Well with Yhwach killing off his own people, Kubo is making it seem like he just doesnt care anymore and wants this to be done even faster. Rukia and Renji arriving with little room in between also adds more proof to the swift end theory.
Oddly why would they even stop the assault as Ichigo is rushing there, it would be far more suspenseful to have him arrive just as a captain was about to be taken out.

Theory2: Madara is weak and retreat and we go into a 3-5 year arc of him rebuilding his forces for great Ninja War 5..

I wonder what a real body for Madara implies. I mean he says he can go Full Power now, presumably being held back by the Edo Tensei body originally, but that was a special body, yeah? Had Hashirama's face all up in it, let him use wood release. Now that he's used Rinne Tensei, what happened to that body? When Nagato used it, it basically returned souls to their bodies. What's it doing here? The soul's already in this fake body, but it seems to have.. generated a living body around the soul? Seems kinda inconsistent. Will he still have Hashirama's abilities? Shouldn't it have teleported his soul into his old-man body somewhere? Whatever!!!

Kabuto's line indicated that the First Hokage powers were something he had before he died anyways based on some kind of body modification.
For some reason I was driving to work and laughed at the concept of Obito pulling off Rinne Tensei and bringing back Minato, who then starts screaming in agony since he has a freshly ripped off arm.
wouldnt we be MangaGaf?? I think that madara will be the last villian and orchimaru will either escape and the series will close before they get him, or he will be forgiven.
He can't go Full Power because he already was at full power, Edo Tensei gives you immortality and unlimited chakra, now that he has a mortal body he's both vulnerable to death and have a limited amount of chakra (even if it's gigantic it's still limited).
Potentially this is where the goods have the biggest chance to put an end to this since they have the only ninja capable to seriously fight Madara but with infinite chakra and immortality plus a fuckton of stupidly powerful ninja even if not at the same level of the two and the collaboration of all the bijuus.
Now Madara have to fight all these with a mortal body trying to become the Juubi's jinchuuriki... he's essentially fucked but because of Plot no Jutsu he'll surely succeed.
Kishimoto is handling this very bad if you ask me.
To answer some of your questions:
Edo Tensei requires part of the original body to work so i think there's nothing wrong that Rinne Tensei goes where the "spirit" and the body are.
Yes he still has Hashirama's power because later in his life he put his cells on his body and because the body he's using now already has them.
Yes he should be a super old guy and it's pretty much an error that he's at his best (otherwise Sandaime should be young too)...

IIRC Orochimaru thought to himself he will follow Sasuke and see what road he chooses. Orochimaru also threaten the hokages to remove edo tensei from them if they did not listen to Sasuke. He did not have any reason to do that. Orochimaru had a change of heart and now he believes in Sasuke and follows him.
As long as it's not JPop or KPop...

Why would you believe that Orochimaru just abandoned his entire life goal so he could make moon eyes at Sasuke?
Would it really surprise you if he has ulterior motives beyond just wanting Sasuke's dick?

It would not surprise me if Orochimaru acts like his old self, but people change. It´s not something he said, it´s something he thought which makes me believe in his changed goals. If he had ulterior motives he would have thought them when he first was released, and probably acted upon them. Why would he not attack Sasuke when he was almost alone with him, and try to over take Sasuke´s body? Sasuke got a lot stronger recently, the more Orochimaru waits the less likely he would have a chance in hell of defeating Sasuke, and overtaking his body.

As ridiculous as Orochimaru coming back to be the final boss is I'd be happy, when he stopped being the main antagonist the series went to shit

Because Sasuke is stronger than him. But if Orochimaru took Madara's body while he was distracted with....something, he might be able to do it. I think it was even stated that Sasuke had put in special effort to fight off Orochimaru's body theft technique.
I don't think there's any reason Orochimaru is alive right now other than being an antagonist. I have to imagine redemption of his character would involve some kind of character arc showing it as opposed to like 2 pages of him saying he wants to be Sasuke's best buddy forever.
