I thought the point of closing down the Vita thread was because we weren't allowed to have megathreads; but actually, what's happening right now is that we're getting an even bigger and confusing beast of a megathread. We should just have these weekly release topics + OTs for every game and close the megathread completely.

It makes no sense to be merging all of this when it all makes perfect sense the current way.

Who exactly was being harmed or inconvenienced by the current way? Who is being helped by this new way?

Lame; sorry to hear your thread is getting neutered. Thanks for the years of faithful posting... while I've mainly lurked them, I found them incredibly helpful. I thought they served as a nice reminder to go in and check out new stuff. I'll be less likely to do that with a merged mega-thread. I thought GAF was trying to move away from those.

Very curious to try out Don't Starve. I already put around 8 hours on the Steam version but I don't mind trying it on a different platform.

Shame about merging the threads, however. Let's hope for the best.

Thanks for all the hard work over the years, kassatsu. I can't say I like or even understand this new situation. Bigger threads usually mean less discussion.

Hmm, indeed, I hate mega threads too. I do understand the point, but still, I really liked the format of these threads and the discussion about just the games that were released in this week to check out some quick first impressions.

Thanks to kassatsu and others that contributed to these threads, I checked them out every week. :)

I don't like this new policy of merging threads, and found the weekly Playstation Store threads helpful and informative. I don't understand why it has to go.

I agree. I always thought the Vita gang was making the situation worse for the handheld by hiding into that one huge thread. It'd be a lot more useful to see various Vita game OTs popping in the thread list, even if they aren't very long lasting per one thread. That's my opinion anyway.

Yeah, this was exactly what I was wondering. I guess the idea is to have one megathread so it's easier to manage than multiple megathreads? I dunno, it's not worth the repercussions to me to press the issue, but it's a weird one.

I'm with you, seems completely backwards from what it should be. These threads were great for popping into and quickly seeing what's happening this week and what people are excited for and why. I expect that this will make it much more difficult to do that.

Thanks for putting these together for so long Kassatsu and everyone else involved. I've appreciated them throughout the years.


I can't wait to try out Don't Starve, been wanting to play that for awhile and the price is right!

Oh, that's really too bad. Even though I've only recently been given the oportunity to post here, I've been reading these threads for years. Especially the Vita thread will be missed A LOT. Thanks for all the hard work!
