii u. Neogaf is good for news that hasn't hit other sites yet. If I'm defending the Xbox one, its because I'm sick of all the negativity.

Are you speaking about yourself here?

So you are saying that you are trying to fool yourself (his question was who are you trying to fool)?

That's some serious self-ownage

Well the bullying is getting pretty crazy even for NeoGAF standards I feel. Usually all the digging for bombas happens in one or two threads and not across an entire forum, but... MS kinda asked for it with the last showing, so I think it can be tolerated at least until E3 stuff has settled.

I guess everyone needs to embrace the chaos for a few more weeks.

I'm still buying XBONE at launch. I can't help buying them all for some reason...

Holy shit....

So...From what I've learned on GAF consensus is that whatever the majority of the forum agrees on, the opposite will actually happen.
I.E.: The Vita. Everyone thought the Vita was the best thing since sliced bread and looked what kind of sales its getting.
The 3DS: GAF thought it was the best thing since Vita sliced some bread and the system is only just hitting its stride.

Lets see what happens with the XB1 and PS4.

the steam pic is funny and some of the people saying they wont buy the xbone will probably end up doing so, but a console is a larger investment than a $60 game. It will actually be sad if all this anger and fury leads to nothing and people buy it regardless, I don't see how that's something to be smug about.

I've supported the xbox for two gens despite some awful bullshit. It won't be easy to walk away from that, but there's so much about this console that I don't like already.

i don't believe this. noted industry expert and insider arthur gies assured us all that microsoft were way ahead of sony and had their shit together ;)

Seriously... Microsoft, just bite the bullet and delay the Xbone until next year. Get your hardware shit straighten out, have your development tools mature and launch with better or on par hardware and at a better price.

The Vita is still amazing, but it's a small demographic that can use it. That was known from day one.
And the 3DS was openly mocked from day one because of the low resolution, terrible battery life and ugly design.

You seem to think there's a single gaf mind.

Aren't people still happy with their handheld purchases? both vita and 3ds owners? I don't get your point.

I fully agree, not everyone has iron will, if a person sees something like they like and they really want then chances are they'll buy it. Simple as that.

  • Microsoft still has bad indie policies, causing them to lose indie support to Sony
  • Xbox one's developer tools are actually behind Sony's and MS is behind on first party development

The PS3 reveal was laughable. The XBox One makes you laugh too, but its a nervous laugh, like the one you give when an ex girlfriend calls you and tells you you should get tested.

This is to quiet down some of the already few (proportionally) people that care about low GPU clock speed and bad yields and everything (DRM etc). The rest of the potential customers, who are a completely different group, are not going to give a damn, because they are not aware of these "details" at all. They are just gonna buy that damn thing. Unfortunately. People on GAF or generally on gaming forums, although critical, don't mean anything to MS at this point. It's fairly obvious.

the mainstream will buy only after the hardcore....only hardcore gamers buy at launch...casuals tend to wait.
