New Gran Turismo 6 trailers [Complete blowout: All cars/tracks/features/etc]

Yes, however I was talking about Forza 3's car list in comparison to GT5.

I never played Forza 4 so I can't count it.

I enjoyed Forza 3 and I hear Forza 4 is even better, how they went from that to Forza 5 confirmed information is unsettling.

Well at least I have GT6 to hold me over until Turn10 possibly turns things around in Forza 6, or Gran Turismo 7 comes out and it doesn't matter.

Either way I still get a nice car game out of it.

forza 4 is much better than forza 3 in ALL aspects.
the most important (for me) being the improved physics (much better than f3, where they seemed to care mainly to get the cockpits out),
and also the total number of cars is quite higher, reaching over 650 cars (including dlc)
while keeping the same even distribution between continents.

if you are skipping forza 5, and still have your 360, I suggest you get f4 along with gt6.

That's quite a complicated roof design. For a car roof.

Do we know how many premiums there are yet?

According to the list, just over 400.

But there are no longer "Standard" or "Premium" cars according to Kaz. But cars with full cockpit and those with a "Simplified" cockpit.

It's very cryptic. Nobody knows if he means that the old standards now look premium on the outside, but just have no detailed cockpit view or not. But he did say that they look better now. How much better is not confirmed.

Oh yeah. even though I have the PS4 coming, I am keeping my PS3 hooked up and will bust out my Logitech GT Racing Wheel for this NO DOUBT.

What do people think about this "Body Repair" thing?

It looks like scuffs and light damage actually stay on your car after a race (See the front of this Range Rover) and you have to have them repaired.

One one hand, I think it's cool. But on the other, all my cars are going to look like they have been through a destruction derby lol.

Maybe it's only very light damage that builds up over time. Like the dirt in GT5 that you could wash off after racing a lot of times with one car.

I have always wanted that to happen. The car wash feature felt silly because the dirt never accumulated and remained on the car after the event. Or if it did, it took such a long time that it didn't matter anyway. The car lost some shine and not much else.

Maybe this will encourage drivers to be more careful about banging their vehicles about.

I doubt it'll cause people to be more careful if it costs 500 credits no matter the level of damage.

I honestly like Forza's system of taking credits away from your winnings based on how much damage your car sustained.

It did, but only after about 50 races with one car.

I found it out when I spammed a seasonal event for credits. And I noticed that my car was slowly getting permanent black marks/scuffs on it. They them came off with a wash.

Also, after re-reading that Kaz interview about standard cars, I think they will pretty much look the same as GT5. But as he said "The bad ones were made to look a bit better".

I love it. LOVE it.

I always thought amar's rants about that whole "you own the car in GT" were rather weak, but that's the stuff that takes it to a level where it's believable.

I can't wait for this game!

Not sure if it was mentioned yet, but we can finally upgrade the brakes in the game now. You can buy brake kits.

Having played the hell out of both GT5 and Forza 3.

While Gran Turismo 5 has 1074 cars. A lot of them are different year and livery variants.

In regards to car models that have different appearance, as in the in-game car models that do not look the same as another car and is physically different and isn't just a performance change or livery change, Forza has far more unique looking models in this regard.

If I were to eliminate the clones and variants and kept the car list to just unique looks (For example Nissan SKYLINE GT-R (R34) '99, Nissan SKYLINE GT-R (R34) '00, Nissan SKYLINE GT-R V・spec II (R34) '00, Nissan SKYLINE GT-R V・spec II N1 (R34) '00, and the Nissan SKYLINE GT-R V・spec II Nür (R34) '02 all look the same except for performance differences) Just keeping the R34 V-Spec II Nür and getting rid of the rest.

If one was to keep one unique model and remove the variants in GT5 the true car count would be closer to 600 cars and not 1074.

As for Forza 3. Removing it's variants it would lose about 20 to 30 cars. Ending up with 390 to 400, however it's an fairly even split between American, European, and Japanese models.

Even if we were to count GT5's 600 unique models. The list heavily favorites JDM. So the split looks like 55% Japanese, 30% European, 15% American.

So even with Forza having lesser overall cars, it still ends up with better car diversity. Even though Gran Turismo has more unique models overall.

It´s actually less. I remember doing this on GT4 and out of 720 you get 350 or so. This guy here: http://britgamer.co.uk/2013/11/06/how-many-cars-does-gran-turismo-6-really-have/ claims GT6 has 434 unique models out of the 1197, and there´s some good (others not so good) points made there, it´s worth the read.

They made some strides and there´s clearly less clones in the premium models, but it still is something that just makes the player confused and it has very little gameplay purposes. The idea of base models is a lot better and i´m happy to see it because i asked for it before. Should have done the same with the Nascar models.

GT5 was rough around the edges, but A LOT of groundwork was laid there for a great game...

I feel strongly about this. I see GT5 as some sort of a beta, and i think they will get it right in a number of things this time.

Reminds me of the way Need For Speed High Stakes (1999) used to do. It was nice because in some cars it was a lot of money, so you started to drive more carefully because of that.

Not sure if it was mentioned yet, but we can finally upgrade the brakes in the game now. You can buy brake kits.

And Nitrous! I know some people hate it, but i think since it exists on real life, it should be in the game.

Where did this information come that the Vette won? I thought a Chevy Nova won?

https://twitter.com/GTPlanetNews/status/398333601495805952

Of course he'll pick it. He owns a C6 or C7 or both, if I remember correctly. Having the Pantera in the game would've been awesome, but there goes the chance.

He doesn't own a Corvette as far as I am aware, I remember a lot of people thinking he did prior to GT5 as he was driving a C6 ZR1 around that was loaned to him by GM while in LA.

I think people are talking about the Chevy that won the user voting on Facebook for some weird reason.

And thanks for the info. It was mentioned many times that he owned a ZR1. Thanks for clearing that up.

Browser trouble, weird double post.

Since we´re at it, heavy damage for NRL sounds good, but no ABS like Amar suggested seems too harsh on pad users. It´s bad with the G25 pedal, imagine with a DS3.

I admit I haven't been keeping up on this game like I should but this looks AWESOME! I have been one of the few that has always loved the oil changes and car washes. This just adds another layer to the "car ownership" aspect.

Fucking fuck. The Vette won? Seriously? Idiots.

Jesus, seriously? I have been following that on Facebook and I can't believe it was even in the RUNNING, much less the winner.

Kaz said there wouldn't be black cockpits anymore, so they'll probably won't even exist anymore.

I was ok with black cockpits in GT5 btw.

Erm, you sure? Really looks like a warp to me lol
If it was a warp he would have taken the entire gird with him off the track lol.

I just noticed that the Nurb is said to have day/night + weather. Hope this means the GP version also. Didn't make much sense that the bigger version could have full day/night etc but the smaller GP version didn't.

Pretty much sums up Forza 5.

Looks great, plays great, sounds great... Yet it seems like there's so many things about it that... feels unbaked, sometimes even soulless in how they're approaching the vision of the game.

Just feels weird, coming out of a premium sim racer franchise.

Its just Turn 10 going through the same kind of thing PD had to with GT5. Making highly detailed cars etc takes time.

It just seems with the amount of detail & precision PD went to with GT's premium cars & tracks, that they really was future proofing for the PS4. I really wouldn't be surprised if GT7 showed up on PS4 sooner rather than later. Just minus the standards and some of the older built tracks cut.

It will get a little flak but not in the same league Turn 10 are getting from its fanbase now with Forza 5.

This should be added to the OT, at least in link form.

Oyashiro-sama, from GTPlanet put together a fantastic thread about everything that is new in GT6 and everything that has been taken out or is missing (from previous games).

### Cars ###
I wrote a program to remove the duplicates from the lists of cars from GT5 and GT6. I still got a lot of mismatches (around 200) that I had to go through manually (a lot of cars were slightly renamed, but we can easily assume it's the same car). As for the "Removed Cars (with similar alternative present)", I'm still almost sure that it was a naming issue and that it is safe to assume it's the same car, but I put them there anyway. Note: for those of you who are curious, I attached the mismatch file ("out.txt") so that you can judge by yourself if the cars are the same or not.

Again, some are difficult to confirm. About Standard/Premium Car, there won't be distinction between them, but Standard equivalent cars will have simplified cockpit views (and even if it's not mentioned, they may or may not have a rougher exterior look). At first look, all racing suits and helmets seem to be maintained. All paint categories where maintained but it's sill unsure if all those several thousands of paint chips will be there.
