You can get the deep blacks and sharpness by adjusting your TV.
Some of that seemed like blur though on the PS4. Little tiny bit of vaseline.

Give me PS4's resolution with the XBOX's sharpness & pop. Please & thank you.
Can't we just merge the two consoles? Take the best from each?
1600x900 is a disappointment. My roommate plays BF4 in 1920x1080 and Ultra Settings with an HD7870 (I'm not sure about the framerate, though). It's even more so disappointing after seeing the Killzone Shadow Fall graphics in 1080p.
The One looks more natural and filmic; not as sterile or angular as the PS4.
At first I was on the XBone version looking good compared to the PS4. But after seeing the detailed gif comparisons... Hands down the ps4 takes the cake.
Edit:
The ps4 version has HBAO and it still holds a higher frame rate AND resolution? Yeah the XBone is completely outclassed.
Like, seriously. I've read the first few pages of this thread and yes, I understand sharpening, contrast, flat black levels, etc. Has it been answered why the PS4 version textures look flat-out blurry in some parts? I mean, crushed blacks can't explain why I can see this dudes hair pattern clearly in this .gif but the PS4 version that detail is blurred. Does it have something to do with AA? A filter? The scaler in the PS4? My PS4 BF4 launch bundle is still a go, I'm just curious.
I'm going to bed.
Going to be tough cycle for them./r/xbone celebrating like that just won the console warz
need those xbone colors, man
Wow what a flat out lieHaha no
Can this be put in the OP?
Video Gamer Comparison:
I found it to be a much better comparison than Digital Foundry.
Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4 looks stunning, with DICE clearly utilising the consoles additional firepower to yield a superior image quality on Sonys machine. Images are pin-sharp, appearing to run at a native 1080p and fluid 60 frames per second. But while the Xbox One version effortlessly maintains the same frame-rate, the image quality is perceptibly worse, sporting a softer, jaggier look that carries all the hallmarks of a game upscaling from a sub full-HD resolution. My suspicion is that the Xbox One version is rendering natively at 720p before upscaling to 1920x1080, although DICE opted not to confirm numbers when confronted about the resolutions of the two next-gen versions directly.
To some people, the difference will be negligible. Battlefield 4 on Xbox One is still visually astounding: the lighting and particle effects particularly during the single-player campaign - are remarkable, and the fact that DICE manages to maintain a fluid 60FPS without a hitch is truly praiseworthy. Both versions offer a noticeable step up over the current-generation far beyond just the frame-rate, and while there are subtle differences in quality between the top-end PC version and next-gen console, few PS4 players will likely complain about the magnificent visual experience on offer here.
But to those that do care (presumably those of you reading this), the difference in image quality between the two consoles is clearly visible. In the Xbox Ones case a hugely important launch title for Microsofts machine- it makes the step up to next-gen that little less spectacular, signifying a trait players have been used to for years on current-gen consoles and an obvious step down from PC.
Holy shit @ missing x1 texture detail on the arm. It doesnt make sense... Why would they use another texture ? Maybe its a placeholder?

Those PS4 multiplayer videos look good. Gameplay-wise I mean. That's an amazing engine DICE put together.

I cannot see a noticeable difference. It is amazing how people are so fixated on pixel count. The HTC one has a 400+ ppi count vs iPhone's 300+ ppi count, yet the iPhone tends to be the benchmark screen when it comes to cell phones. It just goes to show that pixel count doesn't mean everything.

Serious question: are your eyes strong enough to see difference in this?So....
Xbox One version looks better?
Apparently my eyes aren't strong enough to see the difference.
Look at the ground textures. Are we 100% sure these aren't mislabeled by DF? The so called "XO" shot looks like it has much better texture detail.
DF capture is terrible. Looks totaly different ot JF

Yeah it looks like 2 different versions of the game. Why would they flatout change the uniform texture. Makes no sense.Holy shit @ missing x1 texture detail on the arm. It doesnt make sense... Why would they use another texture ? Maybe its a placeholder?
Both of them look like a jaggy mess to me. Anyone that's smart and can afford it will build a pc for multiplatform games.
Is 900p and blurry textures next gen?
From videogamer.com:
And with the console war heating up as we edge closer to the next-gen launch, DICEs shooter may end up being a key factor in the war between Microsoft and Sony, with the PlayStation 4 version displaying a clear advantage over the Xbox One.The differences between the two versions will come as great concern to Microsoft. Just as it appears to be regaining traction from its fumbling Xbox One campaign, the revelation that at least one of next-gens major launch titles is noticeably weaker on its console will be enough to threaten to send the platform holder back to square one. Its difficult to tell how big a problem it may end up being until weve compared the complete multiplatform launch line-up it, but if the trend continues with further releases (as last weeks Call of Duty: Ghosts rumour suggests it may well do) even players heavily invested in the Xbox platform could be prompted to starting look elsewhere. It may just be teething problems, of course, and as developers grow accustomed to working with Xbox One, issues related to native resolution may soon become a thing of the past. But that goes both ways. With the PS4 off to a stronger start, the divide between the two consoles may remain a constant as developers look to push that GDDR5 RAM and impressive GPU in ways they simply cant on Microsofts console.
Now enjoy your crushed blacks
Someone suggested they may be using FXAA, which when I use FXAA on my gaming rig, it does give a bit of blurriness. It does clean the jaggies, but it does it by adding a little bit of blur.
Is that the PS2 version ???Thats Resistance 3 AA.
