Are you sure it's your mouse? Usually it's a logitech keyboard, I'm saying this because I had the low framerate because of the usb overpolling glitch and it was my keyboard not my mouse (which at the time was a razer mamba). Also experiment, in my case I didn't have to disable all of them just some of the hid devices were problematic. The only thing that didn't function properly was the lcd display on my keyboard.

Yeah, I do have a Logitech keyboard, but it doesn't appear to be a HID device. Plus, it's a PS/2 keyboard, not USB.The only one is the mouse.

I tried lowering the polling rate from 1GHz to 125MHz, might work.

Plus, should I bother installing Razer's driver? Been using the mouse without them for 2 year and no problems. I just plugged it in. Just a curiosity. :lol

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
you badge page must be nightmare, mine loads ages, I can only imagine how long you have to wait for yours.

I've no idea. I know Enhanced Steam tells you how many drops you have remaining but I don't think it mentions games.

Using "Binder View" on the badge page with Enhanced Steam makes it MUCH more manageable, IMHO. In a future update I'm planning on adding an option to display in Binder View by default.

That'd be great. Load times in default view are rather high due to each game having five images.

You're welcome. I'll have the last laugh when every Steam user over level 40 gets a free Steambox though
definitely happening
.

I talked to Gabe the other day and he said only those with all four versions of Max Payne and Max Payne 2 are getting Steam Machines.

F.E.A.R. needs to be experienced with slowmo, and the Shotgun needs to be kept in the inventory at all times.

The game is at its best as a slow motion orgy of blood, dust and pellets.

Precisely. It's the slowmo that allows the player to revel in the magnificence of its gunplay.

Which brings up another feature in the works - finding the approximate value of all of your remaining card drops.

Oh, God. Anything but that!

I've set you up for a Simpsons reference in the GAF recognition thread. Don't leave me hanging!

Pretty sure those who don't own Bad Rats will get free SMs :p

That has to be less than 300 active accounts at this point. :p

When GAF went down yesterday I thought "Ah gaf is down, let me check the Steam thread..."

Followed by "Ah, the Steam thread is down. Let me check GAF..." :p

Bought the bundle...

I am glad that you now have the game you were seeking.

I didn't play many games of that genre back then, but I DID play Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos. Since I was young and dumb, I never quite noticed how amazing it actually is. I bought it recently on GoG, but the DosBox version of it doesn't run nearly as well: There's hitching, screen corruption from time to time and audio hitching as well.

Interestingly enough, the game runs on ScummVM, but only partially. I'm waiting for that version to improve before playing it.

I'm saying all this because Legend of Grimrock is an amazing homage to those kinds of games (like RealityExists said), but it's nicely polished, the animations are amazing, and the main quest seems pretty good so far, with nice puzzles. I'm on level 6 and the only thing I don't like are the teleport puzzles, but I never liked those anywhere.

The best thing about it is that it has support for custom maps and Steam Workshop, which is a nice addition, since once you know all the puzzles from a stage, there's no replayability.

It's an amazing game and everybody should play it, even if just to learn about this "old" genre.

Thanks :). It's a genre itch I've always wished to scratch at some point so that's a good a place as any to start! :).

I really like the Binder View. *thumbs up*

I hope it doesn't crash, what am I supposed to do? Work?

Play a game?

It's kind of annoying that the humble bundle has FEAR nearly complete, but- not-quite.
So technically you would still need to purchase the 'complete pack' at some point to have the whole thing, unless I'm mistaken.
Not trying to bitch about a good deal or stealth begging, just saying.

btw, does the low-price scheme of the series mean it's basically dead at this point? FEAR 3 was kind of awful, so I won't miss that version of it, but the design of the first two is excellent in some ways, poor in others. One major strength is how they guide the player using light and NPC commentary in some places.
That really sets it apart from other FPS, where "guiding" is usually done with a huge dil-... flashing arrow. "go here" "follow this guy" and other things that shows my dislike for this structure. Meanwhile, Fear 2 in particular just uses light as a guide without saying anything. I think that is worth copying in other games, but so far everybody seems to go with the huge -

I've been looking for something similar to Micro Machines on Steam. Multiplayer and weapons would be a bonus. So far all I've found is Mini Motor Racing EVO and Super Laser Racer. Any recommendations?

Others might chime in, but Renegade Ops might be what you're looking for.

Should be this weeks humble bundle i reckon

I think it's been leaked that this week is the Jagged Alliance bundle.

You could also look into Mini Motor Racing Evo. It was partly inspired by Micro Machine games and has plenty of new stages being created by other players.

I'm trying to decide if I should continue playing Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning

I think I'm about midway through but the tedium is starting to get to me. I've played about 20 or so hours on it.

Does it get really good towards the end? Is it worth it?

It just stays the course all the way through,
Like people said earlier it's best to just plow through the campaign.

I used to love playing Jagged Alliance.. the characters were fun and I was coming off of an X-Com kick.

Looking forward to the new bundle.

I just want to mention that FEAR 1 is the shooter to end all shooters, (during the shootery bits that is), and it saddens me to the core that 2 lost virtually everything that made one great. Nothing will ever compare to the boomstick to end all boomsticks, in fact FEAR is the only game in which I specifically tried to aim less accurately just to get all of the dust&debris spraying in the air. The people that tell you to avoid using slow motion are wrong, utterly wrong in fact. Because the time dilation caused by triggering slow motion accentuates most effortlessly the ballet of doom that is steadily transpiring at your command. Please never give such bad advice again.
