MGS: Ground Zeroes Xbox Exclusive Content Trailer

nbnt

is responsible for the well-being of this island.
There's a lot more Snake can do to interact with his environment this time around, it makes sense that he would try to keep his hands open unless he is using the weapon.
FFFFFFFF :(
I love the way Snake holds his weapons, makes him look bad ass. I'm a sad man now.

Can you confirm if there's a gun limit? I'm assuming it's similar to the peace walker battle uniform, except you can see each weapon he's carrying on him.

Unfortunately I can't. Development of the game is still ongoing and I can't reveal any gameplay features that haven't already been observed in release materials, sorry.

The mission premise is cool and everything, but it's almost inconsequential that it's Cyborg Raiden. You're still shooting shit with seemingly identical gameplay. The butthurt is a bit unnecessary.

I'm gonna guess both the exclusive missions are all of ten minutes long, also.

Hopefully we won't the see the same exclusive stuff on the phantom pain's release. I won't hold my breath though.

Can you say anything regarding the fate of The Phantom Pain releasing in 2014 if Ground Zeroes sells like hotcakes?

Is that still true?

I was gonna buy this shit used so konami doesn't get any of my money, then I realized that its digital only for next gen. I'll just wait until its eventually bundled with Phantom Pain then buy that shit used.

I did not want to get this on Xbox. (sigh)

Then don't.

It's only a short non-story mission. the story content of MGSV will be identical on both platforms [with the possibility of the PS4 version having a slight edge technically if KP decides to utilize the hardware to it's full potential].

I have both systems and I am getting it for the PS4 only.

Xbox is really pushing the exclusive mission news. They gave the trailer the big box on the main 360 Dashboard.

Heh that's ok, I had a feeling you'd say that. Watching the daytime mission again I see he basically drops the guard's gun at the point he stops aiming it, so it looks as simple as that, with the option to press circle to add it to your inventory once you've stopped aiming.

and with that Sony just got f'ing owned. Deep pockets indeed.

How did Sony get "owned"?

Sony gets an homage to MGS1 using assets from the PSONE graphics engine in HD with a nostalgic mission set on the GZ base dressed up as Shadow Moses.

Microsoft gets a shooting gallery with Raiden, Snatchers and a watermelon.

I fail to see how either exclusive mission owns the other - they are both equally useless.

The Snatcher reference is cool - but we've had references to that game before in past Metal Gear games.

Looks like I'll wait for MGS5 "Definitive Edition" that'll include both titles.

Looks like you might be waiting a while. Kojima said that Phantom Pain is about 300x the size of Ground Zeroes. With a game that big, I wouldn't be surprised if Phantom Pain comes out a year after GZ this Spring. Maybe Kojima's goal was to put GZ in our hands to hold us off until Phantom Pain comes out in 2015?

When there's exclusive content, truly, we have all lost.

I haven't lost shit. Stuff like this is awesome or multi console owners. Makes the choice easy. Having said that, I'd feel weird having a Metal Gear game on a non Sony console. My GBA copy of Metal Gear just sits there, staring at me. I don't know what to do with it.

That's a better save than most...

It's strange to have a Metal Gear title surrounded with things like this going on; exclusive content per console, dodgy answers regarding it's development and release schedule, holding fans hostage with statements about GZ sales potential equating to TPP's release time-frame, etc.

No kill stealth run on hard.

- Snake is obviously in sight of that search light, there's no reason not to get an alert
- guards sleep forever [either that or no caution mode when they wake up]
- you can drive your jeep around like a boss no questions asked
- throwing people off of watchtowers doesn't kill them
- the car disappeared
- guards uncontious from cqc slam stay down forever

And to top it off the guy kills half the base anyway.

I think you're mistaken. It's being played on Normal Mode. If you saw the beginning bit, it showed a tease of what Hard would be like when Snake gets killed in a few shots. The title of the video is a bit misleading I think.

There has never been exclusive content that was worth a damn. Never. This game likely won't change that and it has far bigger issues to worry about like all of those dumbed down stealth mechanics they showed off a few months ago.

Those can be turned off. Unless you mean something else.

no early or exclusive dlc will push me to play this on a different system.

If like everything (mostly) else this runs best on PS4, then great. I care more about 95% of game playing amazing and at its best than 5% being behind some pay window.

I was about to say this.

100% agree, the title is very misleading.

Konami being dicks. Or least that's what I assume is going on behind the scenes.

What's with all this mess, couldn't they've just made it the same for everyone? And release the entire game in a single package whenever it's done instead of selling an overpriced chunk in advance? I so much hate the way "AAA gaming" is handled by most publishers these days.

Regarding the March release date, can you please clarify whether the March 18th release date applies to all platforms or just Microsoft?

Think of it like a slightly more evolved version of kickstarter. Instead of just giving money to a concept and/or trailer, here you get a demo which just so happens to have exclusive DLC on both platforms.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Wow, didn't expect them to get something more interesting than poly snake.

But all exclusive content is blaaaaah. Congrats each fanbase, you both get dicked over!

I get the feeling both will come to the other platform a few months down the line for $5. It's dumb enough to give one platform exclusive content, it's another thing to give both platforms different content. I'm just glad neither of them are additional story content because that'd be some serious bullshit.

Im more into Xbox since the 360 hit but MGS4 was the sole reason I even bought a PS3 - and now switch to this gen and Xbox has the better Metal Gear content. Go figure.

It was my fault for not clarifying, but MOST of the footage is being played on Normal difficulty. There's a segment in the beginning where he shows off some hard gameplay, and it does look hard. The guard the player was spotted by was quite a ways away, and in previous Metal Gear games, the guard probably wouldn't have noticed the player. The AI doesn't look half-bad, I must say. Most of the footage was being shown off at Normal difficulty, though, again and I'm sorry for not clarifying!

Edit: Also, the car didn't disappear. The enemy took it back!

It's not like Konami has anything else in the AAA blockbuster category for us to salivate over. Metal Gear is pretty much all they have nowadays and it's sad, but I'm losing interest in the series by leaps and bounds lately.

It's transformed from an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride set in a spy/military universe filled with intrigue, excitement, interesting characters and plot twists galore - into a lazy, retconned, sloppy tale of nonsense and I feel like each new iteration is spoon-feeding me inane drivel and I'm supposed to say "Thank you Kojima-san - and may I have some more?"

I really, sincerely hope that MGSV is the last one - I mean really, what else can occur within the narrative that won't drag the series all the way to the bottom of the sea of mediocrity?

This was a once great series that has since become a bloated, silly mess of retconned history and thrown-together "new" developments that mean nothing to the canon games that paradoxically follow in the series timeline. Big Boss now has a new cybernetic arm? Big Boss now has debris embedded in his head.....?

When you think about it - all this isn't exciting; it's jaw-droppingly-lame.

.....and I say this as a huge Metal Gear fan.
