Oh, also noticed something a little disappointing for some reason i didn't pay attention to before

That's shinnn's video, laguna seca demo build

See anything ?
Ferrari interior completely gone in chase cam.

I wonder how many degrees of 'optimization' are there...

heh, funny thing, you and shinnn always seem to catch the things I miss :)
jbb9b98CszT0aA.jpg

the center console of the car seems a bit ..exfoliated of the aluminum vents :D
all in good use though, as this probably also verifies that stupid mag that says ring is dlc,
the bump to 24 cars. or is this part fake?

also, another thing to notice, is how much clearer shinnn's camera looks to these disgustingly compressed youtube videos we got.. over 2 minutes worth of 1080p video, weighting under 60mb.. bad enough to cause blimblim a heart attack :D

Why would i not be playing in cockpit view?

If you play with a game pad, I can understand the preference for cockpit view. But I find using it when playing with a wheel to be distracting and redundant. With a wheel, I much prefer using the hood cam.

thats not the point, I imagined they wouldn't have to cut so many corners on next Gen hardware, I thought they could at least keep the players car intact (considering Ai cars look exactly the same 40.000 poly models as fm4's). The initial "all ingame footage" trailer looks so far away now..

well DING DING DING motherfucker :D "next gen hardware" is less worth than a 150$ gpu :D [ or less than 180$ gpu in case of amirox's favorite ;) ]
so indeed t10 are master coders. the only bad thing they have and stinks, is microsoft.

well, i'm actually quite pleased with the announcement and subsequent news from what ever mag that was... the season pass is labeled "car DLC" and it sounds like the ring will not be availabe at launch but as dlc. great news as both clues hint towards TRACK DLC! finally. take my money. provide me more tracks.

now, i'll hold off on bitching about one of the best racing tracks ever likely being paid dlc after launch - at least until i see what improvements they made AND, more importantly, how much content the full game has.

I agree, and I hope this will happen wednesday. this "floating in the air rumor" shit is not helping.

yeah. if the game has the 11 tracks shown and late content is paid dlc, then we can bitch a bit. maybe. the reality is though, all the content in fm5 has been rebuilt in some way or another. maybe its just a remolded car, maybe its a redone track, or maybe its a full recreation of a laser scanned track. based on the content released in a typical t10 2 year cycle forza game, people seem to be expecting quite a bit out of this game and what it ships with.

its ok to bitch when prices go up, but if you are still willing to open your wallet its a fair price.

i'm ready for the fallout. i'm also ready to vote for my wallet and pay for some fucking tracks.

Track DLC is only good news if the game itself at launch has a good amount of tracks. If they held back tracks because they were not ready and also don't provide a robust amount of tracks Day 1, then they are milking us for more money by providing tracks that should of been in the game as DLC. Unless they are free and get incorporated into the SP game then I am fine with it.

it is what it is and everyone will need to make up their own mind on if its enough content for the price offered.

So Wednesday is the big day, embargo is up for the press event from last week. I guess we'll learn about some of the other features of forza 5. Hopefully some good news will come from it to help mitigate that $50 season pass.

Thank god I'm not the only one bummed by these things. I really dislike this kinda of inconsistencies.

I wonder if they will reveal that the Stig's digital cousin is actually Dan Greenawalt? ;-)

Actually, that could make a funny gif.

So do you guys think that the car packs will include lots of cars that were already in FM4? They did this with Horizon and it really soured me on their whole DLC approach.

yes.

But they are all autovista now !

So far though, no official statement autovista here really means what we assume it means; we'll probably only be able to check cockpit and interiors for most cars;
Stuff like peeking under the hood, examining the engine etc, i'm SURE you won't be able to do that with most cars.

So far every official announcement only mentioned walking around the car and checking the interiors, which were already there and great quality in FM4...

Forza 4 had the full ring about once in career mode, so it probably won't be all that different.

full wasnt in career even once i think. only the 4 stages.
but who needs the ring in career anyway?

you do it either for training or online competition.
btw, i want that laserscan confirmation.

It would have to be extremely positive.
People are a little sour right now..

I don't blame people for feeling shafted but can't understand how this is any different to previous games.

Doesn't help when the opportunists use this as an excuse to bash the game/console/MS whilst happily contributing to the problem when it suits them.

It just plays into the whole anti-MS feeling that this site (and other forums to be fair) are into at the moment.

I'll be so glad when the consoles are out and we can just get on with playing and enjoying all these new games.

Well heck, in that side by side Forza seems to have the better track and the better sound.

I don't see ANY spring travel on the same stretches on the PCars model either....

yes, but pcars is still faaaaaar away from launch, and also, dont forget that (at least for pc) they are not bounded by 1tf bullcrap.

still, imo forza, even with this compressed piece of shit youtube video, looks way better than pcars df

Anyone else want Sidewinder Proving Grounds back? Or is it just me?

Its not just you, I loved the challenge of those tracks, found it funny that a lot of people dislike them. Give me any long windy track, I'll take it.

I actually hate that we ever lose things as we go forwards.

Different climate at the moment. Things needed to be a little different this time around..

You mean people that also do not really want to buy the game in the first place.

Really? Forgive me, but that sounds like a gross over generalization.

I can't speak for others, but I've played Forza for over six years, and nowadays it makes up 80% of my gaming time. I've pre-ordered LE's, creation help me I've bought car and track DLC and produced plenty of UGC, but the news over the last 24hrs has finally pushed me from Day 1 purchase, to a position of wait for a few months and see the lay of the land.

It's not just concern trolls or casuals who are angry at this DLC debacle.

Think of all the money Forza has saved you by being awesome and taking away the need for other games.

Might have saved you hundreds, thousands even!.

But you moan about optional DLC.

I'm only waiting for T10 to shoot down the glimmer of hope that Evo gave us in regards to 24player online and current F1 cars. It's too good to be true in this whole wave of sourness that has swept over FM5 recently.
