As far as we know this is self imposed censorship. In that case, there is no "moral obligation" to stand against it, and if the results are better then there is no reason to be upset.Censoring is a good thing now?
The chibi models are already ugly anyway.
I can barely look at the demo long enough to play it, and even that's with the convulted system. I wish I took back the 30 minutes I tried of that demo and instead put it into further progress in Xenoblade.
so are westerners just prudes? or is it just differences in cultures?
censorship still sucks no matter what the excuse is
Ditto. I don't care about costumes, especially when the graphics are this undefined. But changing text? Ugh.Outfit censorship is w/e.
Localization censorship is what I have an issue with.
I actually like those short shorts.
I have no idea what's going on with the bottom costume though for either region. Belts gone wild?
Additionally, the ages of certain characters have been raised from 15 to 18, while localisation efforts have apparently toned down sexual innuendos present in the original game.

Because Japan is still stuck in the dinosaur ages of game development.they look way better to me, why the hell is she wearing a thong into battle?
Another bit of censorship I just ran across: all of the characters have been aged up in the EU/US version. JPN/US age.
Agnes: 17/20
Tiz: 16/19
Edea: 15/18
Ringabel: 15/18
Oh no, not my childish sexual innuendos. Immersion broken.

Costumes on the right are really tacky and just plain tasteless. Girl wearing lingerie and knee boots...okay Japan.
What sexual innuendo is the OP referring to?
After reading a little on the story, I actually support the ages being bumped up. It seemed a little weird to me that kids so young would have free reign to do so much.
But I guess that's a pretty typical RPG trope so I might be the only one.
Too hard to understand simple mechanics for you?
