It's game related, people. They put the dev logos on the site, and no movie stuff. No Arc logo either.

It's P5. Platforms are a crap shoot.

.. What at that last bit?

New character that has red hair and a X shaped scar across his face. According to some people he "looks like Yu" even though I don't see the connection.

It better be Persona 5 or there's going to be a lot of this

What if it is Persona 5 and there is a lot of that :O

November is going to be an interesting month.

*Board the hype train*

Imagine if Sega think Persona series is not selling enough in NA and Europe and they decide not to release it in English that would be bad ... I mean very bad !

The Yakuza games sold like absolute dogshit in the west. Apparently P4G on vita(in the US)>>>>> every single Yakuza game released this gen combined(or something like that). Persona will be fine. EO though...........

Huh. Weird.

And let's nip this shit in the bud right now:

P4Golden either outsold or sold pretty damn close to the same amount that P4 did when that came out.

It did fine.

Because the engine/assets are already there because of P4G and it would take literally no effort to put the game on vita. They barely need to "port" the game, the game is essentially already there. P4G sold more than the original P3, FES and P3P on a platform with a MASSIVELY lower install base. Obviously the fanbase is on the Vita, the engine/assets are already on the Vita. So why wouldn't another release of Persona 3 be on Vita?
Just off the top of my head, because you can already play Persona 3 on Vita.
I know most Atlus fans get super pumped to rebuy games they already own (or maybe that's gamers in general), but I think it would make more sense to put it on the console with the much larger install base, the majority of which don't own Vitas (but may own PSPs) and are therefore less likely to already own Persona 3 and so may be more likely to buy it.

Source? Everyone seems to have their own "facts" about Persona sales figures around here.

A Persona "fan" would be happy no matter where a Persona game ended up.

pretty much this. I prefer it on the 3ds because of the second screen for the map. but i will buy it as long as it is on a 3ds,vita,ps3,wii u.

no ps4 please

Why would a Persona fan be happy about a Persona game on a 3DS? Persona has never been on any Nintendo platform and it will probably stay that way.

Believe it or not, not all Persona fans are fanboy system warriors. Some of us even own 3DS's!

The collection of sales figures I keep in my colon? ********? Some bum on the street? Tales the My Ass?

I'm on my phone so I'm not pulling them for you, but figures from Famitsu/Media Create on here, as well as official figures from Atlus. They literally announced two weeks ago that P4Golden shipped 300k.

Charlequin and others would have more official things (like they did for AA5) but I don't pull bullshit numbers. It's real close.

You assume that Atlus won't add any thing substantial to P3 vita. Oh and P4G sold more than the persona games did on PSP(and the PS2 Persona 3 games) so 3DS owners being more likely to own a PSP is irrelevant and if they cared about remakes on PS3 they would have put P4G on PS3 and at least made it a multiplat release between the two but they didn't. The engine/assets are already on Vita not PS3 or 3DS, it would require little to no man power to put it on Vita and P4G sales prove that the fanbase is on Vita. There is no reason for it to be anywhere else. If we use your logic, Spike wouldn't have released dangan ronpa on Vita because they can already play them via PSP emulation. If use your logic, Namco wouldn't be releasing God Eater 2 on Vita because they can just download the PSP version. If we use your logic, Sony wouldn't have released Over my dead body on PSP because they can just play the PS1 version(the PS1 version sales on PSP was the reason they ported the game over in the first place). If a Persona 3 remake happens, Vita makes the most sense.

Shin Megami Tensei IV say hi!

Nocturne is the only original SMT game on a playstation platform, all of the others were on Nintendo platforms. Hell, strange journey was supposed to be SMT IV and that was on DS. You also have to look at the budget of that game. 3DS was the perfect platform for it.

I would cry if Persona 5 was a portable game like some people are hoping. Persona has such great stories, it would suck if I had to keep it all to myself and my wife couldn't see it while I play.

Persona 4 was just as enjoyable for her to watch as it was for me to play.

That's why sony has the vita tv ;)

Didn't mean to offend or anything. I remember that thread now, I even posted in it, lol.

Best case scenario: Persona 5

Worst case scenario: Narukami and Sonic at the Olympic Games.

This made me laugh for real :)

Yeah I'm not too worried i was just joking and imagining a worse case scenario :p

Lol don't worry dude. I'm just being a doofus.

But yeah its a footrace at this point. But consider one game out on a huge install base in 2008, and one was on a struggling handheld in 2012.

Mind you shit could go weird here. Who knows?

But since Playstation Blog, I'll say PS3, with a possible Vita version with an outside shot at PS4 (through Sony request) or PC (through Sega mandate).

The rest is unlikely, but possible!

They could easily use the SMTIV engine for a 3DS port. Some minor tweaks to add 3D models for combat, remove 2/3rds of the demons, etc.

Most of your examples seem to be completely irrelevant so I'm not sure what to say in response to them except that. God Eater 2 is releasing concurrently with the Vita version, Over My Dead Body was not a PS1 classic, so PSP owners could not play it on PSP until the port came out...

Persona fans are certainly on the Vita, and Persona fans on the Vita itching to play a port of Persona 3 have been able to since the day they purchased the system.

Why not release the port to 3DS? It can handle it fine and any portable RPG fan would be remiss not to own the system by now.

Anyway, I don't care where yet another Persona 3 port might ever land so I'm going to stop arguing about it.

Atlus said a while back after Catherine/SMTIV that their next game (AKA P5) was going to run on a custom engine made by them (no Gamebryo etc). That could mean a lot of things, but to me it means current gen consoles.

And if it's current gen consoles, I dunno if 3DS will be able to cut the mustard. I tried Racing Transformed on that. It hurt me deep

Edit: or I could read the whole damn thing and see you're talking about P3. A derp am I. My apologies

I would love to play Persona 5 on a console. I get why people prefer portable for those games (believe me, I spent 250 hours + on Persona/Shin Megami games on my PSP/Vita). It's a great experience. But after playing the Persona fighting game on PS3 and seeing how crisp and beautiful the animation looks (the dialogue parts), I would love to play Persona in HD. Catherine was also an incredible experience.
