Final Fantasy XV - Main characters and Japanese voice cast revealed

I really want a Noctis x Stella romance in the game. I'm worried because Normura said he prefers stories of friendship rather than romance.

XII had virtually no romance. XIII failed to deliver in the romance department because Snow x Serah was awful and they really dropped the ball not pursuing Noel x Serah.

I didn't know Nomura said this, I love the man even more if true.

Much prefer when they don't try to force a man and woman together just because they are in leading roles. It's nice to see a Man and Woman be friends.

Also, if there is one thing XIII-2 did right, it was not forcing Serah to cheat on someone who dedicated his entire life to making her happy just because it had a new male lead.

Yep, I think PS Stella should give up her female lead role to black haired chick. The new design is far too generic. She doesn't look like a woman, more like a young girl. Black haired chick is far more striking and memorable now. She has the right amount of badass to her.

Can you imagine new Stella in a similar scene to that 2008 trailer where she gets all angry and is ready to fight? No, just no. It'd be like staring at Barney the dinosaur like he's supposed to be a threat.

Suits are terrible now? That big fella does look silly with his shirt open, but otherwise there's nothing wrong with the outfits.

They all look terrible. Japanese fashion can be great, but you wouldn't know it from how fucking stupid Nomura's outfit designs are. Nomura always takes things from the Japanese fashion industry, but ugly it up aka Nomuralize it. Nomura is a terrible representation of what Japan has to offer in regards to fashion.

Square should go to some of the Japanese fashion designers and let them design the clothes for the characters. Nomura is shit at fashion design. Let people who know what they are doing handle that.

Not sure if that's sarcasm.

Ok sounds like it isn't. The costume designs are made by Roen, not Nomura. He did exactly what you suggested :p

That's exactly what they did. :lol Costume design is by Hiromu Takahara of Roen. Compare Noctis's clothes in the old CG trailers with what he wears now.

Here's to hoping that black haired chick is a villain who is redeemed, and survives for the future sequels, whilst Stella dies like a tragic heroine in FF15.

Nomura has said that we will see the game at TGS.

Nothing has been said about whether or not we'll see the game again before that.
Nomura said we should expect FFXV in big events of the future and yeah, used TGS as an example. Hopefully it'll be at Gamescom as well, though isn't that right before XIV 2.0's release so they might just push that a lot and let the team focus on XV so that they'll have something that's even further along to show a few weeks after Gamescom at TGS.

Well, like I answered to that same guy: "Sorry to tell you, but at least the last time Nomura talked about it, he said Final Fantasy XV(/Versus XIII) wouldn't have much in the way of romance. Although Noctis <3 Stella is an obvious choice based on what we've seen so far, that simply isn't happening because this game focuses on friendship (the good & bad of it), not on romance. "

That at least according to Nomura a few years ago.

Hopefully that sticks. If so I'm even more excited for Versus XIII then I was before.

It's going to have romance guys. It may not be the entire focus of the story like in FF10, but I'll bet you on the death of Stella that it'll be given a good focus throughout. It was obvious from the beginning (a male hero and female hero on opposite sides of a war, oh so tragic), but the new trailer with that childhood scene just makes it even more clear. Nomura just probably doesn't want people to think that it's the central focus of the plot. Who knows? He may say something else in the near future.

Of all the companies he could choose he chose Roen? Comme des Garcons, or Yohji Yamamoto would have been better. Roen runway stuff has obviously influenced Nomura for a while now. I'm not surprised he went with them. He shouldn't have though.

Comme des Garcons? People would've hated him even more. Your fashion elitism is pretty stupid.

Interesting stakes.

I wouldn't expect her or Noctis to die (who will lead the sequel???), but maybe they'll be turned into crystal like Fang/Vanilla Ice.

But that would go against what Nomura has said about the game, that it'd focus on friendship, all the good & bad stuff that comes with having close friends.

Ignis Scientia (Mamoru Miyano)
A childhood friend of Noctis who grew up recieving gifted education befitting a staff officer. He understands Noctis well and is his confidant.

I hate Tetsuya Nomura's way of designing characters but I like the one with glasses. However, I hope he won't be stereotyped as a calm/intellectual guy because of the glasses.

Good luck with this.

I think he looks pretty damn good. Someone needs to 'shop him with black hair so we can see what he really looks like.

Seriously. Prompto's overall demeanor is so unique, the fact that he doesn't "look good" is precisely why he is good!

Of course the game will focus on friendship, I mean all the playable characters so far are Noctis' friends (except Cor I think) and they and their interactions will be the focus.
But that doesn't mean that there won't be any romance, just that they won't focus on it.

It's obvious that Stella is meant to be Noctis love interest, let's not forget the whole "A meeting predestined by the divine" thing that they have mentioned in every trailer.
Even the new trailer seem to cement this idea with lines like:
Stella: I can't stay any longer.
Noctis: My heart won't let go.
Stella: Don't worry about me. Live your own life.

If I had to guess I would say that Stella will leave Noctis at some point :p
But yeah, I think the game will have romance like most of the Final Fantasy games have had, even if it's just a little bit.

You know, those CG renders are really strange... because the in-game CG movie doesn't look anything like them in terms of uncanny skin texturing.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

Prompto is the one who really sticks out TBH. He looks completely different in the trailer (see Battle Trailer).

Lastly, we have seen Noctis fighting soliders on wall. It was actually shown in the 2008 reveal trailer and now they seem to have implemented it along with the Bullet Shield thingy.

I guess that entire segment of the invasion was transformed into gameplay and cutscenes.

Obs: you can change the size of the gifs by modifying the "s300" part in the url. "56k warning", though.

It would be hilarious if XV pulled an FFVII and has differing levels CG used throughout the game.

I hope they redo the CG. The standoff scene between the elders looks plasticy.

yea like for the old guy

they look almost different character, or the second one looks like 10 years older than first.

I expect different quality of CGs throughout the game since I don't think they will scrape the older CGs

In the E3 trailer the only old CG they kept was the scene you posted and the Noctis car scene. The CGI in the latter was really amazing though - they definitely can work it in just fine.

I don't think so. In the second pic the hair is a lot longer than the guy in first pic

If you watch the beginning of the trailer White Hood is talking to a Niflheim solider, and when he turns you can see the Niflheim logo on his purple shoulder protector thing. He's obviously on their side, so it makes sense to place him next to Idola Eldercapt when they're stealing the crystal. I think it's him.
