What if CBoaT is the neglected foreign wife of a Microsoft Exec? This is just her way of getting back at her husband. Taking what information he tells her, and putting it on GAF, and essentially trying to make a breadcrumb trail back to her husband to get him fired. He never specified good news. He simply mentioned potential cancellation, and speculationGAF went loose, somehow believing that it was the cancellation of one of their bad policies. At this point, I think the cancellation might as well be the Halo TV series, but that's baseless speculation as well. Either way, it was never indicated if the news was bad or good.

If he works at Microsoft then he clearly has to be careful of false leaks being given by "buddy nº1" especially considering Microsoft is paranoid with leaks (the custom made zebra pattern on Durango).

Ubisoft did it a couple of years ago when everything was leaked by their employees. They started leaking rumor 1 to employee 1, rumor 2 to employee 2 and then waited to see which rumor got out to the games press.
