The combat mod on TW2 feels like the game is running a lot smoother than it actually is - even @ ~30FPS!

I lover the POM(?) in C2 myself. Hell, the pallet is even better than C3.

This is the best 3D experience in gamin I've ever had, and this last section blew my mind. Also, for those who've never played in 3D, the water is pretty much completely transformed.
In TR the water is normally nothing to write home about, but in 3D, it's some of the best water I've ever seen. This is one of the games I really want to play with an Oculus Rift.

I find with the slider all the way to the max the FXAA and SMAA combo really doesn't look good, at least on my end. The FXAA just blurs everything way to much. I'd go with the one notch down, which is just SMAA and then downsample from as high a resolution as possible. It's what I did for the above shot and it cleans up pretty well I think.

Sorry Antitrop, I had a few with the Vanilla Alyx, but in most scenarios, she looks very out of place with Cinematic mod. Some scenes, she's fine, but others, all you can see is the low quality textures.
In Vanilla, it's perfect, but in CM, only one in many shots is good. I'll try not to use too many Alyx shots, though, as I know some people are "Sensitive" to that, but this one I think turned out nicely.

Nothing like a bit of Half Life 2 Cinematic Mod to bring out the PC gaming snobs.
Seriously, people have the attitude that HL2 is some kind of work of art that shouldn't be touched, and when it is, the stream of vitriol and abuse it provokes among some PC gamers is laughable.

We're all of the opinion that the cinematic mod makes the game look WORSE. The characters look like shit.
The creator has no bloody cohesive art direction. Just "higher res textures hurrrrrrrr."
Spazznid can post whatever he sees fit, but I want to make my opinion that the mod is generally upsetting to look at whenever there is a character on screen expressly clear. I would be lying if I said I didn't like some of the purely environmental shots, though.

Cinematic Mod is just so symbolic of every shitty texture mod out there. they take the occasional liberty with a few things and then suddenly they are 'fixing' what Valve originally intended, then lo and behold stripper Alyx. It's awful.

FAKEFACTORY is one guy.. He does all of it. He has been pretty much the only one working on it since like version 5 or something. He is still working on it at this very moment. He began working on it back when HL2 was a baby. He still uploads his work and fixes bugs for the few who enjoy it. I agree the characters look like they came from planet stripper. But it's his project and he can do whatever the fuck he likes with it.
And, since he's about to release version 2013, you can bet you'll be seeing some more of it.
Some of you will be happy to know, however, that Alyx looks less Alien than before. He's made the lips and brow smaller, and the face is less wide. She still looks like a stripper supermodel, but w/e.
He's getting better, and you can tell that by looking at his early stuff...

Project Cars is the only one that really impressed me on this page versus some of the next-gen console screenshots. My Internet's too slow to make browsing the other pages quick and fun.
