just got an update for 360. what does it do? please tell me it fixes the spawns

Doubt it. If past games are any indication, it will take the whole year to have the spawns work at an accepatable rate. Even then, it will not be perfect.
 
Anyone else love the MAAWS killstreak? Holy shit, I just use it on people rather than anti-air. I always kill like 2-3 people with it. When you know where the enemy is coming from it's sick. I also really like that there seems to be no lock on for anti air. I haven't read anything about it, but is that actually the case? It seems like it's harder to get air support now so the balanced it by making all the AA have no lock on, so taking them out relies on skill to line up the shot, or in my case saving up for air superiority and calling it in and ruining their shit lol.

Well I was doing well for a few days. Now it is at the point were people are just camping non stop on every map. I also die about 5 times a match from getting spawn killed.
 
They should really add some other kind of functionality to Air Superiority other than "take out all air support". Its pretty much useless when there is hardly anybody throwing up air support killstreaks, especially now that there are no more UAVs to shoot down.
 
Played a bit of the ps3 version that I picked up from the FS deal. I guess I'm opposite guy because I loved it.

Traded it in for the ps4 upgrade this morning looking forward to picking up where I left off on Friday.

Just realized the screen splatters with different blood when you knife someone, that's a pretty cool little touch.

Oh wow... sliding does the same thing. Sliding in dirt puts dirt on your screen whereas sliding near water get's those blurry hexagons on your screen.

Seriously. I was playing Squads yesterday and some dude had Siege picked, with Cranked as his gametype. Worst match ever. I'd get a kill and not see anyone for almost a minute (and I died at 30 seconds!). Just bad bad bad.

Really? I played a few quick matches after doing that Canadian trade in deal and Seige is by far my favorite map.
 
I'm only interested in this game for infected. Sure, it's a dumb playlist, but I've sadly spent about 48 hours in game playing infected in MW3 this past year and a half. I really hope they change it up and add more infected variants. Does anyone know if they plan on tweaking any playlists, because that might signal that there could be infected changes.
 
I kind of like CoD, although I suck online...but I got a lot of fun out of BLOPS 2 at least. The thing with BLOPS 2 is that it appears to have a visible learning curve and you see yourself improving a lot when you know the maps.

Yet the map design in Ghosts is really a bit of a joke.I don't know how one should memorize these labyrinths but perhaps that's the point. I definitely got frustrated due to the sometimes unfair conditions and the vastness of the maps, coupled with cheap campers and spawns. And fuck those dogs.

i might as well sell Ghosts and try B4 instead, maybe its more my cup of tea. But Ghosts is really terrible online imo and not fun in the least, especially in relation to Blops 2

I'm new to the game, but are "air support kill streaks" the helicopters and such? Because in the games I play online, it feels like there are multiple each match.

Edit: I see some whining here. Maybe stop playing death match? I've only played domination and I see no camping or spawn kills. I've played about 5 hours so far.

Play Blitz if you want relatively stable spawns.

Spawns are stable in Dom if you're on a team of friends. If you're playing with randoms and they triple cap or push into the enemy spawn, you will get spawned on.

KC/TDM/Cranked are inherently run around like madmen modes, and that tends to cause people to spawn all over the map unless you're playing with a very stable team.

Also literally every single cod has people complaining the maps are the worst in the first few weeks. Every single cod.

(Except MW3 and BO2 maps were the worst :p)
 
I'm waiting til Black Friday in the hopes that it will be at least a little cheaper. You guy are really making me weary about getting it at all. I really enjoy Call of Duty and although they are pretty inconsistent as far as my enjoyment goes with them, once I adjust to the new style of play I can usually have a fun time. So...... should I pick up this game or not?

(play styles - shotguns for running and gunning, riot shield/throwing knife or riot shield/C4 combos, and LMG's for just about everything else [love my LMG's])

LMGs are awesome in this. Also probably the best thermal ever (you can flip it down to a holo), which is nasty on LMGs.

Shotgun running is harder, many of the maps are large. They're fine on the smaller maps, and you can use them on the bigger maps with the right build/mode/playstyle.

Riot shielding antics still work fine, but you can't do as much C4 hilarity because no explosives restocking (probably for the best really, I see a lot less grenade/explosives spam in general across the board)
 
This might be the most inconsistent game I have ever played. Ever. Core feels like hardcore 99% of the time because I get shot 1 time in the toe from across the map with an SMG and I die. Meanwhile I hit somebody in the face 3 times with a shotgun at point blank range and they survive. While other times I hit them once from 10 feet away and they die instantly. So dumb. And the unlock system is pure garbage.

I am such an ASSHOLE for using he Bulldog shotgun. Its so OP!

I think it's the absolute worst. I went several games where I was shooting no more than a few feet away and not even getting hitmarkers - like 3 shots and not a single one registered. Never had that problem with the other shotguns. Tac12 all the way

It's like the map designers really don't understand what makes COD fun.

I take it more as they don't know how the basics of map control and how the flow of battle works

Edit: spawn is also a problem but that will probably get fixed in time like BO2...can't fix maps unless your adding new ones.

Any map can be controlled with the right strategy and team. The spawns can ruin that.

True, but the map must have a balance to be controlled in the first place. With MW3/Ghost (and even BO2 in a way) there isn't any balance. It's 20 choke/intersection points and no real corridor setups. You can't hold down a chokepoint or an area because there is a good chance that there are 89 different entrances into that section or someone will revenge spawn around you. The series might be known for it's "run around like a headless chicken tactics" but the maps here basically encourage it and discourage really any strong strategy.

After a kill on PS3 I saw "Killed Squad Member" or something like that flashed when I killed a guy with a shield, might not be those words but it really make me go wtf, anyone else seen this? It was in Kill Confirmed online, not in squad mode.

One of the support streaks summons a bot with a riot shield. "Support Squadmate" I think. I've been messing around with it, but it isn't that great. Usually gets some kills though, and serves as a distraction.

I used to be a domination fiend back in COD4, but I've only tried it a few times on Ghosts and gotten my ass thoroughly kicked every time. It seems like every flag has about 129 possible sniper points, sightlines and alleyways that can be camped. I'll give it some more time because I'm really really getting sick of the goddamn ridiculous spawning bullshit in KC/TDM (where's the T in TDM when people get sprinkled all over the map?), but so far it just hasn't worked. Maybe I'll make a dom class with smokes and trophy systems and whatnot.
