MGS: Ground Zeroes Xbox Exclusive Content Trailer

What mode? These are both just missions. MGS1 Snake has Kiefer Sutherland saying MGS1 lines and you troll around an HD PS1 Shadow Moses, while the Raiden mission has him... I dunno, running faster? Seeing blue and green outlines in people?

I don't know if you noticed but Raiden didn't seem to be restricted to doing what Snake does. The play style looks completely different, but maybe you watched the trailer with your eyes closed.

oh.... not even like.... a high detail model... utter joke.

Sigh. While I'm upset that I will need to spend $30 more to buy the XB1 version.

I didn't complain when Batman Arkham Asylum PS3 had Joker exclusive challenge maps. Or when MGS:R had VR missions.

Just rewatched the trailer.

Raiden runs faster, he jumps off a thing and lands far away because he ran faster. He climbed up a thing by himself, that's nice, Snake can find a ladder if he wants to climb things. Or who knows, maybe Snake can climb that thing too, and we just haven't seen it yet?

He shot people that were glowing blue, which was the only difference there.

He had a rocket launcher, I don't think Snake will have a problem wielding one of those.

Where is the different play style that makes this a brand new mode?

As someone who's getting it on PS3, I think people are getting way too worked up on this.

I can't remember the last time I found a platform/retailer/preorder exclusive DLC really meaningful. The closest might be Joker challenges in AA and even that was easy to live with.

I totally understand the hoarding mentality for games you're hyped about, where you want to feel you're getting every possible piece of content, but that really doesn't deserve to get all angry like that.

Yeah I guess a Ferrari Enzo and a Clio both have four wheels and can drive in any direction, so that makes them the same. You are being way too dense on purpose.

Guess I'll be double dipping...

The benefits of owning both a PS4 and X1. Can enjoy the exclusive MGS1 mission on PS4 one day, and enjoy this mission on X1 the next...
Is it really worth it to buy both versions for one extra mission? Helps reinforce this type of garbage in the first place.

Oh man I started laughing on the phone at work looking at this.

Or I just watched the trailer looking for anything new in play style, and saw nothing?

What, Raiden is gonna have to shoot some people and not some other people? What a concept!!

If they wanted to show some new game stuff, just show it! Raiden outrunning a collapsing bridge with his super speed or whatnot, like in Rising! If it's too soon to show anything drastically different, then it's probably not even a thing. These are just bonus missions, after all. They have the potential to show the biggest gameplay shift from the core game because they're bonuses, but then shouldn't KojiPro also highlight them? So far, all we've got is aesthetic differences.

So if you had a choice, would you pick a Ps1 snake skin or a HD model of Raiden that can run fast and jump distances and turn the gameplay into a more action packed mode?

Isn't it wrong calling it a mode when it is a single mission not related to the main game?

Why do I feel that the title CBOAT mentioned being developed by PG for MS is now MGRR 2?

This is a really cool exclusive. Seems like it would be really fun to play with Raiden in these missions.

It's not just Aesthetics, the game seems to play differently. Raiden can run faster and jump effortlessly through rooftops. Play GTA v with the super run and super jump cheats enabled and tell me it's the same game. PS is getting the shaft here, with an ugly ass low poly model, especially considering that MG's games always sell better on PS platforms. At least give us a proper snake model.. Also, it's cause of ppl who buy both versions that they try to push this bs on us. Begrudgingly or not, giving them money for this is just sending the wrong message.

Any idea how long this will actually be? Is it open world? Or is that just the phantom Pain (Or whatever the main game is called now)?

It's a budget priced prequel/demo whatever you want to call it. It's all set on this Guantanamo bay base map. TPP is set 9 years later and will cover multiple huge maps in different countries.

Hmm, not impossible. But didn't he imply it was ' for japan'? Did Rising do well there?

According to the stats, Rising sold about 308,681 in its first week on February. For Japan only? That changes things, unless they will make it worldwide later.

Raiden can run and jump faster, but how does that affect how you play the game itself? You've got easier access to a sniping point to take down guys? That's a nice thingie, but hardly a giant shift.

People are acting like Rising Raiden being playable is a whole new game in here, but it's just a different character in a subsection of Ground Zeroes. He can run faster and climb things, big whoop. He's still just gunning down his enemies and probably employing stealth unless you're bad at stealth in which case great because the gun action is presumably getting better.

I'd get the rage if Rising Raiden played like in Rising where he can do EVERYTHING that he did in that game, utterly break Ground Zeroes and slice up the environment, Zandatsu his enemies, wear a Mariachi outfit, but it's just a kinda tweaked guy that you play as here. This is like Batman's Armored Edition suit in Wii U Arkham City. The functionality affects the game on a surface level, that's how it looks to me. It's the same game, it's the same content.

As for my feelings on PlayStation's Deja Vu mission? Best practical joke wrapped in fanservice by Kojima. It's MGS1 in HD!

There is absolutely no evidence of said content being exclusive to Xbox.

They only say it's an "Xbox Exclusive Trailer"...

Remember how they pretended Rising was an Xbox exclusive at the MS press conference reveal too ? I do !

If it's indeed an exclusive mission, you have a right to be angry, but honestly, I have a gut feeling it's once again PR crap to sway people into getting the Xbox version.

The reach to end all reaches.

These exclusives are pretty dumb, not the content, just how they have to be exclusive. With any luck, they will both be made available on the other platforms after some time, perhaps as others said, when the inevitable complete collection is released (which many seem to be saying they won't buy until then anyways).

There has never been exclusive content that was worth a damn. Never. This game likely won't change that and it has far bigger issues to worry about like all of those dumbed down stealth mechanics they showed off a few months ago.

It might not even take that long. It wasn't too long before Yoda and Vader were available for purchase online on the other system's store.

It's BS to do exclusive missions for each version. There will probably be a "Ultimate" version with GZ, PP, and both exclusive missions released down the road anyways.

On top of that, the mission looks awful.

So true.

In fact, the MGS1 exclusive mission at least completely changes the assets to resemble MGS1 using the original PlayStation graphics - the Xbone mission just adds Raiden and changes the way the "tagging" effect looks to slightly resemble Snatchers.

In short - it seems that more effort was put into the Sony content than the MS content.

Like I said previously, it's cool that Kojima referenced Snatchers - but this is a one-off and I don't expect a Snatcher sequel or a Metal Gear Rising 2 "exclusive to Xbone" [if anything, that would be multi-platform] because of this content.

What's exclusive for PC gamers? ;_;

The Ground Zeroes base will resemble Beyond Coast and you will play as Jonathan Ingram Snake. Your mission is to track down a man in a Black motorcycle suit and shoot all the Marines he has defending him at the base. ;)

J/K however, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this ended up being for real. It's either that or Vampires take over the Cuba base and you have to Boktai them away.....or maybe a Z.O.E. Frame will crash-land at the base and you'll have to take A.D.A. out of it and take it in your chopper back to base for analysis. It will be inane and pointless whatever it ends up being.

Meh, I don't think either one looks amazing. Plus I have never been the hugest Raiden fan(have yet to play MGR though)

Love the Snatcher tie-in! (Makes me want a new one more than another damned MGS game, honestly.)

So glad to not be locked into just one ecosystem or brand like many of the Sony-only folks in here. Exclusives gonna be pissing people off all this gen, too, I guess.

OT but I noticed in every footage that Snake always holsters his weapon when he's not aiming, wth man :(

That is correct. I love it, actually, as rifle melee was pretty janky. It looks like you will be able to pick up a third unholsterable weapon, so the option might still be in there somehow. I think the daytime mission had him running around with a stolen rifle in his hands briefly, i'll have to check.

NEW Ground Zeroes commentary/gameplay footage -- footage shown on HARD difficulty!

No kill stealth run on hard.

- Snake is obviously in sight of that search light, there's no reason not to get an alert
- guards sleep forever [either that or no caution mode when they wake up]
- you can drive your jeep around like a boss no questions asked
- throwing people off of watchtowers doesn't kill them
- the car disappeared
- guards uncontious from cqc slam stay down forever

And to top it off the guy kills half the base anyway.

I'm probably not going to upgrade to either xbone or ps4 for another year or two, but this settles it barring terrible reviews. 360 it is.

There's a lot more Snake can do to interact with his environment this time around, it makes sense that he would try to keep his hands open unless he is using the weapon.

Can you confirm if there's a gun limit? I'm assuming it's similar to the peace walker battle uniform, except you can see each weapon he's carrying on him.

It didn't even come out on 360 in Japan, but I guess Microsoft really really wants Raiden on their platforms? And who knows, maybe it did sell better on 360 outside Japan than on PS3?
