Played more or less all day today. Actually just finished up a bit ago. Man, I love this game. It just feels, so right. As others have mentioned the music is pretty awesome.

Not sure it's an issue or not, but how much do your triggers rumble? Mine are pretty faint, when thy do rumble. I was totally expecting much more resistance / feedback. Time to invest in a wheel. lol

OK, thanks. Disappointing.

same Engine, same optimization tricks as fm4.
So variable lod on cars, variable refresh rate for reflections and mirrors etc.

T10 keeps refining the same game..it's a launch title, ok, but next time I'm expecting major core improvements.

The simulation handling with a controller is brutal but satisfying.
It really does require a wheel though.

Turn 10, for FM6, I want to see a dyno. I don't give a fuck what it takes, I want one. And, I want new tuning tools, upgrades and wide-body kits.

The Forza 5 I downloaded gave no indication it was a "Day One Edition". What's the go?

Neither did mine. I checked an hour ago actually for the cars that are meant to be in the day one pack and they're there. Luckily I have the tab still open...

Day One Car Pack – This three-car pack features amazing cars from Lamborghini, Audi, and Ford; each with a Day One-themed livery and custom tuning package created by the experts at Turn 10. The Day One Car Pack includes the following cars*:

2010 Audi TT RS Coupe – Stuffed stem to stern with modern tech, the TT RS is the first TT model to carry Audi’s famed RS badge – a distinction that’s earned on the track from the moment you step on the gas.
2013 Ford Focus ST -- Debuting with the same 247-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine from the much larger Ford Explorer SUV, the new Ford Focus ST packs a serious punch.
2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera – Like great sculpture, the Superleggera’s chiseled form is carefully considered for maximum impact. That’s where the similarities end, however, because this work of art is best appreciated when it’s moving at top speed.

Sal, what was this top-secret amazing stuff you were hinting at for ages? Did it turn out to be nothing? Did your contact stitch you up?

There were hints about homespace, the garage door, driving cars straight from homespace or something. What happened? Did everything you were told come to pass? Or not? What were you told mate?

Have any of you seen other race types in Freeplay?

Where one chooses the race type I can only see Circuit Race - but there's no way to select anything else. Or am I doing something wrong?

Btw, one layout for the test track is ridiculous.

I wonder what has T10 been actually doing for the past 2 years.

Yeah, the guy who worked on the physics and that other guy who worked on drivatars AI did great job, I wonder about everyone else :p

I'm in love with this game.
Playing this shit high is fucking mind blowing.

What's everyone's favourite car to drive so far?

I've only been playing for a few hours but the Ariel Atom is def my favourite so far. Really fun little car.

I got the LE version and redeemed the code. My gt shows VIP status but the package says you are also supposed to get like 1250 tokens or something. Its only showing I have 100 right now. Where am I supposed to get them? I can see the bonus cars though.

The tokens take a little while to arrive. Mine took under 24 hours.

Hmm okay thanks. It did take a day to get the VIP welcome message. So I'll Just wait then.

Oh, and this game is fucking incredible. Absolutely love it, haven't even touched any of the other launch titles I picked up yet.

The brakes lock so easily now. I'm using the stock A4 and even the slightest touch seems to lock the fronts.

yup. its like horizon. i turned off abs after an hour or two of trying to adjust

Not happening. We asked for FM4, we asked for FM5. If it doesn't appeal to the Top Gear audience, it's not happening.

Can someone with the game let us know how much, in tokens, is the most expensive car?

The Lotus E21 (F1) is 10,000 tokens.

Bugatti Veyron SS is 4,000 tokens.

McLaren P1 is 2,334 tokens.

So much for Turn 10's promise of LCE owners being given enough tokens to buy any car in the game. Those 1,250 won't get you but a few of the hypercars or any race cars.

The game isn't without faults but I find the racing fantastic.

Good god I am loving this game. Enjoying the racing so much

In F4 I felt I spent more time in menus doing shit because racing wasn't as fun as tuning, testing, painting and selling....this game makes me want to be on the track all the time

Not every game has to be loaded to the brim with content and FM5 is proof. The actual driving gameplay is second to none and what tracks are there are realized and polished to a tee. The atmosphere with the music and menus is so epic. Such high level of quality - just an amazing game.

Is it just me or is the AI in this game seriously good? I dont think ive seen better.

They dont cower like codemasters f1 ai, they dont just drive around track as if theyre the only ones there, they actually attack.

They fight, they scrap, they try to go three wide through corners.

Theyll cover the racing line and theyll squeeze the crap out of you when you go for an ambitious overtake, but still keep spatial awareness so they dont just crush you into a wall as long as youre not just trying a divebomb.

Even watching drivatars fight amongst themselves ahead of me is cool.

Thats a bizarre price. 8000 tokens is 100 euros so its around 120 euro for the f1 car.. i wonder if there are people who think thats worth it??
Im an big forza fan. Got every forza game as lce (except fm1 its normal version) and even bought the fm3 ultimate collection for thw lfa and lancia and other cars. But fm5 is the first game im skipping. Its looks like a prologue but they are charging full price. And the tokens system and day one dlc, seasonpass and expansion pass, plus the xbone price and a new wheel(my older wheels arnt supported) this game is getting ridiculously expensive.
To bad but im not a rich guy soo.

holy shit, had no idea Lotus' 2013 F1 car was in this. I play Codemaster's F12012 on ultra with everything maxed out and FM5's Abu Dhabi and Spa circuits look better. Half of me is pleased with Turn 10 the other half of me feels angry with Codemasters

well f1 2012 is designed for 2005 hardware :p

I am really loving this. The handling is sublime, so much depth to it. You can feel so much more life in the tires and suspension compared to Forza 4 and that was a bloody good game. I love how you can lose the car via gear changes or bumps in the road now, lift-off overstear is deadly.

I've been playing with all assists off, manual gears and simulation steering on the pad. It feels fabulous. I've used TCS occasionally on tuned front wheel drive cars because they struggle to steer and some of the racing cars that use (and need it) in the real world. Most of the career I've been against above average AI and usually scraping a gold.

I've tried a few races with some of the higher AI levels and interestingly they are cleaner racers so sometimes the races are easier, less likely to get barged or taken out by accident by a late breaker. So I may increase my regular level even if I have to make do with silver awards until I discover some talent.

Is there a list of these prices anywhere online? I honestly can't believe it.

Which cars do you mean? So it'd be cheaper to buy these cars with tokens in Forza 4 than Forza 5?

No what I mean is if you forget tokens and just play the game it is easier to buy the top end cars in Forza 5 than it is in Forza 4.

Forza 4 top end cars = 10 million credits
Forza 5 top end cars = 6 million credits

Just play the game, have fun, have patience, you'll earn the credits for the best cars.

Can anyone clear up this questions, please - thank you!

1. what is the average net-payout for the 1st place in the mid-tier races, with all possible in-game bonuses (no assists usage, pro AI, simulation setting, etc)?

2. which amount of money can be earned by self-sustained grind of Rivals? (as in FM4, where you deliberately do not push someone's Rival in order to maximise the profits with every next run with Rival above)?

3. How long EXACTLY can take to earn 1-million? One hour? Two hours?

4. Also, I would like to know what is the length of the average race?

The driving is incredible, without assists it's nothing more but addictive.
I started with automatic transmission, because I don't like shifting on the controller very much, and I had serious trouble with the drivatars even on 0%. I was so slow out of the corner and I didn't know why. Then I switched to manual transmission and it is a whole other world, now I race on +35% drivatar setting, it is so much fun.

I would like to know more.

Simple. At FM4 you could get 125.000 Cr for top-rivals times. If you can manage that time, you simply choose the lowest possible entry-time from the Global Leaderboards that have that prize attached to its result.

You drive against his time and you watch to cross the line as less as you can in front of him, bam - 125.000 credits. Now, you're in the 125.000 group.

From that point on, you're simply selecting Rival just above you and slowly climb up, to your personal driving maximum where you stop being competitive.

I earned all my FM4 money like that, millions without any hussle and simply having fun racing others' ghosts.
