For all of Nintendo's missteps this past, uh, decade, they still remain my favorite gaming company and Iwata is definitely one of my favorite dudes in the entire business. He radiates a sincerity that is incredibly hard to find these days. Happy birthday Mr. Iwata!

Well yesterday was Sully from Fire Emblem's birthday but I guess as far as nintendo birthdays go, this is kind of a big deal as well.

I do like Iwata. One hardware failure alongside multiple hardware successes should not mean instantly going to the chopping block, in my opinion. Doubtless his next move will be one well informed by the WiiU's problems. Congrats Iwata! Looking forward to seeing you at the next nintendo direct.

I'm honestly more interested in my waifu Sully though, if we are spittin' truthfacts.

who can say no to the temptations of crappy DLC,
who thinks subscriptions are not a good idea,
who can delay a bad game to make it good even under pressure,
who has actually made a worthwhile game,

who believes in promoting positive images of gaming for all ages and genders,
who thinks gaming can train your mind and your body.
who can host a video program better than Spike,
who can do a better interview than IGN,
who make an reasonable, intelligent and fact-based argument when your shareholders ask stupid questions,
who will do things even though nobody else is,

Add in that Nintendo under his leadership contributed BILLIONS in profit while other game companies were struggling to break even.

It is my wish as well.

The passions he awakens are just impressive, you never get this kind of response from anyone else in this industry, he has even received real threats, it is such an insane ride to just talk about him in GAF.

My only unwanted advice from someone who knows nothing about this industry next to him,
and you could say the same about anyone on GAF :p
, give a little bit more importance about the short term results of Nintendo, but the rest is absolutely phenomenal, keep pissing off the disgruntled fanboys!. Can't wait when the wiifit meter becomes a hit and GAF melts down.

One of my favourite GAF gifs ever, I'm just waiting to use it when the time is right.

Anyways, happy birthday Iwata, Pachter should attempt to call him and wish the same just for kicks haha.

He seems like a cool guy even though I worry about/disagree with a lot of his policies and decisions. I don't have blind hatred of him like Breda or Dave Melzer though!
