Only 14 black Orcs between me and that fabulous armour.
And my mighty Marauder, basically the only one still standing, BREAKS HIS FEET FINGER, pratically unable to move now.
A dead still target.
But I will take down with me as many Orcs as possible.
For the glory of Sigmar.

I LOVE this game.

I'm curious.
Does iCloud in FFT allow to use BOTH the HD version and the 'normal' one synced?
Because if not....how many people own multiple iPhones or multiple iPasd???

Considering they are 2 different apps-I can't imagine the syncing working between the 2.

Kingdom Rush Frontiers is $3 for iPhone and $5 for iPad, right?
Pretty sure it's $1 for iPhone and $3 for iPad.

I can't wait to hear more impressions, I love the original but I played so much of it that a couple new units and branching ability trees for $5 hero units I'll never own aren't going to cut it for me.

I understand that the game won't be drastically different, but I hope new enemy and tower types change the way you strategize enough that it doesn't feel like the first game with a skin.

I just want to say that I really enjoy our little forum here. It's impossible to go over to touch arcade to read about a game. Everyone there right now is complaining and bitching about the price of KingdomRush and the cost of IAP.

There's people who can't handle the idea that the game progresses from easy to normal to challenging and doesn't stop there continuing to very difficult. Because they can't win the difficult levels they complain about the IAP ruining the game, as if the levels all have to cater to their (lack of) skill. Yet there are youtube videos of solutions to the bonus levels with no/minimal hero involvement and not a single IAP for these difficult levels. The game just allows for hundreds or thousands of ways to approach a level, and very few work in the difficult stages, as opposed to nearly all the ways working early on.

Pretty sure it's $1 for iPhone and $3 for iPad.

It's going to be $3/$5 I think. "A couple new units" is a bit of an exaggeration, all 24 of the level 4 tower abilities are new, and all the heroes are new as well, in addition to many enemies, and the tower power ups.

Lawl, those whiny c-suckers. I spent 6 dollars on the first Kingdom Rush to unlock the premium content. Worth every penny.

Kind of on the fence on whether i want to play the new one on PC or IOS.

Is all the new towers are? I haven't been keeping up, that's pretty disappointing if true. In my experience it's more more efficient to fill spaces with towers than to upgrade just a few. Maybe that will change, but I hope there are entirely new towers as well, not just fully upgradable ones I'm not going to get much use from outside of easier difficulties.

I hope I'm right about the price too, it's not big a difference but I haven't seen anything that suggests it'll be $5, so finger crossed I won't have to shell out two bucks more than I'm expecting.

is it confirmed for PC? i havent been able to find anything ;____;

some of the legends look interesting, but this $8 dollar number i see floating around to unlock them is turning me off. i don't mind buying one to support the developer, but... $8 decreases the chances of me going in for a second; unless the game really impresses me, then...

Don't buy the extra heroes if you don't want to. They weren't necessary in the first, and according to beta testers, they aren't necessary in this one either. Upgraded towers output much more punishment and better abilities than heroes anyway.

It is confirmed for PC/Mac (well flash anyway I think), probably Steam as well after the first is out on Steam. Just no dates for them yet.

It's up on the Australian store:

AU$2.99 - iPhone (KR:F)
AU$5.49 - iPad (KR:F HD)

It will come out on ArmorGames at some point.

How does FFT play on the iPad mini? really considering pulling the trigger.
As well as it does on the ipad. I worried the menu options would be too small, but everything works just fine. Looks great with the graphics update too.

Man, they took some shortcuts with Kingdom Rush Frontiers.

Same exact sound effects as last time? Really?... :/

I love the Kingdom Rush guys-but releasing this as 2 separate apps with no iCloud support is serious bullshit. There's no excuse.

KR Frontiers review from me will be up tomorrow but the game is great and you should buy it. No review needed, really.

I'd love to see the tower dynamic changed up more significantly. My one real con is that the game feels too much like the original. But otherwise it's all awesome

They just released an Ace Patrol update that gives more differentiation to the different countries.

Added Special Nation Abilities:
- British pilots can perform one extra high-G maneuver
- German pilots earn their special ability after only two victories
- French pilots avoid capture after forced landings
- American pilots return from injuries one mission sooner

Thanks. Interesting, it was not possible some times ago (syncing different signatures apps).
I still think supporting this kind of things is bad (companies that publish identical apps as different, trying even to prevent you from running the iPhone version on iPad) but still...

Welp, Frontiers is $5. I bought it but it won't load. The progress bar just stays empty, if I tap the icon it says "Paused," if I tap it again it says "Waiting" for a bit, than "Loading" but it doesn't actually start loading. I've never had this happen, maybe it's because the game just came out?

Edit: My iPad now won't download anything, even old apps off my purchased list. Anyone had this happen to them?

Cool, thanks for clearing my doubts! Definitely interested now. Hopefully they'll also bring over the Advance games.
In the end War of the Lions is similar to a remake of the PSX's game, right?

Anybody so kind to gift me the game (US account)? I'll PayPal the money in advance, PayPal's fees are on me of course.
Or you can sell me a $10 iTunes card.

So, unfortunately there's been a little misunderstanding...
Anybody here who needs a CANADIAN store code for Final Fantasy Tactics?
Help a brotha out so that we can rectify and grab me a US store code for the same game.

Actually I played it before and I felt a little bit lost but I gave it a try again and I actually really like it. Thanks ;) Plus this game is just too cute! Still, Half-Minute hero would be perfect for iOS.

The sprites are pretty much the same as HMH. They're by the same artist, Ayaka S.

Here's some info that ought to help you beat the game.
Hero AI types:
いのちしらず Fearless - Charges in at top speed, never retreats. Charges monsters near by.
かげき Zealot - Charges in at top speed, retreats last minute. Charges monsters near by.
ねっけつ Hot Blooded Charges in at top speed, retreats at 40% health. Charges monsters near by.
れいせい Calm Charges in at normal speed, retreats around 50% health.
しんちょう Careful Slows down around midboss/boss, retreats around 60% health.
おくびょう Wussy Slow. Retreats very quickly. I give these guys red bandannas so they get the "Hot Blooded" AI, then make them fighters.

The top 3 personalities make for great fighters, Calm and Careful make the best mages while wussies get glasses or bandannas to change to Calm or Hot Blooded respectively.

There is 1 fairly broken combo of giving a fighter type an armor that really boosts magic power(cursed armor, wine red with big shoulder pads) and then giving them a healing staff. They'll just bash bosses til they die. It's glorious.

Notable items are the White Robe which reduces revival time, the EXP UP shield which is a dark red and black, the mirror shield blocks projectiles, the red scarf you can earn in infinite challenge will make your character super fast regardless of what you equip them.
The big hammer has the highest attack of any weapon but it is really heavy. Wait til your heroes have enough speed stat to move fast with that big hammer before using it.

Need a JP iTunes code to make a JP account? PM me and I'll sell you one.

Yeah I've had that happen to me. Try this. Log out of your account in iTunes Store. Then hard reset your device. When it comes back up, sign back in.

Thanks! I didn't quite do that, but after Googling the problem I signed in and out and then did a reset. It seems like it worked, but for some reason it's downloading really, really slowly. Like after 45 minutes the progress bar is a out a fourth of the way through. It's not my Internet either, Safari still works at normal speed, and the Roku is streaming as well as ever. Annoying.

I have no need for a Canadian FFT but I can still gift the US version to you for cost. Drop me a PM with an email if you still need this.

Thanks man but first I want to resolve the code situation, if anybody here is interested in getting Final Fantasy Tactics and uses a Canadian account I'll give 'em the code, I'm not going to pay twice for the same game before I get rid of a copy :p

Did the IAP heroes on the original Kingdom Rush ever go on sale? If so, how much was the discount?

It went on sale at one point a few months ago for 66% off for like a weekend. Brought the extra heroes down to a more reasonable price, but still not "let me buy them all" or anything.

I agree re Kingdom Rush but at the same time I have no interest in playing on my phone when I can play on my mini. I guess having the option would be nice, but I'm sure I'd never use it. Anyway, Frontiers is good fun, even if it is more of the same.

This little game was released today and I decided to check it out since it's for free... first of all I'm bit disappointed it's not resized for iPhone 5 I thought Apple would be a bit strict on releasing new apps like that oh well.

But it's a fun take on Dungeon Crawling, you whack attacks at your enemies (attack has a cooldown period) and need to time the blocks right - exploration, equipment, everything is streamlined a lot but just look how adorable this game looks. You've got different jobs and the game itself is quite unforgiving - it's not as easy as it looks.

Now, give Half Minute Hero on iOS :O

EDIT: Of course it's called Deep Dungeons of Doom :O I forgot to include the name, sorry I'm silly! Thanks Pray For death for clarifying this

Been playing this since it was mentioned in the thread and I love it. The art style is fantastic. Took me a while to realise that the enemies tend to attack on a cycle so it's a matter of working out when to attack and block, and also that holding down the attack button performs a secondary ability (regain health or mana or perform a more powerful attack), but now that I know that I'm really enjoying it. The animations are superb and the pixel art is really great. The fact that it's free is just the icing on the cake.

Is the music not working a common bug for Kingdom Rush Frontiers? I have restarted the app a couple of times but cant get it working.

I bought Frontiers on iPad this morning (haven't played it yet, though). I never expected it to be a universal app because there were never rumors that it would be. But still...

This sucks. The game is basically two separate apps, with two separate save games. Hell I'd pay for the game two times (iPhone and iPad) if they'd let the saves sync. What incentive is there for anyone to buy this game twice, if your progress doesn't even sync?

I don't have time in my life to play this game two separate times in parallel. What I'm saying is that I'd begrudgingly pay $8 to have it on both devices, but since the saves won't sync, I'm only paying $5. So they're losing money.

They said they're adding iCloud support in an update, so the saves should sync then I suppose. I just play on one device, so it doesn't bother me.

Not sure why that would need to be in an update; that's the kind of thing that should be a major feature in the game on day one.

Anyway, I know my complaint doesn't apply to everyone. But I'm in the not-too-uncommon situation of having both an iPhone and an iPad, and I expect to be able to play the game regardless of which one I have in my hand.

Admittedly, my iOS dev knowledge is a bit rusty these days so this may have changed to be possible. But previously at least it was impossible to iCloud sync between two separate app SKUs, which this is. Short of making say the HD edition universal and enabling iCloud save game sync (or using a third-party save/sync system) I can't see it working. At least if you're looking to play on an iPhone and an iPad and not two iPhones/iPods or two iPads.

Curious how the iOS ports of FF3j and FF4 came out. I know they are a bit pricey, but did the visuals get overhauled a bit from the DS games? Anything lost or lacking?

Very much debating double-dipping on them.

FF4 is a very clean version of the DS game. Plays great, but there's a catch: even though it is an universal app, it has no cloud saves. So, pick a device to start on and keep playing on there as you can't play back and forth : /

That's what I knew too, but I asked some hours ago and apparently FFT sync between HD and normal version (or I understood wrong).

Still....I really think Apple should force Universal apps with iCloud sync (for both devices syncs and 'delete at will' features).
It's not a price concern...they could ask double the price for me, but it's stupid to have two times the same game (on devices, on backups...).
Not to mention two separate game progression, expecially in story based games.

I know than many would say that iPhone only apps, with a lower price point, would have an easier life on charts...still I think the Universal+Sync thing is a PLUS of the iOS ecosystem and should be enforced and advertised more (by Apple, in primis).

Well if iPhone only apps and iPad pads can now sync through iCloud like mentioned before / in the FFT thread, then having separate apps gives the advantage of letting the apps have smaller file sizes, universal apps would need to support the iPad retina resolution, while iPhone resolution is significantly lower.

This is a fair point.
Excluding Square Enix apps, that is :p

Anyway imho the best thing to do, like some devs do, if not a single Universal app is having two apps.
Universal and iPhone only.

First I've heard of iCloud working across two different apps. As far as I know that would be new tech supported by Apple.
