How? Souls fans would pick up both of them if they own a PS4 or just Dark Souls 2 if they don't.

You aware that both Dark Souls games are only published by Namco in the West right? In Japan they're published by FROM themselves. I doubt Demon's Souls 2 would effect Namco's opinion of FROM in any way.
thought SCEJ published it in Asia?
If it's to be unveiled that's where it will be.

Demon's Souls 2 is definitely real.
It's not a problem with being pit against Dark Souls 2 because Demon's 2 won't release until afterwards.
And Demon's 2 is PS4 exclusive, Dark Souls 2 is for PS3/360.

I'm about to geek out a bit so bear with me.
I reckon a Demon's Souls sequel could easily take place in the Northern land of the giants. That was the first realm to fall to the influence of the Old One, so I would assume the demons there would be the oldest, biggest and most powerful. I'd run with the premise that the demons there were powerful enough to survive even without the influence of the Old One, and subsequently other smaller demons would feed off the power of these ones - just like a pyramid, but with the top level removed.
I agree with this. Even if they're making another similar game is just seems like they would eat into each others' sales if the pump out two identical games at once. If From is working on another RPG I can see it being in the same vein as Souls but having a few unique elements and a different name to differentiate it while still appealing to the same crowd.

I think it likely that Sony outsourced the IP for next gen platforms, rather than made in house. If you look at that latest screen grab for DD, it is the spit of the Souls games (the one in the cavern)
We also know Deep Down is a working title.... Why would that be if it is to be playable at E3 next year?

I am aware. Dark Souls only sold ~500K copies in Japan. ~2 million copies not sold in Japan. Also, According to Atlus, Namco paid good money to be the western publisher of Dark Souls. You are insane if you think Namco won't be pissed if FROM works on a basically identical game with someone else and cuts them out.
Yeah, even though the retailer is reliable when it comes to shopping there, they have made stuff up when it comes to games before.
I remember when they had Legend of Paper Zelda for Wii U up 2 years ago, before Wii U even was released. They have since removed it at some point in time, so I can´t link it.

what if sony went to From and is publishing demon souls 2 and is not going to be released until 6 months after dark souls 2. how would that screw namco? Sony owns demon souls ip and they work independently with sony and not be worried about what namco says because namco doesn't own From.

I used to think that it was ridiculous to believe that a Dark Souls 2 and Demon's Souls 2 could exist on store shelves at the same time, but then I realized that this series is probably the one in existence where every single fan will buy both games no matter what. Hell, if they were exactly the same game except one had an extra boss battle and a rare set of armor fans would buy both anyway.

I think it likely that Sony will want another Demons Souls game to be made, because it is an exclusive using a popular IP that they own.
We will see DeS 2. But it will not be from FROM.
