LEGO |OT 3| Build Hard. Buy Fast. No Mercy.

So far this is my favorite LEGO Movie set. I love the little details, like the "ice cream" piece for smoke coming out.

EDIT: And the shark-arm.

Neat.
If i had money to spare, i'd probably buy that set (wouldn't otherwise spend money for legos, spare money goes to books and games). And that LOTR pirate ship. And have the mechs fight on the ship.

EDIT2: And the metal parrot

Shark Arm? (goes back to look at pic). Okay, that is awesome. Really, all the movie sets look ten shades of crazy in all the best ways.

Like the ones in the Pirates sets and in a few Lone Ranger sets?

I stand corrected than!

Now give me sharks with freaking laser beams.

That's not a shark with a friggin' laser beam. That's a shark with a missile launcher on its head.

Now someone put a velociraptor figure riding that shark with some dynamite and a machine gun.

Silver mine shootout in progress. Pretty good. Pretty good. Also staring at dragon mountain in that amazon page in the other tab.... hmmmm

Oh, it only gets better as it progresses. So many play features. I love the chaotic nature of the build. Almost no symmetry.

The Hobbit: Radagast

Chima: Rogon

Sigh. I'm disappointed they weren't able to make the horn removable. Wonder if this could be used for a Spider-Man Rhino villain.

Radagast is nice looking. I wish LEGO could have made the beard separate from the hat. Same with the Abraham Lincoln one. Those beards are sweet. Such a shame can't be reused with other hats or hair pieces.

Posting a larger picture of the Death Star Troopers battle pack:

This brings better detail on how the stud-shooter guns work.

LEGO should give them to the CITY police force, so they have more than handcuffs to fight crime with.

Is there a head under the elite red guard or is it one piece? I assume it's the same mould as the Imperial Shuttle ones.

Got a few more plates of the halloween display taken down, then got sidetracked when a bunch of ideas came flooding in for making my abominable snowman. Think I have the arms and hands all sorted out (well, for the pieces I have at least. Like one brick shy of a certain style for what I want to do on the arms).
And also think I cracked the mouth as well. Now to figure out eyes and the rest of the body. Getting excited about this one.

Wait are you talking about the Royal Guards? Imperial Shuttle didn't have any of those did it?

SMILE! Ignore the discolored teeth. I ran out of white. Just looks like he didn't brush.

"Hug?"

"Check out my slim waist and furry, yet muscular back!"

"You know, you should really take some pictures and post them of me before letting me loose in your holiday scene!"

Was trying to make an abominable snowman. I am happy with most of it, but really couldn't crack the eyes without having those eye tiles from upcoming sets. Right now it looks like Domo gone bad. At the same time, it works.
My first attempt at making a posable big figure. I know I will get better if I try and make an actual mech, but this will do for the holidays.

That is awesome Phon. Make him a popsicle to have along with the Yeti minifig.

Does anyone know when Lego Store reveals there BF stuff?

It looks like a bunch of new Ninjago & Hobbit sets are available at TRU Canada now. The stock was running low but there were a bunch of sets I hadn't seen in person before.

They also had the Architecture White House on the clearance table for $45 CDN ($60 MSRP) so I grabbed it. I've been considering it for a while now and the deal was too good to pass up.

Toys R Us has a bunch of unadvertised LEGO sets on sale. I picked up a couple sets. The best deal is Battle of Hoth for $30 since it's a TRU exclusive. These prices are available in store only so hurry and get to the store!

Battle of Hoth (75014) – $30
Colby City Showdown (79109) – $33
Constitution Train Chase (79111) – $65

Also got the 3rd Bricktober minifigure set for $20. I guess they didn't run out during their promotion last month.

You can see all the sets that are discounted here.

If things follow last year, we should see the new CITY sets at TRU Canada this week, and Star Wars in a week or two.

I picked up that Baxter robot

People are really digging this set. Toysrus is too far away and with tax and shipping would kill any discount. I'm holding out to see if I get a bonus on my next check before BF. If I do I have a Lego S@H basket full of every TMNT set plus the two Xmas sets right at $150 to get the 10% discount.

If no bonus I will probably just treat myself to the 39.99 Turtle Lair set at Amazon.

I saw new Hobbit sets at my TRU. They were MSRP so I guess they don't mark them up until later.

My bad. The Royal Guards came with the much older non-UCS Imperial Shuttle. I do not own the impressive UCS Imperial Shuttle, but I remembered seeing a photo of them with an Imperial Shuttle. I look forward to the battle pack to get a few of them. I doubt I'll get the Death Star set so the battle pack looks like the best way to get them.

Looks good. I hope it has the same level of writing as earlier Ninjago episodes. Let's see if kids swarm back to Ninjago or if kids moved on to the next craze. All the more sets for me (and resellers) for summer clearance if Ninjago craze has passed. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some of those giant blade parts and the dragon mech. I need a full set of the cool new ninja costumes too.

Very cool! The discolored teeth give it character. It's a nice little touch. The ball joints make it highly poseable which is part of the reason I like Lex Power mech so much. Movable digits are nice too. An opposable thumb is a sign of an advance creature.

After the holidays, make it a mech for the Abominable Snowman minifig.

That yeti mech is marvelous !

On a side note, finally.

Finally a Lego Store opened near me in France (well still a 2-hour+ drive but hey...).

It was the first saturday since the opening so it was so crowded you couldn't even see the boxes, so had a chat with the employees who were all nice people.

For some reason like a third of the children visiting had my name, found it amusing.

I'm now a proud VIP member !

The day's hunting results :
Wolksvagen Van
Mini-Modular Set
Architecture : Villa Savoye
Architecture : UN Headquarters
Coastguards : jet-ski
Christmas tree/reindeer
Advent calendar
3 custom minifigs for my coworkers
Creationary
Bought no star wars but still got the special trooper minifig, and a free pick a brick to use next time i'm going there.

My wallet is unhappy, and I bought only like half of what I wanted (those winter cottage/market were tempting..., modulars too).
I am 7 years old right now.

In all media, only true fans who consume every book, film, game, or pog collection deserve to know what's going on.
I had a dream that two, TWO LEGO stores were opening here in WV. One in Morgantown and one in Clarksburg. Sadly it was only a dream. It would be amazing if even one of these locations were able to get a store, but alas I doubt there is the population for that. I'll still need to drive 2.5 hours each way.

Nice haul! Villa Savoy is a pretty cool set to put together. Much smaller than I thought it would be once done though.
Mini Modulars is great though. I hope they put another out soon.
VW Camper is one of the best sets out there right now though. Just fantastic from beginning to end. The only downside to it is the incredible fear as you try and put the circular sticker on it at the end.

My two latest builds. Looking forward to build the third one, which I guess have even less pieces than the second unfortunately.

Both of those builds look so cool. Love the Creator houses. Now you need the tree house to put next to it.

I still need to go that house as well as Aviation Adventures. I know I have a lot of time on those though.

Yeah I basically want "all" the houses now. 5771 Hillside House looks cool but is on the expensive side since it's oop.
I am picking up Aviation Adventures but don't really have the space for it.

Creator houses are really nice looking. I have to skip a few (such as seaside house), but that's on my to get list. That's the same set but alternate build right?
By two latest, do you mean you have two sets or just joking that the 2nd photo is just another build of same set?

My two latest builds. I just took the photo of the first before building the second.

The Creator sets are not high on priority though.

Any word on Black Friday deals?

I got an invite for the VIP early shopping thingy a week early. I'm not sure I can make it though. :( This will be my first if I can go.

Been a bit slow thread lately. Seems like holidays are kicking in and everyone is busy.

In the meantime, some MOCs.

I love the use of the black hats for Xena's armor.

I originally wanted to stick with micro builds as they are so cool (below is an example) and you don't need a huge amount of bricks. Several thousand bricks and few hundred minifigs later, I'm mostly playing with minifigs and just building sets. :) I spend most of my time making photo comics with minifigs and small prop builds (besides the sets).

EDIT:

Found a couple micro builds I did. Apologies if I posted these before.

Finished up Cargo Train and Coast Guard Patrol over the weekend. Enjoyed the Cargo Train more than I thought. I like trains, but the whole thing was better than I had anticipated. Lots of track too. Now I just need a space for it....

Coast Guard Patrol was ok. It's a boat. But the three sharks make it so much better.

Picked up Warg attack from B&N since it was marked 40% off. Not the best deal but was the lowest I've seen in my area and most places don't carry it anymore.

I know it's not regarded as a great set but I've been wanting it for a while.
