1, Ar Nosurge : I am so hyped for this. This gen has had a LOT of "nope yer favourite series is dead, you'll never see it again" so I was really happy to see Ar tonelico get a spiritual successor like this, even happier to see one of the main characters is a robot, this is gonna be awesome.

2. Atelier Escha & Logy : and this one, while continuing the Atelier series, also seems to be drawing a lot from Mana Khemia, one of my favourite games.

3. Persona 5 : I'd be more hyped for this if I knew more about it, hoping so hard it'll be great like 4 but the possibility of it being like 3 keeps hype tempered.

4. Tales of Xillia 2

5. Gundam Extreme Vs Full Boost

6. Natural Doctrine

7. The Evil Within : The resident evil I've been waiting over a decade for

8. Trails in the Sky SC : This would be near the top of the list if they hadnt already killed all hope of a future for the series, as it is I'll take what I can get and enjoy it but I'll feel bad for what could have been.

9. No Mans Sky : Dont know much about this yet, it has huge potential and I'm excited to see how it goes, it could be a game I've dreamed about for ages or it might be rubbish but I'm excited for the possibility

10. Drakengard 3

1. Dark Souls II : Because Dark Souls is my current game of the previous generation.
2. Persona 5 : Because P4 is one of the best JRPGs of all time.
3. The Witcher 3 : Because it looks freaking awesome, and it's the sequel to the greatness that's The Witcher 2.
4. Monolith's X : Because it's Xenoblade's spiritual successor. And hallelujah for characters with non-ugly faces this time around.
5. Rime : Because who needs Team Ico, right?
6. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes : It's muthafuckin' METAL GEAR! What's there to hayte?
7. The Evil Within : The real Resident Evil 5, hopefully.
8. Below : Great artstyle/atmosphere amplified by the ambient soundtrack. Gameplay seems to be good as well.
9. The Witness : Because Braid was the shit.
10. Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 : The first one was great, but not without its flaws. Hopefully MS worked out the kinks for the sequel.

Honorable Mentions:

Drakengard 3 : Previous entries in the series weren't that good, yet the prospect of this being the closest thing to a Nier 2 has me vexed. The latest trailer made the game seem like a lot of fun, so here's hoping for the best.
Transistor.
Wasteland 2.

1. Destiny: Bungie did a phenomenal job with Halo and this is another multiplayer first person shooter by that developer, so I am interested.
2. Metal Gear Solid V: Kojima-san pioneered the stealth genre of video games and the same franchise is its standard for excellence. Being cross-gen and multiplatform is likely a financial decision and I anticipate it to be a worthwhile experience on any platform it gets released for.
3. Tom Clancy's The Division: Video game experiences online continue to feature fresh ideas, so I welcome the latest game by Ubisoft Massive. Also, Far Cry 3 is a good game which gives me confidence in that developer.
4. Dark Souls II: I did not play Dark Souls and its sequel is coming out next year. That gives me an opportunity to join the "Souls" community day-one of a game of that franchise. Demon Souls is one of my favorite seventh-gen games and Dark Souls is supposedly similar. The popularity of that franchise is assuring me I will be playing something good.
5. Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remastered Versions: I beat Final Fantasy X on the Playstation 2, but I would like to get the remastered version in 2014 to complete the monster breeder side quest. I might play X-2, but I usually do not buy video games in which the main character is female because I do not experience as much immersion since I am a male.
6. Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix: This item interests me because I would like it for my collection and because of that collection, I originally only got Kingdom Hearts 2.
7. Transistor: The same developer which made Bastion is making Transistor, so it is one of my top ten anticipated games.

1. MonolithSoft's "X": Looks like a return to classic, big-budget J-RPGs.
2. The Witcher 3: A next-gen, open world, fantasy RPG. Sounds like pure crack.
3. inFamous: Second Son: The first reason to own a PS4 to me.
4. Lily Bergamo: A beautiful teaser and hints at a game that sounds like a ton of fun.

Lessie here:

  1. Dark Souls 2
  2. Banner Saga single player game
  3. Bayonetta 2
  4. Last Guardian(OH PLEASE OH PLEASE)
  5. Hyper Light Drifter.
  6. Escape Goat 2

Yeah, that's about it really. PSO2 is eating all my game time. Something from Vanillaware if they announce it.

1. Destiny : Bungie MMOFPS? Yes, please.
2. The Division : Looks crazy good, hope it lives up to the hype.
3. Watch Dogs
4. Star Citizen
5. Infamous Second Son
6. The Witness
7. Thief
8. Deep Down
9. Game of Thrones (Telltale) : Love GoT, love Telltale.
10. Mad Max

1. Super Smash Brothers for Wii U/3DS : So the original Smash Bros and Melee were my childhood, I thought while playing them that there was no way gaming could get any better than this, and while Melee still to this day remains one of my favorite games of all time, I can not even begin to fathom how much time I am going to sink into this, I mean PORTABLE SMASH BROS!? I remember I was disappointed when they announced Brawl wasn't going to be on the Nintendo DS, but that doesn't matter now. I am willing to go out on a limb and saying this will be my GOTY next year, I am that hyped.

2. Destiny (PS4) : Ahh Bungie, how you managed to make me lose so many hours of sleep playing Halo 3 and Halo Reach multiplayer. This game looks like it has elements drawing from all genres, but one can definitely see the similarities you get with this between franchises such as Mass Effect, Borderlands, and Halo. I already have a full group ready to go when the beta drops this summer, and this will truly be one of the defining games of this generation.

3. Mario Kart 8 (Wii U) : Mario Kart is nothing short of pure magic. I absolutely adore Mario Kart, granted I haven't put as much time in Mario Kart 7 as I've wanted to (~30 hours) it is still a ton of fun. Also, as a streamer, Mario Kart Wii is personally my favorite game to stream because not only can you get your audience involved, but it is also just a ton of mindless fun (unless you fall off Rainbow Road 6 times because you were dared to use the Wii Wheel), nonetheless HD Mario Kart sounds like my jam, and hovercarts.

4. The Witcher 3 (PS4) : Let me tell you something GAF, I have honestly never played Witcher 1 or 2, but this game makes me regret that, especially with Witcher 2. However, this game looks absolutely stunning, it baffles me how good early this generation looks, and an open world RPG is exactly what I want right now.

5. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD (Vita) : Final Fantasy X is probably my second favorite Final Fantasy, right behind FFVII, but this game is just so good. I can't wait to fully immerse myself again, and the OST seems to sound even better. Honestly, haven't played X-2 ever, but excited to try it as well!

6. Bravely Default (3DS) : A month ago, I had absolutely no hype for the game, but now I am ready to go. This looks like something I need to play and will also push me to finally beat Fire Emblem Awakening.

7. Watch_Dogs (PS4) : Was a tad disappointed this wasn't Launch Day for next gen, but after being surprised by the magic that was Assassin's Creed IV, I am ready to be blown away by this game. Bring it on Chicago!

8. Hyrule Warriors (Wii U) : God, this game came out of completely no where when I read it after classes, but wow. If this was confirmed to even have local co-op it'd probably be Top 5, but this game looks good and I hope it leads to more crossovers.

9. The Crew (PS4) : I was sold on the concept as soon as it was announced. The entire United States is your course, swallow that pill and board the hype train.

10. Hotline Miami 2 (Vita/PC) : I like double dipping for developers I like, thus I will purchase this on both platforms, but who doesn't want more Hotline Miami? Dat soundtrack <3.

So yea, those are my Top 10 Most Anticipated Games for next year, I'd love to put some stuff on here like Monolith Soft's X, Next Gen GTA V, possible Animal Crossing Wii U ANNOUNCEMENT, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Hearthstone, Diablo III Expansion and J-Stars Victory VS, but due to various reasons they can not, but I guess you could call these my "honorable mentions" list, so there is that. Too excited to dive into the next year of games, cheers GAF!

1. X ; Xenoblade has become one of my ALL TIME favorite games, so yeah saying that I'm looking forward to this is kind of an understatement. Gorgeous, rideable mechs, Fucking transforming rideable mechs, open world, JRPG, DINOSAURS, possible online features. Yeah monolith soft, I'm all in for this one.
2. Bayonetta 2
3.The Witcher 3
4. Smash Bros Wii U
5. Dark Souls 2
6. Uncharted PS4; Not quite sure we'll be seeing this next year though
7. Infamous: Second Son
8. Bravely Default; Reminds me of PS1 Jrpgs and I mean this in the absolute best possible way.
9. The Order 1886
10. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze: because Fucking Cranky Kong and fucking David Wise.

Narrowing this list down was extremely difficult. Seriously,10 is simply not enough, 2014 is looking like an amazing year so far.

My list is sure to change a lot. I haven't looked into 2014 too much yet, and I don't follow preview coverage very much anymore because I don't like spoilers and I don't like waiting years to finally play a games.

10. Call of Duty: Ok, so this is kind of a shitty pick. I used to be pretty fantatical about CoD, now it's just something I enjoy for a few months out of the year. Although Black Ops 2 had some network issues, the game made a lot of really good changes. Ghosts, on the other hand, has been a major disappointment to me so far. I dislike the maps. A lot of them don't have any sort of cohesive flow, from what I can tell so far, and it just feels like a cluster fuck. The perk system is cool but ultimately I think Pick 10 was a better system. And as someone who disliked MW3 and only played a few hours, I find the killstreak threeway setup weird and alienating. Scorestreaks in Blacks Ops 2 was much better, and I think it did more to reward and encourage objective play.

So with Infinity Ward putting out two duds in a row (imo), they're pretty much dead to me. With new consoles out, I really don't want to go back and play Black Ops 2 on my 360. That means I have no CoD this year. So with this long buildup to Treyarch's next CoD, and the fact that they've been my preferred dev since WaW, CoD has earned a spot on this list.

9. Infamous - Second Son: I've never played an Infamous game. I wasn't big into PS3 last gen. I did watch my kids play Infamous 2 for a few minutes, but they didn't really seem to get into it (they also didn't do missions, and they aren't really ready for open world games). Infamous SS looks cool, and it looks fun. What else can I say?

8. Watch Dogs: I've been hyped for Watch Dogs since I first saw it. It looks interesting and cool. It's a game that would have done me well to have at launch, because it probably would have been my star.

Destiny: I thought Destiny looked interesting when I first saw it, but I don't have a connection with very many online people anymore and so I decided it's probably not really for me. Then, for Christmas my kids got me Borderlands 2, so I could play online with them (they use my PS+ on their PS3, so they got the game for free a few weeks ago). If enough kid-friendly stuff comes out on PS4 this year, I'll get them a PS4 for Christmas next year and two copies of Destiny, and we'll have a ball.

7. X: Loved Xenoblade and am very excited to see where X goes. Also, Wii U games get a bump because I'd like to play the thing more if possible.

6. Transistor: I don't know much about it, but it looks amazing. Indy games are becoming more and more enticing to me as they provide an alternative to the loud action movies that triple-A devs put out.

5. Final Fantasy X-2 Vita: I beat FFX back in the day, but I didn't really care for it very much. X-2 was a game I never got very far in, because of that dislike for X and also because it was sorta embarassing to watch Yuna and co. sing like popstar idiots. However, I remember the combat system being really cool, and that's what I care about most. Also I'm a sucker for handheld RPGs.

4. Titanfall: This would probably be even higher if it were coming to PS4. As it stands, I'll pick it up on PC and hopefully be able to get into it. I'm not a huge PC FPS player, but I bought CoD for $5 recently and have played the hell out of that game.

3. The Witness: Who didn't love Braid? Jonathan Blow hurts my hype for this game, but I still can't help but get super hyped every time I look at it or hear about it on a podcast. I'm sure this game will be fantastic.

2. Bravely Default: I doubt the 3DS can match 2013 in 2014, but Bravely Default looks to be a good start. I've been on a bit of a jRPG kick lately, and hopefully I can finish Mother 3 before Bravely Default comes out.

1. Dark Souls 2: What a great thing to have these games in this era of hand-holding and over-simplification. Dark Souls 1 was such a massive game that went on far longer than I ever expected it to, and I can't wait for Dark Souls 2 to show me what else FROM can pull out of their hats.

1. Persona 5 - Played Persona 3 and 4 back-to-back last year for the first time and it was an incredible experience. Loved Catherine, and I can't fucking wait for Persona 5 man, can't fucking wait!

2. The Witness - It's been one of my most highly anticipated ever since I saw the first trailer in the PS4 unveiling. I just get all tingly and excited just thinking about exploring that beautiful world and finally finding out how those puzzles work.

3. Dark Souls 2 - Dark Souls is my contender for game of the generation, so hell yea I'm excited for Dark Souls 2! I would give almost anything to wipe my memory clean and play Dark Souls all over again, but getting a new Dark Souls will have to do. Maybe it'll be even better.

4. The Order 1886 - Extremely talented studio that I feel I can trust to deliver on gameplay as well as the bombastic visuals that they've been flaunting. Every interview I've seen shows that they've put a ton of thought into the creative process, and assure me that they know what they're doing. Hopefully.

5. No Man's Sky - Absolutely phenomenal trailer and made VGX worth slogging through. Art style is glorious and it promises amazing things. I'll have to hear more about it before it rises on my hype list though.

6. Broken Age - Honestly super impressed at what they showed. By far the prettiest 2d adventure game I can remember. I love that Double Fine's heart and passion is evident in their games, and I think this is a sure-winner.

7. Persona 4 The Ultimax something Suplex Hold - A fantastic fighting game, about to be expanded and made even better. I'll take it!

8. Transistor - The few gameplay videos I've seen of it look real fun, and a talking sword in a futuristic cyber dystopia is fucking awesome.

9. Drive Club - Every video they release looks better and better. It's astounding. A shame that it wasn't ready by launch, but if they nail the driving feel, this could be my go-to driving game.

10. Rime - Like The Witness, I'm captivated by the way the game looks. The trailer is evocative of ICO, encouraging exploration, and looks like there's some mystery and darkness as well. Need to know more before I get more excited about it, but it sure looks promising.

Honorable mention:

Titanfall - It's almost more that I'm anticipating playing this with my friends, more than the game itself, lol. I can't say that I've been totally loving what I've seen, but with so many people with hands-on impressions saying that it's a blast to play, it does catch my interest.

5)Persona 5
6)Smash Bros. for Wii U
7)Binding of Isaac:Rebirth
8)Bayonetta 2
9)Mario Kart 8
10)Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

1. Bayonetta 2: Bayonetta was so, so good.
2. Super Smash Bros. Wii U: I spent hundreds, possibly thousands of hours playing Brawl. I don't have that kind of free time anymore, sadly. Still, pretty excited for this!
3. Earth Defense Force 2025: Looking forward to another thrilling underground expedition.
4. The Evil Within: Resident Evil Remake was amazing, RE4, not so much. God Hand was amazing, Vanquish not so much. If this trend continues...AAYYYYYYY.
5. Phoenix Wright vs. Professor Layton: penis
6. The Magical Realms of Tír na nÓg: Escape from Necron 7 - Revenge of Cuchulainn: The Official Game of the Movie - Chapter 2 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa: The first one was good!
7. Cosmic Star Heroine: I've only played Breath of Death VII from Zeboyd, but this game looks rad.
8. Danganronpa: I don't have a Vita yet, but once I do! Oh man! Watch out!
9. Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy: Only just started Layton 4, so I'll get this, but probably not anytime soon.
10. Drakengard 3: I don't have a PS3 yet, but once I do! Oh man! Watch out!

I won't list X because I don't trust NoA to not be horribly incompetent.

1. inFamous: Second Son: My favorite IP from last gen and Sucker Punch always manages to top their previous output (except for Sly 3, but that was still a fun game).
2. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U: It's Smash. With Megaman.
3. Rime: idk it just had an instant charm and appeal.
4. South Park: The Stick of Truth: Literally a few days before it was announced I was thinking how cool an Earthbound-esque RPG with the South Park IP would be. And IIRC they've mentioned Earthbound and the Mario RPGs as inspirations. That's all I needed to hear.

1. Persona 5 : Played my first Persona game this year. This year, I've played P3FES, P4 Golden, SMTIV, and started P2: Innocent Sin and P3 Portable. Needless to say, I'm a fan. I stayed up until 6 AM for that crazy reveal event, and somehow managed to keep my composure when the announcement of P5 seemed to be in doubt :p

2. Infamous: Second Son : Looks so damn good, this is basically "THE" nextgen game for me. Hoping to score the PS4/Second Son bundle with my tax return next year

3. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes : The only reason it isn't number 1 is because... well it's still confusing. I don't believe, like some do, that it's just a demo, but I'm still wary of how much content there will be.

4. Persona 4 Arena 2 : Ultimax Suplex Hold? Does anything else need to be said?

5. Smash Bros. WiiU : I don't own a WiiU, and there's a good chance I won't next year when this is out, but being able to play the game isn't required to anticipate it

6. MLB 14 The Show : I have a feeling this is gonna be SO DAMN GOOD on PS4. I've always loved The Show but the games were a bit stagnant the last 2 years. I think the new hardware is just what they needed, it's gonna blow minds

7. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth : I love the chibi designs, and YEAH P3 MAIN CHARACTER!

8. The Walking Dead: Season 2 : This counts right? Only one episode out right at the very end of 2012. I'm probably gonna wait until the episodes are all out, or at least 3 or 4 are out. The long wait between episodes can be killer. I'm surprised the game is so low, since TWD was my GOTY 2012. Lots of exciting stuff next year!

9. South Park: The Stick of Truth : Like the show, enjoy their humor, the gameplay the showed a couple weeks ago looks great

10. The Order 1886 : I've never played a RAD game, but the alternate history stuff seems really interesting. I'm just glad it's not a FPS, TPS for life!

x. Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc : I know very little about this, but I've heard it described as Phoenix Wright x Persona. Sign me up

x. Bravely Default : Again, don't know much about it, but I like RPGs and everyone seems excited about it coming over

x. Destiny : I don't usually like FPSs, but this at least has me intrigued

x. Watch_Dogs : Like a ton of people, this was one of my most anticipated games when it was announced... but it seemed like every time they showed it, it was the same stuff over and over and it got old. The idea of hacking everything is cool, but less so if you're just pointing and clicking at stuff while magic happens. I'm still looking forward to it, will most likely buy it, it's just not near the top of my list like I thought it'd be

x. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD : Really loved FFX, X-2 is pretty good too. Just no space for an HD collection of games I've already played on this list

1. Dark Souls II]: I'm on a media blackout for this game for a reason: it's going to be amazing and I can't wait to die all over again. Easily the one game I'm going to pre-order and pay in full next year. Last gen is far from over yet even with next gen consoles bringing out the big games next year.
2. Super Smash Bros 4: After a lackluster Smash Bros: Brawl as major new characters were spoiled left and right, I've doing my hardest to go on a media blackout for this game. There's so many unknown details/surprises about this game but one thing is for sure: this is going to be the game that I'll be buying a WiiU for hands down. Might also get the 3DS version as well for portable multiplayer mayhem.
3. Bravely Default: I love JRPG's. When I read about how many crazy systems this game has-- including a fantastic StreePass function-- as well as the fact that it's a spin off franchise/sequel to Four Heroes of Light (which I admittedly have not played), I knew I made the right decision jumping on the 3DS boat in November. This is going to be a great portable RPG I'll be playing for months; the 3DS was made for it. I can't wait to try out the demo side story come January.
4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: My first foray into the series was with The Witcher 2 on 360 due to not having a gaming laptop/PC. What I learned was an intriguing story with pretty damn good moral choices that aren't colored in red/blue *cough Mass Effect series* as well as interesting characters. This easily cemented it as one of the best WRPGs I've ever played. That being said, I'm looking forward to seeing how Geralt's story concludes even with 30 different endings in store.
5. X: While details are still murky, this game came out of left field in the Nintendo Direct 2014 game reel. Monolith Soft proved they still got it with Xenoblade. The trailer got me extremely excited for a damn good reason. I have faith this is going to be an ambitious and fantastic game. Again, I'm a sucker for open world RPGs as this one looks like it's going to be a joy to explore.
6. The Division: I'm a sucker for RPG's as this one has a huge amount of ambition riding behind it. The promise of blending single player and multiplayer together in a 3rd person shooter intrigues the hell out of me. It was a huge surprise at this year's E3 for a reason as it made a big splash and raised some brows.
7. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes: Yes, it looks visually stunning, but that's not the reason I'm in it for. I'm more intrigued to see how it sets the stage for The Phantom Pain's plot as the Metal Gear Solid series' story is already insane but in a good way. The open world stealth game premise sounds very promising so I'm looking forward to messing around in it.
8. Watch_Dogs: The Dark Souls style invasion system still intrigues the hell out of me but the open world concept does not. We'll see if the delay brought improvements to the game. I'm cautiously optimistic that it'll shake up the open world genre in terms of interacting with the world more but not by massive leaps and bounds.
9. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2: The original game's ending made quite the impression as it left players asking for more. Finally that day has come. An ambitious open world alternating between the modern day and the past, playing as Lord Dracula, and having all his crazy powers at his disposal is a wish come true.
10. Dragon Age: Inquisition: The footage/screenshots that have been shown so far sure do look pretty. It's a pretty ambitious world with a lot of hype riding it. While I never played Dragon Age II, I have faith that Bioware Montreal is not going to drop the ball with this game. The combat looks pretty fun as well so hopefully it won't be dull/repetitive.

Honorable mentions:

Transistor: Bastion had an amazing original song in the form of Build That Wall and the narrator was cool despite the dull combat. This game's combat looks pretty bad ass, I love the art style, and it's probably going to have another memorable original song or two.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe: I love a good Kirby game. The trailer looked pretty cool and the series' iconic music is making a return. With it being on the 3DS, a portable Kirby game was a pretty fitting platform for it.
Shovel Knight: This game looks so charming for some odd reason that I can't help but smile. Maybe it's the 8 bit style presentation or the Mega Man influences or the fact that the titular character has a shovel. With ex WayForward devs helming it, it's definitely going to be good.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number: I've yet to finish the first one but the soundtrack alone is extremely enjoyable. The twitch murderous game play is the second. Definitely liked what I saw of it on a couple of videos.

Many other games; the Ubi Framework games look absolutely amazing. Next year is going to be a crazy year for games as a ton big and small games to look forward to. But in all honesty, I don't really care about many of the next console exclusive games. Shooters? *yawn*

1. infamous second son
infamous 2 was the best open-world game last-gen. super fun and addictive. plus it's the underrated suckerpunch studios.

2. the order 1886
ready at dawn, another underrated studio. made three of the best psp games ever. dare i say ghost of sparta is better than both gow3 and ascension. plus, steampunk alternate history.

3. southpark the stick of truth
need a funny game, and away from all the uber-realistic, uber-serious-plots cinematic movie games with famous voice actors and blood splatters on camera lens.

4. rime
just finished ico. need more. that cut from the trailer with the boy running on the beach, very reminiscent of ico's
final scene
.

5. persona 5
played persona 3 portable and did not like it one bit. still, i am hyped about this since there's not a lot of jrpgs on the ps3.

6. broken age
saw the vgx footage - the gameplay, not frodo. looks to be a unique game. also just got into point-and-clicks after playing heavy rain and beyond two souls (yes, they are point-and-clicks). played p-n-c games before but never really paid attention that much even though they were very popular in the 90s (alongside platformers).

7. child of light
saw the first trailer and it looked interesting. yes, give us some rpgs next year. enough fps.

8. assault android cactus
just looks plain arcade fun. explosions look nice, particle effects look amazing, hopefully controls are nice as well. from the trailer alone, it looks tons and tons of fun and that's what matters.

9. the witness
played braid and wasn't really all over it although it was a nice little puzzle game, didn't care for the story or the character designs. saw blow demonstrate the game. love me some puzzle games. we need more good puzzle and point-and-click games that look like they have some production values. yes, graphics aren't everything but i also don't want to play games that look like rogue legacy or hotline miami all the time.

10. metal gear solid 5
mgs4 is still one of the best ps3 games ever, mgs1 still one of the best ps1 games ever, mgs3 still one of the best ps2 games ever, peacewalker still one of the best psp games ever.

1. TitanFall - This game looks entirely different from any other online FPS. The guys at Respawn know their shooters and I can't wait to see what different ideas they bring to the table.

2. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes - Demo, tutorial, prologue, whatever... This is fucking next-gen Metal Gear Solid we're talking about here! I have faith in Kojima that he will deliver another outstanding game.

3. South Park: The Stick of Truth - This poor game. I've waited so long for this and delay after delay has been growing on me. I hope the delays are actually making the game better and not just postponing the execution.

4. Thief - I haven't played a lot of the Thief games so this will be the first one I dive right into. All of the videos and trailers have looked great and the setting/background/story of the game looks fantastic.

5. Halo 5 - This game would be MUCH higher, probably even number 1 if we knew ANYTHING about it. So far we've gotten one teaser trailer. I loved Halo 4's single player and even thought it was the best one since Halo: CE so I definitely looking forward to what 343i can do in their second game.

6. Quantum Break - IRIT: In Remedy I Trust. All they do is make great games and Quantum Break is going to be no different. The game looks GORGEOUS on Xbox One. I still want to know more on the live action and see more gameplay before I move it up.

7. Sunset Overdrive - The colors and art style of this game is crazy good! I can't wait to see some actual gameplay!

8. Project Spark - I've watched every live stream Team Dakota has done and with every one I get more and more hyped. I have already been keeping a journal of characters and weapons and items and storylines to throw in my game.

9. Wolfenstein: The New Order - I've played every Wolfenstein game and have loved every second of all of them. This game is going to be no different from what I've seen so far,

10. Kinect Sports: Rivals - The Preseason demo floored me on how great it was. The controls were responsive and the game just looks great.

1. Dying Light : I've had a lot of fun playing Dead Island recently and looking forward to play Riptide, I know they are not the best games in the world but the fun factor was there. Crafting insane weapons and going around the island fighting hordes of zombies just worked for me. There's seems to be some sort of Mirror's Edge element in Dying light so I'm really looking for what Techland will deliver here.

2. Mirror's Edge : This game got me by surprise last year and even if EA speaking of making it an open world game does put me off a little bit, I'll keep an eye open to see what the reboot will be. Not sure if it will be release in 2014 tho.

3. The Division : I guess the E3 video plays a big part for the hype I have for this game, I'm usually not very keen on MMO but damn that was an awesome teaser to watch.

4. Samorost 3 : I have to put Amanita up here. I probably would have preferred Machinarium 2 but the Samorost universe is very good too. I remember reading that this will be their biggest game yet.

5. Watch Dogs : I'm actually one of those who are happy that the game got delayed. The downgrades we've seen since E3 2012 reveal were just ridiculous. People seems to enjoy ACIV so I guess there's is hope Ubisoft can deliver.

6. The Next Car Game : I want to go back in time when I use to spend countless hours having fun playing Destruction Derby 2. Haven't really try that kind of game since but this one got my attention recently.

7. Hotline Miami 2 : I'm already packing ibuprofen boxes for when the game will come out. Totally worth the headaches.

8. Titanfall : I have seen Titanfall...I don't really know what people have seen to make them say "Have you seen Titanfall ?" so let's wait and see.

9. Everybody's gone to the rapture : I strangely enjoyed Dear Esther this year. A bit disappointed that this will be PS4 only (Is it 100% confirmed?) but I will be definitely looking for what people have to say about this game and might try it out one day if I get a PS4

10. Limbo 2 (Project 2) : I'm putting this 10 because of course there is absolutely no confirmation for this to happen but back in 2010, Playdead said that the game needs at least two more years of development for being ready. I don't know where they are now with the project but I want to believe.

1. The Order; Gears of War type gameplay in Steampunk London with werewolf like enemies. Give it to me.
2. Titanfall; CoD4 is one of my favorite games of all time. If Respawn can replicate that with a mech/futuristic scene, it'll be awesome.
3. Persona 5; 40 hours into P4G and already I'm looking forward to seeing what Atlus do with 5.
4. Destiny; I'm optimistic about this one just because of Bungie, although I'm always wary of MMO's.
5. South Park; Stick of Truth, from what we've seen is looking amazing. Also, Obsidian.
6. Watch Dogs; I was excited for this one up until the delay, now I'm just cautiously optimistic.

1. The Witness - As you could probably surmise from my avatar, I'm a big fan of Jonathan Blow's work. While there isn't a ton of concrete info on The Witness (I like it better that way) I am confident this is going to be a great game that really innovates on how a story can be told through a video game.

2. Dark Souls 2 - How can you not be excited for this? Looks to be another guaranteed awesome entry in one of the best IPs from all of last gen.

These are the only games I'm excited for. I'm sure there will be lots of other good games in 2014 that I will play, but none of them cross my mind from day to day.

7. Gabriel Knight HD.. Hoping this swill spawn new GK games.

1. Dark Souls II
2. Persona 5
3. Smash Bros U
4. D4 (lol)
5. The Witness
6. Ground Zeros
Edit: 7. The Evil Within

The top 3 is more than enough to last me hundred and hundreds of happy hours. Sequels to my favorite things ever.
D4 will be interesting for sure. And The Witness is much more promising to me than Braid was.
I'm kinda in an iffy state on Zeros. I'm cautiously optimistic. Evil Within is the same way.

1. The Division : Everything I've seen about this game screams next gen. From the very first gameplay showed at E3 to the screenshots and other videos that have released since. The game looks gorgeous, gameplay looks very fun, and I love the open-world coop style mmo feel it has. Even the SmartGlass features didn't look half bad! Not that I own a tablet or anything, but I wouldn't mind someone dropping bombs on my enemies from above. I absolutely can not wait for this game, I just hope Ubisoft gives it the time and effort it will need.

2. Titanfall
3. Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes
4. Sunset Overdrive
5. Watch Dogs

1. The Division - because of everything. The graphics, the particle effects, the premise. Blew me away at E3 stood out above all others.

2. Destiny - I love having some coop to play with my brother and Sci-fi wins the category.

3. InFamous: Second Son - Loved the infamous games and this looks to expand and freshen up that series.

4. Dragon Age: Inquisition - love all of BioWares games and can't wait for the first on next gen.

5. Elder Scrolls Online - don't judge me it's fun and another game I'll play coop with my brother.

6. Watch Dogs - just looks so slick. Should be a great play. Should.

7. TitianFall - might not even play it as I have PS4 and not sure if anyone I know will pick it up for 360 but it plays like a dream, amazing.

8. Octodad - nobody suspects a thing.

9. Fallout 4 - I can dream can't I?!

1. Persona 5: After Persona 4 I am hyped beyond belief and will preorder the moment they announce a special edition.
2. Persona Q: looks adorable and includes characters from two of my favorite games.
3. South Park: The Stick of Truth: I love South Park and RPGs, plus the game itself looks incredible unlike every prior South Park game.
4. Mario Kart 8: After MK7 I have hope for the series.
5. Halo 5: I'm definitely not big on multiplayer but I love the campaigns of Halo games. It's one of the few shooters where I enjoy replaying campaigns.
6. X: Xenoblade was rad and this looks fucking gorgeous.
7. Bayonetta 2: The craziness and combat of the first is making me pumped.
8. Super Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U: I didn't like Brawl but I'm willing to be hopeful...
9. Bravely Default: Say hello to the real next generation Final Fantasy.
10. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare: I love PvZ and tower defense games in general. I'm not too happy there's no story mode but I'll probably enjoy it either way.

Honorary mention: Shovel Knight. That game looks super cool and I'm going to enjoy the hell out of it.

Oh and Quantum Break would have been number 3 if it were confirmed for 2014. Alan Wake was my favorite shooter of last gen and I have big hopes for this one. I would rather have Alan Wake 2 but I'll take what I can get from Remedy.

3. Persona 5: The reason I'm keeping my ps3
4. Drakengard 3: See what I wrote for Persona 5.
5. South Park: The ability to play through an episode of South Park just makes this game sound like fun.
6. The Order 1886
7. Infamous Second Son
8. Rime
9. Game of Thrones Telltale Games
10. The Witch and the Hundred Knight

1) X-Just recently picked up a Wii U, looking very much forward to what Monolithsoft will bring to the table after Xenoblade.

2) Bayonetta 2 : Definitely a part of the reason I picked up the system. I just recently got into character action with MGR and Vanquish (if the latter counts), and have played a little Bayonetta as well. Nothing but hype.

3) Mirror's Edge 2 : This can go wrong. Very, very wrong. However, I am still very interested in how it turns out after enjoying the first one as much as I did.

4) Smash Bros : It's new Smash Bros. I can't not be excited.

5) Dark Souls II : Still haven't finished the first, but it's been a fantastic ride anyways. Hoping FromSoftware brings it again.

6) Hotline Miami 2 : Loved the first one, looking forward to more top-down insanity.

7) Mario Kart 8: Might be fun. Hoping it's less bullshitty than the Wii entry.

1) Bayonetta 2 - More of Bayonetta is always a good thing, assuming we don't have any more drawn out homages.
2) Hotline Miami 2 - sequel to my favorite indie title of 2012.
3) DKCR: Tropical Freeze - DAVID WISE
4) The Evil Within - From Resident Evil 4's director, nuff said.
5) Wolfenstein: The New Order - HEALTH PACKS and DUAL WEILDS and NO LIMITS TO GUN PICK UPS. Looks like a good return to old school FPS design (I hope).

1) Destiny ; Everything I liked about Borderlands made by Bungie plus a bigger scope sounds fantastic.

2) The Witcher 3 ; Can't wait to see what CDPR has for us this time.

3) Dragon Age Inquisition ; High hopes for this to redeem 2 and be the true sequel to Origins.

4) Uncharted 4 ; Naughty Dog has my sword no matter what they are up to. Whether its 2014 or not, it's highly anticipated.

5) The Order 1886 ; Early information and setting sounds promising.

6) Metal Gear Solid V ; Including both as one, hoping that they both finally release next year. GZ not as anticipated as TPP though.

7) World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor ; Another expansion for the best MMORPG of all time is always a nice time to visit Azeroth with a soft reset of all content.

8) inFamous Second Son ; One of the first games to come from the second wave for PS4, excited to see where SP takes this series.

9) Watch_Dogs ; Hoping that the time off has paid off for this game.

10) The Division ; Looks beautiful, looking forward to having more revealed.

1. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/Nintendo 3DS; what can I say, it's Smash Bros.! Seriously hyped for this one, especially since they seem to be fixing everything I hated about Brawl. Plus, Mega Man!! Getting both versions
2. Monolith Soft's X; spiritual successor to Xenoblade? Sign me up!
3. Bayonetta 2; Never played Bayo1, but after playing TW101 I am insanely hyped for this game. Hopefully the first one comes to Wii U or even PC, because I don't want to play the shitty PS3 port and I don't own a 360.
4. Mario Kart 8; Mario Kart in HD. Funny how a Mario Kart ends up being one of the best looking games on Wii U though
5. Kirby: Triple Deluxe; I adore the Kirby franchise, so a 3DS entry is very exciting! This one looks like it'll be even better than Return to Dreamland, which is already my 2nd favorite Kirby game.
6. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze; Fucking Donkey Kong, now with more Cranky
7. Destiny; MMORPG FPS? Seems like a really cool concept, and if anyone can pull it off it's Bungie. Will be my first retail game on my PS4 since launch lol.
8. Transistor; Bastion was really freaking amazing, so something new by those guys is bound to be great. I bought a PS4 at launch solely for this and Destiny, since I don't like playing games on PC unless I have to.
9. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare; PvZ based TF2 style game sounds amazing. This + Titanfall will make be get an XBone pretty soon methinks.
10. Kingdom Hearts II.5 HD ReMIX; I'll finally get to experience Birth by Sleep :)

In total 5 Wii U games, 2 3DS games, 2 PS4 games,1 PS3 game, and one XBone game.

Also OP do Smash Wii U and 3DS count as the same game or different games?

1. Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey (PC, Tablet)
It looks very promising and I really like the lore and the setting of the previous game. And there will be multiple characters in the story to play as like in the prequel from 2006.
2. Kirby Triple Deluxe (3DS)
My favourite games on Nintendo platforms were always the Kirby games.
3. X (Wii U)
X.gif *squee*
4. Smash Bros. (Wii U)
I haven't played a Smash Bros games for years and I really need to fix that. It's the only Fighting game that I am still interested in.
5. Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright (3DS)
Two of my favourite game protagonists teaming up. Brilliant!
6. Bayonetta 2 (Wii U)
It's an Action game made by Platinum.
7. Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)
It's a blast to play with friends and the only pure Racing game series thwt I still play.
8. Broken Age (PC)
A new game made by Tim Schafer and his team at Double Fine, OMG!
9. The Evil Within (PC)
Trailer looked very promising and I trust in Mikami that TEW will deliver.
10. Oddworld: New 'N Tasty (Wii U)
It's a remake that every fan of the series has waited for.

1) Dark Souls 2: For a fan of dark fantasy like myself DaS is a dream coming true, the atmosphere combined with an original and criptic storytelling possible only in a videogame makes it the best game of the generation for me. Can't wait for the sequel.

2) The Witcher 3: For me this game is going to be what The Elder Scrolls should have been. Incredible visulas, a deep story and choices wich actually matters.

3) Dragon Age Inquistion: I enjoyed Dragon Age 2 but still i'm conscious about the critics it received and i think they are legit. Dragon Age 2 deserves the hate. But still i have faith in Bioware; they will redeem themselves.

1. Titanfall: I've been anticipating this the moment that I found out about Respawn. Looking forward to trying to get back into online FPS.
2. EA Sports UFC: I know that this is an unusual choice for my second spot but I love MMA... I love MMA more than gaming. Only reason this isn't number 1 is because it's EA and I'm worried that it'll be mediocre.
3. Halo 5: Halo 4 was the worst one yet... But it wasn't so bad that I've lost all hope. I actually really enjoyed certain parts of the MP and SP and considering it was their first Halo game I think they did a decent enough job.
4. Drive Club: Love racing games, enjoyed Motorstorm, looking forward to a different kind of racer from Evolution.
5. South Park The Stick of Truth: Love the show and expecting this to be very funny.
6. Destiny: I really want this to be amazing. So far not 100% convinced by what I've seen but really interested to see how this turns out.
7. Project Spark: Loved the idea of LBP but never got around to playing it. This looks like it will offer even more customization and creativity.
8. Sunset Overdrive: Just on the trailer alone! Looks very unique and art style is gorgeous.
9. The Division: Trailer looks very ambitious but kind of expecting Ubisoft to mess it up.
10. Infamous Second Son: Not played any of the others which is why this isn't really higher on the list. Graphics look nice but gameplay so far looks a bit boring.

10. Project Cars: Been waiting for this racing sim for a long time. With the steady decline of the sim racing genre on consoles thanks to GT, I am fiending for this game.
9. Transistor: Music in the first trailer had me hooked. Game overall looks so refreshing.
8. Thief: Game looks slick and Human Revolution ended up being a great entry into the Deus Ex series so I have faith.
7. Destiny: It's bungie's first new IP since Halo. Nuff said.
6. TitanFall: The gameplay doesn't seem innovating or anything but it seems like a super FUN game to play. Can't wait.
5. Bayonetta 2: Bayonetta is my personal favorite action game of all time. I expect Bayonetta 2 to shatter the action/hack and slash genre once again.
4. Infamous Second Son: Game looks so smooth. The gameplay looks so fun and cool. The graphics are mind blowing. Very intrigued from the other powers Delsin can take.
3. Driveclub: The new snippets that Evolution have posted recently makes it seem that driveclub is the true next gen shift in racing games. The realistic graphics with the reflections from the scenery accurately portrayed. The aggressive looking AI. Driveclub hopefully makes every other racing game take note.
2. Witcher 3 Wild Hunt: Grown man's rpg with grown man theme. Also helps the game looks huge and phenomenal.
1. The Order 1886: No gameplay seen yet and is my most hyped game of 2014. The whole setting and characters of the game have got me so curious, I am hungry for ANYTHING. I. cannot. wait.

1. Broken Age : Double Fine Adventure was the first Kickstarter I backed and I pledged quite a bit to it so I'd get to play a new adventure game helmed by Tim Schafer. At this point the documentary has been so good. I originally told myself that I wasn't going to watch it until after I played the game but I couldn't help myself. It's a shame that the game is going to be in two parts but it doesn't dampen my excitement.

1. Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey had a great story, and Dreamfall did a good job expanding upon it. TLJ is one of my favorite game series, so I'm quite happy I'm finally getting the chance to play Chapters and see where Ragnar and his team take the loose ends from the previous entries.

2. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number: The first one was a lot of fun. It had a weird story, cool visuals, great gameplay, and awesome music. I'm pretty excited to see where Dennaton Games takes things in the sequel.

3. Wasteland 2: I admit, I have very little experience with isometric squad-based cRPGs. But this one sold me back during its Kickstarter project, particularly with the artwork. I've played some of the beta and have enjoyed it - I'm looking forward to getting to play the full, final experience.

4. Ghost Song: I have no experience with Metroidvania games, but this one sold me on trying one out. I think I'm most impressed by Jobbs' passion and dedication to the project, which gives me hope that it will turn out great. Plus the art direction is cool.

5. Pillars of Eternity: Another KS project I backed. I love Fallout: New Vegas, so I have faith that Obsidian will deliver another top-notch RPG.

Dark Souls 2>All.
The Evil Within looks pretty good too.

L4D3 if 2014 is the year they release it, which wouldn't be shocking.

Edit-I love how the only reason people seem excited for The Order is that it's "steampunk". We've seen zero gameplay and know next to nothing about it. I feel like joining on hype trains like this just leads to bad things more often than not.
