Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

Played first Killzone match. Went 35 - 21. The player count doesn't really matter much since the smaller maps mean you'll be bumping into people quite a lot. That and the fact Warzone games tend to last longer than your standard TDM means you'll be racking up the kills/deaths.

Death animation is glitchy but beta is beta. Couldn't figure out how to use most of the vanguards. If you get shot from behind it feels way too slow to be able to turn around in time.

The game was so engrossing (feels just like Killzone) I barely even had time to marvel at the visuals but DANG MAN LOOK AT THIS GAME.

EDIT: Oh shit son, you can buy the incendiary shotgun as a secondary weapon. I know what I'm aiming for.

Me either. I don't even like shooters. Or Killzone. Or awesome graphics. Or vita.

SCEE should hand deliver all codes to you Dave. Tirelessly promoting the Vita in every thread imaginable should not go unrewarded.

Did you hear that SCEE?

meanwhile I'm still downloading. 31 minutes to go.

Thank you. They've upset me so much that I started crying and my tears smudged my 'Vita & Me!' charcoal drawing. I don't even think I can finish the poem that was supposed to go with it now.

Sniffle. Enjoy.

i had no idea we had so many junior vita owners here...

I am a perpetual junior (aka *lurker)

I've only played one game in the KZ:Mercs beta so I might not be the person to give an in depth impression. I can say it is graphically stunning and respawn seemed very fast. My initial "wow" was how fast and fluid the gameplay was... particularly for a beta. At one point someone had used a melee finisher on me and that seemed to take forever. Card system seemed pretty neat. I died once stealing a card from somebody elses kill.
On the main menu, waiting for the game to start, one of the tips said you could link up to your teammates on party chat. Not being a multiplayer aficionado, I don't know if that is unique to this game.

So tempted to go preorder Dragon's Crown with my gamestop credit. But I know it's unlikely I get around to playing it because of SMT4 and having Disgaea/P3P on my Vita.

But it looks so fun...

So I pre-ordered Rayman Legends for Vita. And Rayman 1 (PS One Classic) has appeared 5 times in my download history :S They must really want me to download it.

I have a memory card with a PSN EU account and want to buy Muramasa (US). Do I need an extra memory card for the US savegames or does the Vita just save them on my memory card with the EU account?

Physical or digital version of Muramasa?

I have a physical copy of it and it saves fine on my EU memory card.

There's an option for Party matches in KZ:M. I can see us doing a bunch of Vita GAF matches. That would be fun.
Cool. Shouldn't be too hard to round up eight people for a full game.

I wanna explore the maps to have a look at the layout and dem graphics, so maybe some of us could just have a wander together, lol.

My first round impression:
Feels like a competent shooter ruined by my inability to twitch-aim. If someone is moving I cannot shoot them. It's hard enough trying to play analog shooters in the first place, trying to do it with the Vita's incredibly small and low-movement nubs is almost impossible, especially when you're put up against bots that have no issue pointing perfectly at you.

It also has that god-awful COD-esque habit of purposely spawning you next to people, I was consistently killed immediately after spawning, and the other god-awful COD-esque habit of getting killed from behind /constantly/.

Seemingly no way of leaving a lobby once a match is over outside of closing the game? Forced touch control is poop, why can't I buy guys with the buttons? Why can't I do anything with the buttons?

But maybe I'll warm up to it..not the second part, though.

Seems like I didnt get in. Ah well, guess ill wait for the beta where i can use the Home code or the public one. To everyone that got a code, enjoy!

You can quit after the next map loads up.

The only problem I have with the game is spawn points so far. They're not always a problem, but occasionally. I had a real hard time aiming my first couple of games but I'm perfectly fine now.

Actually Muramasa appears to be one of those few games that saves directly on the game card (only other I know of is Touch My Katamari).

But to answer Gala's question, no don't worry about it, retail games always work regardless of your PSN account region. Only downside is no DLC (and in cases where online requires an online pass, no online for you).

KZM finally downloaded. My god I wouldn't believe something as good looking as this was possible if I wasn't looking at it..

Return of the chirp. I'm in love.

They should really let you leave without waiting the huge loading time of another map..
Maybe the Motion Sensor aiming will make it doable for me.

A question for people playing KZM Beta. I have played a few matches but have been unable to figure out the hacking minigame. Anybody know how it works?

I wonder if I forgot to sign up to it. I'm pretty sure I did though, off the other thread where it was posted.

ok so - i want some impressions. theres been a trickle, but with how many people have the beta i need more!!

unless it's so much fun that people are glued to their vitas.

Game is amazing. I can't wait to play it with some Vitabros. Best UI yet in a KZ game and I like the way the game operates with the arms deals, Van-Guards and Valor cards. It's pretty incredible really.

is the STA-14 in KZ:M? that was my favorite gun in KZ2 and they completely ruined it in KZ3 lol

It's there, although I haven't bought it yet so I don't know how it is.

I had to put it down for a bit due to old man hands and them cramping up so I'll give you some very early initial impressions.

The fucking thing looks gorgeous. The lighting is great, good draw distance, I haven't noticed much frame rate dropping only 1 or two times when there were fucktons of shit going down around me. From a technical standpoint I think it's pretty damn solid for a beta.

From a gameplay perspective the controls work how they should though it is a bit awkward to double tap the rear pad or tap O to run. Aiming is all Killzone all the way there is a certain weighty quality to it. I'm sure you know well if you've played the series.

I haven't unlocked any additional classes but I know they are there because I've been getting sniped, blown up with rocket launcher, killed by drones, ect.. I'm pretty terrible at the game and FPS in general but it's got a fun quality to it that I enjoy. It is so rewarding to get that chirp when you get a kill and then go take the dudes valor card or whatever.

I'm not hip on the terminology in the game but Valors must be important because the announcer is constantly going on about them, oh and Vangaurds too. Have no idea what either are. I look forward to playing it some more but this might just be the game that will make me finally go buy some sort of gamepad case for my now naked Vita.
