I think cboat is someone smart high up and deep in MS.

I don't think your average person would reference the management as " leadershitfailure.p" unless it was disgruntled employee.

And he/she is smart enough to write in an encoded way so no one will pick up the their writing style to reference with.

I wonder if MS is going through the division trying to find this source.

What if CBoaT is the neglected foreign wife of a Microsoft Exec? This is just her way of getting back at her husband. Taking what information he tells her, and putting it on GAF, and essentially trying to make a breadcrumb trail back to her husband to get him fired. But people keep thinking the posts are worded in such a way whilst missing the obvious that they belong to that blonde, Austrian wife of Bob. That's the real tragedy.

You're still the most knowledgeable pair of buttocks I've ever seen.

The guy has been doing this since he registered on GAF, in 2004. If they didn't find him before, they won't find him now.

I think CBOAT is more some kind of proxy...a third-party relaying information from some middle-level management at Microsoft.

Just remembered. Wasn't CBOAT the one to say the 360 was going to have overheating problems before it even launched?

So he knew of Red Ring of Death before it even materialized? Jeez to have that level of connections

More next week? Wow, alongside gamescom that could be fun.

I like the 'caught out by Sony changes' part. Mode me think how an Xbox one vs a 2GB Ps4 would have been a really strong offer from MS, and people would have waited potentially with a delay

is next weeks news related to this?

maybe because of the yield issues they're going to do something with the esram?

CBOAT hinted at a good Xbox One related news some weeks ago. I wonder what he was referring to...

He never specified good news. He simply mentioned potential cancellation, and speculationGAF went loose, somehow believing that it was the cancellation of one of their bad policies. At this point, I think the cancellation might as well be the Halo TV series, but that's baseless speculation as well. Either way, it was never indicated if the news was bad or good.

He said he would get confirmation in mid September, so I suggest everyone sit on their hands until then.

I can imagine Ballmer calling him into his office.

"Tell me, Greg (or other generic name) do you like riding on... trains?"

Greg bolts out of his chair towards the door, which Julie has now deadbolted and is blocking.

Julie's the mailroom lady. I think you're referring to Cordelia.

Haha CBOAT fanfic :p

He as specifically referenced Microsoft as "our" in a previous post talking about Dead Rising 3 exclusivity. He said, (and I'm paraphrasing here LOL) "DR 3 is exclusive forever because that is our money."

Who is CBOAT?

I have three theories.

1) He/she is a Gaf timetraveller from the future. (FutureGAF2023) The inside info he obtains is actually common knowledge in his future as their getting ready for PS5 and X2 over there.

2)He/She is the illuminati.

3)He/She is an AI, like GW in MGS2.

Great observation....
So, He/she is a part of MS or the Illuminati then.

Wait wait. CBOAT might be a MS employee, but GAF loves CBOAT. Why isn't reality collapsing all around me and everything molecule of my body exploding?

CBOAT is a NSA analyst... he has full access to the MS corporate emails and finding the gold there. That would be ironic.

CBOAT is the closest thing to a messiah, GAF ever had.
If he gets banned around XBO-launch, that would add martyrdom and he would become legend.

CBOAT and this thread in particular are the reason I joined neogaf. But after watching all the Juniors who I assume joined around the same time as me get banned, I mostly just lurk and try not to post anything to shill-y.

Anyway CBOAT never disappoints. Looking forward to more truthfacts next week.

lol right there with you man. You get strung up quick around here, so lurking might be our best option.

So,

2005 xbox360 stuff he leaked was true.

And now the GPU up clock was true AND the delay due to eSRAM

Ill never doubt him again, but wow how does he know yield problems??

I think if CBOAT's identity is ever revealed, I think we will NEVER see it coming.

Pretty much.

What I always wondered is whether he/she is actually multiple people all sourcing info to one person to leak vs. high enough to have personal knowledge of all this.

If he works at Microsoft then he clearly has to be careful of false leaks being given by "buddy nº1" especially considering Microsoft is paranoid with leaks (the custom made zebra pattern on Durango).

Ubisoft did it a couple of years ago when everything was leaked by their employees. They started leaking rumor 1 to employee 1, rumor 2 to employee 2 and then waited to see which rumor got out to the games press.

It's obviously Pachter. He throws us off with his mild mannered "Oopsy, looks like I got another important piece of industry analysis wrong again!" schtick. But don't be fooled.

i wonder how many employees with cboats level of access to knowledge who were presentin 2004 are still there 9 yrs later...

im really buying that cboat is more than one person, or at least not the original cboat.
