Every Xbox One Includes a Chat Headset!! + Xbox One Day One Unboxing

More 180's. Major Nelson is such a terrible spokesman. He should go on one of those TV Shopping Networks.

Dat awkward moment when he pulls out the huge power brick.

Do you really think that company like Microsoft has one dark evil philosophy, to gobble you up and take your money and laugh at you while doing it? This sort of self-fulfilling prophetic thinking will allow you to assign any positive they do, as a negative. What's MS's dark plan? To make money? Guess which company has that philosophy?

All of them.
A dark and evil philosophy? No.

A philosophy that doesn't ultimately have gamers at its core? Absolutely.

Logical thinking wouldn't even doubt the inclusion of a headset. It's one of the reasons Xbox Live is where it is today.

Logical thinking would be to understand that MS wanted to save some cash and have people use the kinect 2.0 for chat but then they realized that chat with kinect was not going to work as well as they thought it would, plus they said hey this could be good pr and might boost our pre-orders

Another question this brings up. Only 20 of these "final" boxes exist? Well if they can insert a headset this soon before launch, why can't they insert the Day One patch on a disc? Isn't logistics of inserting a disc in all the already-produced boxes the reason apologists said it couldn't be done? What's the excuse now?

its pretty obvious that they were always planning on a day 1 patch. Allowing more time to make sure every feature in the OS works accordingly.

It gives them an extra few months to polish the OS which is always a good thing

If Microsoft would say on the E3 stage that there would be no headset in the box, you'd still find a headset in the box. It's one of those common sense things, regardless of what MS sais.

Ahh, so you're one of those hindsight geniuses! While I've got you on the line, what where last week's lottery numbers?

Unlikely. 5GHz isn't something they can just toss in the box. They'd have to submit it to the FCC for approval.

I thought the PS4 had 5 GHz ; (

Vid was nice, tell me that the overlay will work with Bell Fibe (Candian version of AT&T) and I will probably do the pre order switcheroo

Funny enough the best feature for me is the HDMI in as I am out of ports on my TV and will probably keep my PS3 around for a while longer

You're probably right. They're doing the same thing with Forza 5 after all. Shipping an unfinished retail game, and requiring a Day One patch for it to work.

I'm not sure I get the (some of) GAF hate towards power bricks. My current Xbox brick is beneath my entertainment center where I literally never see it. So that is where the Xbox One brick will go; so can you help me understand the dislike here?

Maybe it's just me but I don't mind external power bricks at all. I'd rather have a quiet and cool system over a built-in power supply. I don't know how Sony is doing it but I just feel like there is going to be a problem with it down the line.

So you can't use an off the shelve bluetooth mic? I'm completely ignorant to Xbox accessories.

i don't know if they clarified this, but on their previous console, they only allowed their official wireless headset.

they even made a second revision that was dual mode, 360 and BT (though not simultaneously).

Ps4 doesn't have one, so they don't think that Xbox one should. I think the Xbox one design was meant to go a safer approach and prevent as many hardware problems as possible after the 360 launch console issues

Agreed. After the experiences of this gen, I'm fine with putting a premium on reliability and quietness.

Don't care as it goes behind my unit. Sony has better engineering experience so I can not see a problem with it being internal for them (has been for all the PS3 models)

That said, it pissed me off to no end when I traded my PS3 phat for a PS3 slim (eb canada was slow to update their trade in values so it cost me $1 extra) and the slim was way louder.

Great choice on the headset, but..

I can remove that sticker, what I can't change is the damn front only USB ports on the PS4 when I get it. WTF were they thinking?

I only dont like it b/c I have a space problem and its just one more thing to find room for on my entertainment center.

its nit picking. I personally prefer this design choice since it eliminates a huge source of heat thus allowing a quieter console.

To be fair, I embellished a little in stating that it would recognize the products you are using for targeting advertising, but from their advertising team, it is definitely going to be used to help produce more targeted advertising.

I remember reading this. actually, the fact alone that they already have an API especially for advertizers is shameful on its own.
tsk tsk
