Warframe on PS4 is a timed exclusive.

More games for everyone creates a better ecosystem for game developers and gives more options to fans.

This seems like positive news to me.

Every single self-published title announced for PS3/4/Vita so far are all timed exclusives, given by how they're called console exclusive debut

There was never any doubt that self-published titles weren't coming to Xbox. The only ??? in regards to such titles was Below, Minecraft and World of Tanks.

We already know Below is a timed-exclusive, and Minecraft will be on all Playstation platforms. World of Tanks is still unknown.

Yeah I figure all these f2p games that are not from SOE will find their way to XBO. Though the devs for War Thunder said they won't do it because Crossplatform support is required between consoles and PC and XBO won't support it.

Games like war thunder and FFIV are not coming to Xbox because of MS's no Crossplatform policy. They need to fix that.

Nice, was hoping this would come to XO. Looks like we won't have to wait very long.

I'm pumped about F2P on consoles.

Incorrect.

It's a F2P game, they want to be in as many markets as possible. It's safe to expect the same for all but the Sony funded/developed games.

Sony to trade Warframe exclusivity for Titanfall.

Cool. Have they confirmed cross-platform (PS4<->PC) play? Also, can I use my account for the PC version on the PS4 version (I don't see why you couldn't)?

Timed exclusives are pretty annoying, at least everyones getting it in the end.

Timed exclusivity in this case was mainly due to Microsoft's policies though.

If they had self-publishing set-in-place months in advance, Sony's lead in self-published titles wouldn't be this huge.

Makes sense, if a game is third party it should never be assumed anything other than timed exclusive at best (this goes for pretty much any console), unless Sony/MS/Nintendo are directly funding and publishing (think Rime, Dead rising 3, and Wonderful 101). Third party exclusives are a thing of the past nowadays, devs have to make their money back. Hopefully it won't be behind the paywall on X1.

Now people care?

We haven't heard a word about this game after it announced at E3 but all of a sudden it's important...

Wonder if Warframe on the XBO will be cross platform like the PS4 version.

Planetside 2 is going to be the best of these F2P console endeavors. I've played them all on the PC, and PS2 is the only one that has kept me engaged for an extended amount of time.

Well i don't think is worth paying for a timed exclusive of Warframe.

Based on interviews with the developers, it didn't have anything to do with paying for exclusive time, it had to do with Sony's willingness to allow for Digital Extremes's patching schedule when MS wasn't. Apparently that's changed, but clearly the PS4 is still the priority while the XBO version will be hammered out after the fact.

I doubt any exclusive F2P game on the PS4 involved money changing hands, timed or otherwise.

We needs lists people.

It really depends on what constitutes as "indie" I suppose. I can think of Rime, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and Murasaki Baby, but with the teams behind those games getting help and assistance from Sony, it's difficult to say whether or not those are strictly indie games.

It's just a sensationlized thread title. It's more accurate to simply say indie and f2p titles are starting to make their way to XBO due to the policy shift.

Saying things like "timed exclusive" for games like this is reaching as it was never claimed to be exclusive other than it just hadn't been announced yet for XBO.

It's not like it was like World of Tanks and Sony had these guys on stage proclaiming "only on PS4" or anything.

I'd rather just called them self-published games rather than indies.

Of course there was, it all depends on whether the studio wants to port them to the Xbone in the first place. If they don't then it's not going to happen, is it?

Not sure why this needed a thread to be honest, this was the entire point of self-publishing: To not be a dick.
