So both consoles will have a suspend/standby mode?
Cool, wonder what the power consumption is like in these modes on both

Does anybody else have a feeling NeoGAF is going to get blamed if Xbox One gets crushed in sales over the first year?

Wait...people are saying this is a bad thing?
Doubt it. They can't claim we don't matter and then suddenly blame us when the sales aren't so good.
Quoting you again as it only took a page after you wrote this for the thread to stop being about the OP
You win a cookie
The benefit here is being able to launch into a game that you've put into suspend state... Something you haven't been able to really do ever before (unless you were willing to pause the console for hours on end)
Read the thread.
People are disappointed that can't get a snack while they wait for their console to boot up.
LOLWhat do you mean by "I leave NeoGAF for Albert" ? This is a discussion forum, not a PR platform where companies "leave it to certain people" to deliver a message; members are encouraged to discuss and share their opinions.
What I got out of this:
"Your Xbox One, when on standby (I.E. Not completely off) will probably be on (its already partially on) faster than your TV (which is completely off)."

I thought PS4 doesn't have it at launch? So both consoles will have a suspend/standby mode?

Not sure how useful that is though. I mean I get having my PC on to serve as media server, etc. for other devices in my house but if my XB1 boots up and the TV still hasn't I'm still basically waiting until the TV is there to get any use out of it - or am I being silly.
Suspend mode is nice though if it halts games in same vein in Vita but the fast boot without the TV being as fast doesn't actually get you anywhere faster.

I think the idea is that because they want you to watch your TV through the XB1, it will always be ready so you are not waiting on it
NeojeffI take issue with the NeoGIF thing
It should clearly be NeoJIF
* Slow Clap for Major *
He's absolutely right. I mean look at the first post
You guys cant say anything
or what's really getting old is GAF whining everytime Major Nelson or anyone else at MS is doing their job. Marketing a machine that's coming out in a matter of weeks.
Did people here actually read the news about standby mode? Or are you more focussed on a reply to a funny comment by MN?
Makes me wonder who the salty ones actually are!!
Until it RRODs from being on 24/7
Waiting for persecution complex to pop off (maybe it already did, didn't read the whole thread yet)

Did GAF get blamed for the Wii and Kinect's success?
Kinect recognises you the moment you walk into to room. It's watching your every move, like a silent observer.Nobody is asking the important question: How long does it take for the Kinect to recognize you and log you into Xbox Live?
The major difference will be a failure. Everyone looks to place blame elsewhere when something isn't working.
I predict it WILL happen--either MS or the media will blame GAF if XB1 falters.

Who has the bigger complex? The gaffers crying about big bad Major Nelson insulting them or the Xbox One fans?Waiting for persecution complex to pop off (maybe it already did, didn't read the whole thread yet)
No they won't. They'll blame MS's own stupidity (the reveal, the DRM, the clueless PR by Don and the rest of them following the reveal/DRM).

Your TV is also on standby (do you think it could be able to receive the signal from your remote if it was off ?). What you should get out of this is that the Xbox One gets out of standby as fast as a TV does, nothing more.
None, I think the overuse of the word here is silly that's all.
Major Nelson taking shots at gaf from the safety of the xbox one subreddit - classy...
Shouldn't he be expalaining what he meant by
"Hes also right: We have some of smartest programmers in the world working on Xbox One. I am very much looking forward to the next few months (and beyond) as the truth comes out."source
Thanks. I am excited for both systems.Good to see Major Nelson posting here.
Even thought I am completely in the Sony camp i still really like the guy. Not sure why a lot of other Sony guys think differently.

When In a low power state can I pre-order digital games and they will start downloading at midnight or whenever they become available on the store?
Hi Major Nelson. When you gonna use that GAF account that you openly complained about not getting approved?
