From what we have seen so far of the two titles I agree entirely. What was so creative about the new 3D mario. Cat mario lmao give me a break. The principle of knack being able to take in different objects and therefore change powers, be affected by different hazards, do different moves, and grow is more creative than anything out of 3D mario.
Note I am saying more creative, not a better platformer.
You really want to argue about creativity when Nintendo actually created a competitive 4 player multiplayer platformer with various approaches that's obvious through one trailer? Cat Mario looks way more fun (and kinda broken Cat Toad top tier) than this corridor platformer. Not to mention I'm sure 3D Mario has and been had all that you mentioned. For god sakes I can do divebombs now.
C'mon, if you look through this thread you've all came to any rationale possible to make it better than it seems. What's so creative about it? I'm hearing all of Cerny's sweet talk of all these pieces and Knack doesn't do a damn thing creative wit em. The only real creative thing about Knack was the character design, after that seeing him in action is downhill from there.
2 Goblins with bubble guns!

Time to go down the hallway.Even the escort/stealth/ice missions looked just as boring. It doesn't push challenge (family friendly is not a valid excuse, if a game is genuinely good, kids will play that shit no matter how hard it may seem). It's similar to a me too game but severly half assed, yet you guys praise Cerny's name like the second coming of Miyamoto, even compared him to Miyamoto and said they should work together. (lmao)
It's like a lesser version of the Force Unleashed, but colorful.
And as much as I love color..... colorful visuals do not equal a good game.
Also, PR aside, what have you
seen in the video that's a good example of the shit they're advertising? Don't be a sucker.
Keep in mind, creativity is the very thing that makes a good platformer. Mario's been interacting with the environment since 96. With the basic 3D Platforming mechanics combined with new attacks, and various abilities gained from powerups.
Do you really think you'd play Knack twice after beating it?
[EDIT: Just to clarify, no vitriol or anything, but I do get a bit passionate when discussing gameplay sometimes.]
