Happy I never considered an Xbone. As a gamer there is absolutely no reason to buy an Xbone over a PS4, unless of course you want Titanfall this year and don't like playing on your PC.

There'd be no military, police, fireworkers, hospitals, roads and the like without them. Thankfully for you, you live in one of the world's wealthiest countries, so you don't need to care too much. The oil pays for most of that. Taxes are low in Saudi Arabia. 0% VAT, which I think is what you were talking about, and only 2.5% income tax. That's quite ridiculous compared to Europe. Corporate tax is 20% though.

Microsoft has done this since the initial announcement show. It feels like they think gamers are stupid and if they wave a shiny thing in front of gamers faces that we'll eat it up and won't bother researching further. Soon it'll be, "Get a free car with the XboxOne" with the fine print reading "Only if you go out and buy a new car yourself after you purchase the XboxOne".
I seriously don't understand what happened with them. For the first few years of the PS3/360 gen they were killing it. Is it because they lost a couple of people like J Allard? Just doesn't make sense.

All that info was in both original press release, I think it was clear enough from the start. The confusion comes from people gathering indirect information from hearsay and partial reports/translations of other declarations.
It's everything that's wrong with communication on the internet : everything was clearly stated in the official sources, but the more people talk about it without reading them, the more confusing it gets.
As if you needed small drawings to make them understand how preorders work...
Microsoft continues the trend of shooting itself on the foot... why couldn't the program extend to all the pre-orders? I wont buy a Xbox One or PS4 on launching day, but if I did, I would buy a PS4. And I have a X360 and not a PS3.
Portugal was already a major Sonyland (attending to the country size and population) and I believe most of the fans Microsoft had managed to get here will change sides.

Word! Every preorder in the delayed tier 2 countries gets one game for free (supposedly Kinect Sports Rivals or Forza 5). Every preorder in the european tier 1 countries gets FIFA 14 for free (as a downloadable copy, not preinstalled). Every preorder in other tier 1 markets might get a game as well, nothing announced yet.

This is all about keeping pre-orders from being canceled, not about boosting sales. They know their preorder numbers behind the scenes are a disaster and this is desperation. I don't know how many times it needs to be stated before people get that.

Not looking to preorder cause I still don't know which console to get but wait, where in hell did they say you would get 2 AAA games for free if you preordered before August 20???
If this is true, MS communication is really shitty has it would surely have pushed me over into preordering early knowing I was getting 2 full games with the price of the console alone :/

Seems like NA preorder numbers are good. Oh and $499 = 373 but instead we pay 499 . The free game just reduces the premium price we have to pay in Europe. Even with taxes included X1 should not cost more than 450 compared to the US.
