I don't think Sony's foray into China is official yet. They're obviously looking to enter though, with all those localization announcements.

It's ended.

No new title announcements. Only megaton is that PS4 will be released in December 2013 in Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea and HK, ahead of Japan.

yep pretty much. sony did they they will make some ps4 units locally as well, so those are assigned for Japan most likely.

my launch ps3 bought in Japan was made in Japan.

Well, it's flat, so you don't really need a stand, but it looks cool and give you more of a stable base. I'm going to get one eventually.
