Is the video in the OP from the (current gen) console version? Cause that was a blurry and jagged mess with pop in everywhere. Looked to be running at about 20 fps whenever the guy turned the camera too.

PC version
This doesnt make any sense at all. How did it go from the first version we saw to this? And there is no reason for any pc game to be that blurry. And the framerate? Whatever set up they were running the demo on at 2012 E3 has been surpassed by now. How does the framerate get worse???
Yeah, I'm such a troll for thinking a multiplatform game is good looking. Amazing logic right there. The difference between us being that I don't shamelessly troll with an obviously fanboyish 'agenda'. A simple avatar makes one a fanboy not.
We need to see the same scene from the reveal video in the final build, that'll put the discussion to rest. My gut says they won't show it to us again, and when consumers get their hands on the game it will look worse - I just wonder whether reviewers pick up on it.
The initial reveal demo was an even earlier PC build and it looked way better than this PC build. Hence why everyone is saying there is a clear and obvious downgrade.
As for the gameplay problems....well, that's not going to change in any build. They have Ubi-itis and unfortunately there's no currently known cure for it.
Just out of interest, why are you excited for GTA V? I wouldn't peg you for being into a Rockstar game. I haven't kept up on that game like most of GAF, so the only interesting thing I've heard is the character switching. As long as it uses the Euphoria engine and hasn't improved on controls, I'll never get into it.
Why would reviewers pick up on that? They just need to judge how the final game is, not whether it lives up to what was shown or promised earlier.
Because it's going back to San Andreas, and I don't mean the location. They're bringing back so many of the fun stuff that used to be in the series before 4 and doing even more new stuff like having an explorable ocean floor. No one makes open worlds like Rockstar so if they bring the fun stuff back then no one can stop them.
To inform the people purchasing the game that it does not look like they may think it does
But that's not really what the point of a review is.
How do people know it was the PC version when it was using PlayStation buttons?
Earlier in this thread someone confirmed it via a post from twitter.
After seeing ACIV today and Watch Dogs yesterday, I have to go with ACIV. They are so similar in nature but Watch Dogs seems so bland and boring. A big empty city with just a bunch of traffic lights and roadblocks to switch on and off.
Going with ACIV. I'm sure WD's graphics and the game itself wont disappoint in the end but damn, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed.
I still think people are jumping the gun a little early with WD. We still haven't seen any of the actual story missions play out or see all the different hacks we can carry out, there are a lot more than what they've just shown us.

You're not expecting deep or varied missions in a Ubisoft game right? Most of them are going to be go here kill guys, go there chase guys.
I mentioned this already but I feel like we've already seen most of the important and common types of hacking. If we're lucky there will be some 1-time instances in missions where you can hack special things and make unique events happen but the rest will be hacking people's phones, cameras, laptops, traffic lights and those traffic blocker things. And to be honest they've shown all of those soooo much in these videos that I'm already bored with them before I've even touched it.
The Sony conference gameplay from E3 was a mission I think.
The game is starting to look more boring after each new video.
so that crap was even the PC version? facepalm
I hope ubisoft will address their engine problems as soon as possible. Far Cry 3 was awful on pc and not even close to what was promised at E3
I don't see what's the fuss about Infamous SS. Other than the characters it doesn't look particularly ahead of GTAV.
yeah sure
Right, but was it a full mission from beginning to end? It didn't look like it.
Good point, I think that after letting T-Dog escape, the escape from the police is up to the player.
I liked the part where the random abusive boyfriend has a gun and vaults over like 4 fences
I never really thought about that until now lol. That part would've been a lot cooler if it was realistic and the guy got more and more tired after each fence hop. Then out of breath grabbed someone on the street as a human shield or something out of desperation.
Edit: Just realized I'm a member now, thanks for having me GAF!
As well as the beginning when Aiden is in the car, I doubt the mission just starts like that.
This is a Ubisoft game.... Might want to temper your expectations.I still think people are jumping the gun a little early with WD. We still haven't seen any of the actual story missions play out or see all the different hacks we can carry out, there are a lot more than what they've just shown us.
